[0:03] Hey, [0:10] hey, hey, hey, [0:15] hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. [1:15] Hey, [1:24] Hey, [1:31] hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, [1:41] hey, hey, hey, hey, [2:15] I know. [2:25] [music] [2:39] Hey, [2:46] hey, hey, hey, [music] hey, hey, hey, [2:53] hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Hey, [3:03] hey, hey, [3:08] hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. [3:17] [music] [4:37] right? [4:38] >> Yeah. [6:33] your team of Cougar. [7:22] Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. [7:26] homes [7:27] hockey [7:29] tonight [7:47] will be asked to leave. [7:51] Let's welcome the visiting Hus [7:55] number 31 [7:59] defense number six Alexa [8:04] number four Taylor [8:06] at left wing number 23 Alex [8:10] right wing number 17 [8:15] Huskies number 22 [8:17] Olen [8:19] headaches [8:21] assistant coaches [8:25] and [8:30] ladies and gentlemen. [9:26] inside Centennial Sports Arena. where [9:28] tonight fresh off a second straight [9:30] victory over Holy Family, Centennial [9:32] Spring Lake Park looks to defend its [9:34] spot as the top team in class 2A when it [9:36] welcomes 15th ranked and over to town [9:39] for an old-fashioned NWSC showdown. Good [9:42] evening everyone. I'm Bill Hub here in [9:44] Circle Pines for what should be a really [9:47] good game between two ranked teams. [9:49] Nobody hotter in the state right now [9:51] than the Cougars of Centennial Spring [9:53] Lake Park. They haven't won or haven't [9:56] lost I should say in the last seven [9:58] games. Two of those wins have come over [10:00] the top previous top number one Holy [10:02] Family. They're averaging nearly six [10:04] goals a game and they've allowed just 10 [10:07] goals defensively. So they are rounding [10:10] into form at the perfect time as we [10:13] enter postseason play on the horizon. [10:16] And they're led by Josie Kelzenberg, the [10:19] freshman forward. not the most heralded [10:22] of players, but she has scored 10 of her [10:24] past 15 goals in the last five games, [10:26] including a pair of hat-ticks um over a [10:30] team over a couple teams, including [10:32] Blaine, recently here at home. So, [10:35] Kelzenberg chipping in offensively. It's [10:38] a deep team. It's a loaded team [10:39] offensively and they'll have to contend [10:42] with an Andover team that they've gotten [10:44] to know quite well recently. Julia [10:46] Gertis leads them. the junior forward [10:48] and alternate captain has scored in five [10:51] of her last six games. She leads Andover [10:54] in both goals and assists this season. [10:57] Not an Andover team that scores a whole [11:00] ton, but Gertis is certainly the one [11:03] that makes them go offensively. So, it [11:05] should be a good one in the Northwest [11:07] Suburban Conference. And we'll have Puck [11:08] Drop for you straight ahead here on [11:10] North Metro TV. [11:17] For decades, I've taught you everything [11:20] I know, [11:24] >> how to safely build a fire, [11:28] >> and how to control the flames. [11:33] But I can only teach wildfire [11:36] prevention. [11:38] Only you can prevent wildfires. [12:00] Your number one ranked Centennial Spring [12:03] Lake Park Cougars take the ice ahead of [12:05] their home clash here against the [12:08] Andover Huskies. game in Northwest [12:10] Suburban Conference play. Second to last [12:13] conference game of the season as we take [12:14] a look at the class doubleA girls hockey [12:17] rankings and they're at the top the [12:19] Cougars 182 and one after consecutive [12:22] victories over Holy Family. They're [12:23] still going to play Hill Murray and [12:26] Minnotonka both here at home in two of [12:29] their last three games before they gear [12:32] up for the playoffs. [12:35] And uh they they've played all the good [12:37] teams. They've played Edina, Hill [12:39] Murray, Minnetonka, Holy Family. They [12:42] have tested themselves and uh [music] [12:44] very likely to face a team like Maple [12:46] Grove ranked number nine in the section [12:50] final. A lot of hockey to still to play [12:52] before we get there. Goalenders tonight [12:55] for Andover. It'll be Clarbel Hills in [12:58] the Nets. Senior goalie goalie. Seven [13:01] and N2 record with a 237 goals against [13:05] average. number 31 there. 910 save [13:09] percentage or 918 save percentage I [13:11] should say and one shut out for the [13:13] alternate captain. And meanwhile Kaand [13:17] the junior goalend to the transfer from [13:19] Lakeville North a couple years ago 132 [13:21] and one [13:23] fantastic goals against average 1.47 a [13:26] couple shutouts and 935 save percentage [13:29] as the Cougars win the opening draw and [13:30] we're underway. They're in the red and [13:32] white and over in the black and gold [13:35] heading left to right. [13:38] [screaming] Turned over at the blue line [13:40] and Avery Wagner takes it back. Second [13:42] line starting out there tonight for [13:44] Centennial SLP who is without Elena [13:46] Ganettes. Ganettes five goals and three [13:49] assists in helping Team USA go 6 and0 at [13:54] the USA U8 world juniors and win a gold [13:57] medal. She landed [14:00] at the airport uh a little while ago, so [14:03] obviously not suiting up tonight, but [14:05] they hope to back have her back for the [14:07] next game. And obviously, it hasn't hurt [14:09] them. They've won seven in a row since [14:13] losing on December 20th to Holy Family 3 [14:16] to2. Again, they've lost to Holy Family [14:19] twice and they drew against and tied [14:22] Minnetonka. And those are the only [14:25] non-wins they've had this season. and [14:26] everything else has been a victory for [14:29] this CSLP team. Battle for it in the [14:32] Cougar zone. They played this Andover [14:35] team on December 29th. We'll tell you [14:38] more about that game as we go along. [14:42] Along the end boards, it's picked up. [14:45] Pass ahead. Intercepted. [14:49] Each team kind of trying to control it [14:51] in the neutral zone, but finally Gertis, [14:53] Julia Gertis throws a shot on net. It's [14:56] loose in the slot. Another shot. Doesn't [14:58] get all the way through to Wyland. [15:01] Centering pass intercepted there by [15:03] Mattie Walter. [15:05] Centennial SLP struggling to clear their [15:07] zone right now. [15:09] They ring it around. Annabelle Buchoney [15:11] picks it up. [15:13] Pass ahead intercepted at center ice by [15:16] Taylor Shriles. The sacred heart commit. [15:18] She flips it back in and now it's [15:20] carried on out. Walter as Centennial SLP [15:23] in the midst of a change. [15:27] banked up. They try to hold the zone. [15:29] Katie Bell goes down. The hand stays [15:32] down and [15:35] >> ball rather Katie Ball trying to keep it [15:37] in the zone as it's flipped in cross [15:39] corner for them to give chase. Now [15:41] Centennial SLP can get on the four [15:43] check. [15:46] Puck slides all the way back down to the [15:48] other end and icing on Andover is called [15:51] two minutes into this first period here [15:54] in Circle Pines. Scoreless between [15:56] Andover and Centennial Spring Lake Park [15:58] here on North Metro TV. [16:01] Bill Hop flying solo with you tonight. [16:07] Mia Such, sophomore forward, moves in to [16:11] take the face [16:14] against Tegan Olsen, her former [16:16] teammate. Draw one by Centennial SLP. [16:20] Flipped off the end boards by Grace [16:22] Logger, [16:24] held momentarily by Mattie Yulan. [16:28] And one of the believe that was Olsen [16:30] who lost an edge at center ice. [16:34] Each team just trying to settle down and [16:36] settle into this game. [16:39] Logger goes cross ice for ball at the [16:42] line. [16:44] Banked up ahead looking for such but and [16:46] over controls. [16:51] Able to get into the zone here with [16:52] Audrey Lind. Her shot goes wide. [17:01] swept across corner but iced by Mia as [17:03] such. Not a bad play as that uh gets [17:07] fresh lines out there for both teams. [17:09] The faceoff will come back down in the [17:11] Centennial Spring Lake Park end. [17:17] And over with the only shot of the game [17:19] so far [17:21] as Josie Kelzenberg will take the face. [17:28] Handover wins it back to the point. Shot [17:30] through traffic. Wyland makes the save. [17:37] Worked up the wall back to the point and [17:39] then stolen by Avery Wagner. Threeon two [17:42] for Centennial SLP if they hustle. [17:44] Wagner snaps off a shot. Doesn't reach [17:46] the net. [17:49] Puck loose behind the Andover net. [17:51] Kelzenberg trying to center but can't. [17:53] Finally, it's taken by Mattie or Molly [17:56] Kluff, her sister and brother. Both wore [17:59] Huskies jerseys before. Annabelle [18:01] Buchaoneyi [18:03] dangling has it stolen by Gertis. Gurtis [18:06] on the backhand shot. Good save. [18:09] Love save made held on to by Ka Wland. [18:14] Started at Lakeville North [18:17] as an eighth grader and then transferred [18:19] and has started the last two years in [18:21] her third season. make that her second [18:23] season I believe for CSLP as she started [18:27] as a freshman. There you see Melissa Vul [18:30] providing some instruction to her [18:32] alternate captain Julia Gertis who we [18:34] highlighted in the open. Definitely the [18:36] best throw scoring threat for this [18:39] Andover team. They fling it in deep. You [18:42] know Andover's got a little bit of [18:46] spark here as that shot whistles high. [18:48] caught on the end boards. [18:53] Both teams kicking at it [19:00] with Yuland in there. [19:03] Finally tipped out. Cleared but not out. [19:05] They get a fortuitous bounce as that was [19:08] thrown on the net by Shriles and Mattie [19:10] Walter speeding down the left wing. She [19:12] gains the line. Pass across [19:15] >> tries to find its way to the stick of [19:16] Ella Perau. [19:19] come down and play it here. Number 23, [19:21] Lillian Renslo [19:24] back up the wall with it. Now worked [19:26] middle [19:27] shifted back toward the wall. Gloved [19:29] down. Back out to Bucha from the point. [19:32] She'll throw it in front. She had Reno [19:35] there as a screen, [19:37] but Andover able to clear it back out to [19:39] center. Back in come the Cougars as [19:42] Centennial SLP tries to change on the [19:44] fly. And a smart shot that's ultimately [19:47] gloved and held on to by Hills. [19:53] Good shot there by Stella Kramer. [20:06] >> Off the draw and over behind its own [20:08] net. [20:13] somehow able to force it out of the [20:14] zone. Grace Logger now collects and [20:18] spins back into her own end. Such throws [20:21] it towards Hills who looks up and [20:24] decides to take the whistle. [20:32] DJ just cycling through all the hits [20:34] here in Circle Pines. [20:43] Such against McKenzie Evans at the dot. [20:45] Logger [20:48] >> brings it around looking for ball back [20:49] to Logger. Tries to throw it on Nick and [20:52] it hits a handover Husky and is cleared. [20:54] Yulan banks it back in. [cheering] [20:58] Cougars back on the forche [21:01] up ahead to Audrey Lind. She's able to [21:03] carry it out. Not pretty, but they get [21:06] the job done as Alexis Wagner brings it [21:08] in. [21:09] immediately stolen back. Now a potential [21:13] twoon-one if they hustle ball [21:16] knocked off the puck there by number 22 [21:18] Tegan Olsen and Andover Ices the puck. [21:21] So the faceoff will once again take [21:24] place in the Huskies zone. [21:30] You take a look at uh the defense there. [21:33] Well played by Tegan Olsson. And like we [21:35] said, she played her freshman year in a [21:37] CSLP sweater, but then transferred and [21:40] now is starting tonight for the Andover [21:44] Huskies. Off the draw, [21:48] Centennial SLP cycles the puck, [21:50] centering pass only as far as Julia [21:53] Gertis, who wheels back in her own zone. [21:57] Patient with the puck. [22:01] Huskies slipping a little bit as there's [22:03] a board battle right in front of the and [22:05] over end. [22:07] Hills [22:09] comes out [22:12] and leaves it. They ring it around. [22:13] Baone giving chase. Piper Andrews the [22:16] captain [22:19] tailing her. Brook Yulan loses an edge. [22:23] Wagner pass just out of the reach of [22:26] Katherine Janeia. [22:28] And so that icing means we'll have a [22:32] faceoff down to the left of Ka Wland. [22:43] Three games left in the regular season [22:45] after this one. Minnotonka at Anoka and [22:48] Hill Murray. So, two really hard [22:51] non-conference home games and a road [22:54] conference game as they try to finish a [22:56] perfect 10-0 in Northwest suburban [22:59] conference play. As you take a look at [23:01] Shawn Molen, [23:03] built one of the dynastic programs in [23:07] classa in the state of Minnesota. [23:10] Elena's her sister still plays for [23:13] Woodbury who is undefeated, but Elena [23:15] decided to transfer in for her senior [23:18] season. [23:19] And the UMD commit has fit right in. 42 [23:23] points, second on the team and leads [23:26] them in goals as well. [23:29] Instant impact for player who should be [23:32] a Miss Hockey finalist. [23:36] Walter [23:37] flips it into the corner. [23:40] Olsen [23:42] >> banks it out of the zone. No one at the [23:44] point to control, so Kramer picks it up [23:46] at her line. [23:49] goes rink wide with it. [23:51] >> Now a chance here as Mattie Walter moves [23:54] middle. Walter between the rings. Good [23:56] for good backing. Centering pass hits a [23:59] Husky out front. [24:02] Now carried on out with speed by number [24:04] nine Olivia Larson. Larson decides to [24:06] throw one on net. That was always going [24:08] wide. [24:10] Backhand it in reverse directions to [24:12] Buchoney who lifts it out. Glove down at [24:15] the line. Renfro batting at it. [24:21] Cougs decide to change on the fly as [24:23] that's back banked in the zone. [24:28] Got a lucky bounce for Andover. That [24:29] could have been dangerous. [24:31] Such up ahead to Logger. Backhanded back [24:34] to Such. Now Logger takes it on the back [24:37] hand. Hounded by a pair of Huskies. [24:40] Alexis Wagner among them. Shot from the [24:42] point. Loose in front. [24:45] I think Hills made the save. Ref throws [24:47] it on net and it only gets trifles. [24:54] Huskies in the midst of a change. [24:59] Logger stick handling. [cheering] The [25:02] Boston College commit loses it in the [25:04] neutral zone. Here come the Husky. Shot [25:06] from above the point. Not much on it. [25:09] Logger retrieves in the left wing. Took [25:12] a bump from Gertis. [25:14] Now taken back. Here comes Mia Such. Two [25:17] on two for Centennial SLP. [25:20] Such feeds out in front trying to hit [25:22] Katie Ball and she fan on the shot. [25:30] Such has such has an interesting way of [25:33] skating. She's so bent forward at the [25:36] waist. [25:38] as uh helps her, I think, get better [25:41] lean [25:42] and maybe generate more speed. Avery [25:45] Wagner tries to split a pair of handover [25:47] defenders. Backhanded along by Alexa [25:50] Dorstad, one of the Blue Line starters [25:52] tonight. Oh, good find up ahead for [25:54] Piper Andrews. Andrews trying to get [25:57] past the defender, can't. [26:01] The hands stay down, so we play on. [26:09] Action fast and furious here. Shots [26:11] three apiece. Still scoreless as the [26:15] play has gone offside. [26:17] Allows everyone to catch their breath [26:19] here with 733 to go. First period. [26:26] Faceoff will come back down in the [26:28] Andover end. [26:36] with Walter [26:39] moving in for the dot duel. [26:42] Olsen [26:43] rings it around. Ref comes down [26:45] underneath her stick. Larson trying to [26:48] get there first. Good play by Brook [26:50] Muand to beat her to the spot. [26:55] Intercepted at center ice. [26:58] Olsen [27:00] or rather that's Molly Kluff. Kluff [27:03] gains the zone. Klough moving middle. [27:05] Shoots. Not much on the shot and it slid [27:07] by the left post. [27:12] Centering pass. There's a shot. There's [27:13] a good pad save. Wy [27:17] into the butterfly to make that stop. [27:24] Enslow tips it along but again overturns [27:26] it back and we've got a first penalty. A [27:29] trip coming up here. Lily Rolller. [27:34] Roll for the guilty party [27:44] as she took down Maddie Walter trying to [27:47] get by her. [27:53] That penalty coming at 10:14 [27:56] of the opening period. [27:59] >> Logger above the left circle. [28:10] for Logger above the left circle. Her [28:12] shot driven down and Julia Gurtis [28:15] skating away. Julia Gertis with a [28:17] potential breakaway, but Annabelle [28:19] Vuchaone comes back. There's a shot [28:21] deflected up and out of play. Great [28:24] hustle by Annabelle Buchaone [28:27] from the other point. The speedy skate [28:30] skater came back and got in the way as [28:34] you see her hustling [28:38] to deflect and ultimately Gertis turned [28:40] away and then did a nice job finding a [28:42] cutter. Believe she found Iceland Larson [28:48] but ultimately it was to no avail. [28:54] Power play numbers and over pretty good [28:57] numbers. Penalty kill 90 12%. Centennial [29:00] SLP nearly 25% on the power play. [29:12] Walter misses out. Yuland [29:16] or rather Ella Perau with a stick loose [29:18] on the ice. [29:21] Slid across. There's a shot and they No, [29:24] wait. No, they say no goal. The crowd [29:27] reacted. Josie Kelzenberg thought she [29:29] had one. [29:31] Ref was right there. Waved it off. [29:34] So we play on with 44 seconds left on [29:37] the Tripping Miner. Perau [29:40] passes for Rensow. Tips it to the corner [29:43] and they'll get set back up on the power [29:46] play, but that goes out of the zone. So [29:48] now they've got to touch up. Kelzenberg [29:51] will sweep it around for Walter to get. [29:55] Walter off the check from Kluff. [29:58] Has to pitchfork it along. Perau digs it [30:01] off the wall. [30:04] Good recovery by Larson. [30:07] Centennial unable to keep hold the zone [30:09] and they've got to [30:12] touch up. Finally flip back in. A really [30:14] disjointed power play this one for CSLP [30:18] and Andover will successfully kill off [30:20] the first penalty of the game. [30:24] Molly Kluff backhands it in and gives [30:27] chase. [30:28] Ball gets there first. [30:35] >> Skating away from the pressure of Aubrey [30:37] Kelly. [30:44] ball. Wheels away from Kelly [30:48] and has her pass intercepted. [30:51] >> Still scoreless here as we get to the [30:54] latter part of the first period. They go [30:56] corner to corner. Run around for Logger. [30:59] She drops it nicely. Twoon one for the [31:01] Cougars. Mia Such winds fires and a good [31:04] save by Hills. Loose in front. Walter [31:07] digging at it. She goes down. Clarabella [31:11] Hills covers the puck and gets the [31:14] whistle. [31:17] Such could have pass across, but she [31:19] decided to take it herself. for that [31:20] rising shot. Handled comfortably by [31:22] Hills, [31:35] Kelzenberg, [31:37] Josie. I should specify here as Josie [31:40] and Sam both wear Cougar sweaters. [31:45] >> Centered out in front. Oh, a great [31:47] opportunity. Katherine Janeer right [31:49] there. [31:50] But ultimately Andover able to clear. [31:52] Now they track it as Taylor Shrifles [31:56] goes to the wall. [31:59] >> Piper Andrews the captain in there as [32:01] well. Dropped back to the point and [32:04] ultimately gloved and held on to as [32:06] Wyland saw that shot through traffic and [32:09] made the save. Well, Jonathan is one of [32:12] the biggest [32:14] CSLP fans, Centennial fans you'll find. [32:17] always in his Letterman jacket, always [32:19] greeting the kids after a uh another [32:22] hard-fought victory. He has predict a 53 [32:26] win for the Cougars tonight. Shot from [32:29] above the circle hits a body out in [32:32] front. Cross ice pass evades Rensow and [32:36] then it's banked back in by the Huskies. [32:39] Good battle here with Andrews who wins [32:42] it. [32:44] Andrews and Rensow down there. Now it's [32:47] Gurtis. Thought about doing the [32:50] Michigan, but ultimately has it taken [32:51] away. Centering pass by Kluff [32:56] Banked out of the zone and Andover's got [32:58] to regroup, but the Huskies have kept [33:00] pace with the top ranked Cougars [33:02] in this first period. Annabelle Buchoni [33:05] as a couple Huskies collide at the blue [33:08] line. [33:09] Perau sweeps it in, but it's intercepted [33:11] by KF. Cross ice pass to Lind. Here's [33:16] Audrey Lind. [33:21] Huskies or Cougars rather just looking a [33:23] little little unsure at times as Renslo. [33:30] Walter backhands it in and goes off for [33:33] a change. [33:35] Picked up here by Dorstead. Snaps a pass [33:37] ahead for Linda [33:42] back at her own circle. [33:44] banked ahead for Logger. [33:47] Tried to find Such. It's intercepted. [33:50] Dorset fires it back in. A ref goes [33:53] down. He seems to be okay. [33:56] Good for check here by the Cougars as [33:58] Such regains the zone. Logger picks it [34:02] up. They just they don't look like [34:04] they're in their settled positions. Kind [34:06] of all over the place. [34:10] That's about the extent of my hockey [34:13] commentary. [34:14] Logger has her pass intercepted by [34:17] Dorststead. [34:19] >> Gertis, nice passing to Kluff and then [34:22] intercepted at center ice. Gertis [34:25] carries it back in for Andover. Gertis [34:28] from the left dot [34:30] high in the air. Finally gloved down. [34:34] >> Logger along the right half wall. Tries [34:36] to lift it out but can't. [34:40] Picked up here. Sharp angle shot and a [34:42] good save by Wyland. But what an effort [34:45] by Iceland Larson. [34:47] Freshman forward. Didn't have much to [34:50] shoot at, but she made it count. As you [34:53] see, Andover just kind of getting to [34:55] pucks first, winning those sort of 50/50 [34:59] pucks. [35:01] And they have competed competed hard, [35:04] competed well here in this first period, [35:06] outshooting CSLP seven to five. Five [35:10] shots in a period. Very uncharacteristic [35:13] for a team that is averaging nearly six [35:15] goals a game. 5.95 [35:19] cleared back to center ice but Andover [35:21] there. [35:23] Now Walter able to force the turnover. [35:25] Avery Wagner I should say. Wagner shot [35:28] saved by Hills. We've got a minute left [35:31] in the first. [35:38] Huskies chase it to the end board. [35:41] [cheering] [35:45] KFT on the backhand regains the zone for [35:48] Andover. [35:53] Just a [35:55] uncharacteristically ragged first period [35:58] I would say for CSLP. [36:02] Shots nearly even at seven to six. [36:05] But I just mean for the standard of play [36:07] that the Cougars have set this year and [36:11] and as of late. [36:20] >> Renow to take the face against Gertis. [36:24] 13 goals and 16 assists. Both team highs [36:28] for Andover. [36:32] Gurtis [36:34] back to the point for Shriles. Pad save. [36:42] Gertis nice pass [36:45] trying to find Larson. [36:48] Back out to Shriles down low. There's a [36:50] shot. Backhand attempt. Multiple saves. [36:53] Another save. Three consecutive saves [36:56] for Ka Wland. [37:00] >> Four in a bunch there. [37:03] And with just a second left, a little [37:05] less than a second, this will be [37:08] basically time for one last faceoff, [37:11] >> but Kya Wland keeping her team in this [37:14] game, keeping it a scoreless game. [37:19] And she has stopped all 11 shots she's [37:21] faced here in this first period. But how [37:22] many times this season has CSLP been [37:25] outshot by their opponent? But that's [37:27] exactly what happened in this first [37:29] period. Almost two to one margin. and [37:32] over outshooting [37:33] CSLP 11-6 in that first period. But [37:37] thanks to some tradition terrific [37:39] goalending, we remain scoreless. That's [37:42] how we head to the first intermission [37:43] here on North Metro TV. [46:30] Ladies and gentlemen, [46:32] any [46:34] noise makers are prohibited by the [46:36] Minnesota. [49:43] Back here on a chilly [49:46] night in Circle Pines, scoreless after [49:48] one period of play between Andover and [49:50] CSLP. Let's look at the first period [49:52] highlights [49:54] between these two teams, the Cougars and [49:56] the Huskies. And it was a lot of [49:58] defense, a lot of goalending and a lot [50:01] of defense. [50:03] 11 saves made by Kaia Wland including [50:06] the glove one there. [50:09] Couple missed shots as well and over for [50:12] some turnovers [50:14] but could not res could not capitalize [50:16] in transition. CSLP had one power play [50:19] couldn't take advantage. Ultimately [50:22] Clarabella Hills stopped all six shots [50:25] that she faced. Shots were 11 to six in [50:27] favor of Andover in that opening period. [50:31] I would say they had the better of play. [50:33] They had a little more jump and so [50:35] they've got to be feeling [50:38] confident there. Three consecutive saves [50:40] by made by Ka Wland right there. So [50:45] CSLP without their leading scorer Elena [50:50] who just returned from the her time with [50:52] Team USA tonight [50:55] trying to do it short-handed here as [50:57] they'll switch hands. [51:03] Top ranked team in class doubleA [51:06] Centennial Spring Lake Park [51:11] trying to defend home ice. Three of [51:13] their last four games in the regular [51:16] season will be here. Only road game [51:17] remaining at Anoka. [51:26] We'll start with the same [51:31] starters out as they did to begin the [51:33] game. [51:34] Both teams as Josie Kelzenberg wins it [51:37] back to Brook Yulan and CSLP try to look [51:40] a little more in sync. They offensively [51:43] than they did in the first period. [51:45] Katherine Janeia loses it. [51:48] Cycle the puck back down low. Chased [51:51] down by Josie Kelzenberg. It's been [51:53] redot lately. Centering pass tipped to [51:55] the end boards. [51:57] They try to throw it in front but it's [51:59] taken away. [52:02] Good stick to knock it free from Tegan [52:03] Olsson. Now they There's a penalty [52:06] coming up. Avery Wagner a trip. Just [52:10] left the stick dangling too long and [52:12] Wagner [52:14] takes CSLP's first penalty. The freshman [52:17] forward. [52:19] That is not how Centennio s Spring Lake [52:22] Park wanted to start as she took down [52:25] Alexa Dorstread trying to get past her. [52:27] Do penalty coming at 31 seconds [52:31] of the second period. So both teams have [52:35] committed tripping penalties tonight and [52:37] now it's Andover's turn to go on the [52:38] power play. They're 18% there this [52:40] season. Spring Lake Park Centennial, [52:43] meanwhile, killing off 90.5% [52:46] of the penalties they faced. [52:50] >> So, both excellent penalty kills [52:53] as that puck is iced and we'll do a draw [52:56] down in the Andover end. [53:00] So, we'll see if uh maybe Grace Logger [53:03] or Mia Such has a short-handed goal. [53:06] insights. [53:19] >> Gurtis wins the draw back to Taylor [53:22] Shriles. [53:24] Snaps a pass over gets it to Iceland. [53:27] Lars Larson. With a name like Iceland, [53:30] you know you're destined to play hockey [53:32] and be good. Annabelle Buchoni [53:36] rings it around. Trifles [53:39] has to chase it back into her own zone. [53:43] Trifles protecting it from the [53:47] forche of [53:49] Grace Logger. [screaming] [53:51] Now it's Mia Such's turn to be a bother. [53:55] Speedy sophomore getting in the way. One [53:58] minute left to go on the tripping miner. [54:00] And again, Andover ices the puck and [54:03] that'll kill off more valuable time for [54:05] CSLP. [54:08] Centennial Spring Lake Park didn't have [54:10] the most productive looking power play [54:12] and Andover hasn't either so far [54:16] thanks to the aggressive forch check, [54:18] aggressive kill of CSLP. Mattie Walter [54:22] to do the honors. [54:26] Able to tie up Alexis Wagner. [54:29] And now stolen back by Brook Yulan. [54:33] CSLP down a skater just trying to [54:36] [cheering] keep it down in this end and [54:37] kill off some time. Yulan skating away. [54:40] Pounded by multiple Huskys. [54:44] >> Puck pinged up against the left half [54:46] wall. Taken off it by Yuland. Goes off [54:49] the end boards. [54:53] finally tracked down in the corner and [54:55] the Huskies [54:57] took them 35 seconds to get out of their [54:59] own end after that draw. Walter good [55:02] poke check to knock it free. [55:04] Katie Ball will go high up the off the [55:07] window and out of the zone into the path [55:10] of Lena Fensky. [cheering] Lena Fensky I [55:13] should say. First time we've called her [55:14] name tonight. And another icing will [55:17] bring the faceoff back down in the [55:18] Huskies end with just eight seconds [55:20] remaining on this power play. [55:23] As you take a look at Ka Wland, [55:26] >> the junior future division one commit [55:34] Walter once again to do the honors [55:36] against Gertis. [55:41] >> Doorstad behind her own net. able [55:46] to pass it out of the zone. But again, [55:48] Katie Ball disrupting things at center [55:50] ice. [55:52] >> Cougars back to full strength. Shot from [55:54] long distance. Gloved help comfortably [55:57] by Ka Wland. [56:08] Andovers played a rigorous schedule like [56:11] they typically do. They're 119 and one, [56:14] five and two in Northwest Suburban [56:16] Conference play. It's good for third [56:20] off the faceoff. [56:23] CSLP reverses course and it's picked up [56:26] by Josie Kelzenberg up ahead looking for [56:28] Jania [56:32] Dorstead [56:34] racing away from a defender pinned up [56:37] against the endboards. [56:40] Kelzenberg big collision in the left [56:42] wing corner. [56:44] Gurtis able to hold off a defender in [56:46] the neutral zone and regain for the [56:49] Huskies. And then she's stapled by [56:52] Annabelle Buchaone. And that's going to [56:54] be a penalty as she stood up. Gertis [56:57] in the right circle. [57:00] So CSLP giving their penalty kill an [57:03] early workout [57:05] here in this second period. [57:09] That penalty coming at uh [57:14] 313 [57:18] interference the call. [57:22] So now we'll see if the Huskies can be [57:24] any better on this power play. Only got [57:26] one shot off on their last one. In fact, [57:29] that wasn't even on their last power [57:31] play. The power play had ended [57:33] >> technically. [57:37] Body checking. [57:38] >> Body checking technically the call [57:40] again. 313 the time of the penalty [57:44] >> again. Huskies or excuse the Cougars [57:47] making themselves a nuisance. Not [57:50] allowing the Huskys to get going. Mia [57:52] Such steals it. Such goes off the wall [57:54] to herself. Look out. Mia Such DRIVING [57:56] THE NET. GOES SCORES. [screaming] [58:02] MIA SUCH. [58:04] GOAL NUMBER 18 ON THE SEASON. Centennial [58:09] SLP, COURTESY OF A SHORT-HANDED GOAL, [58:12] takes a one- nothing lead. [58:16] Drove the net, went around Hills, and [58:20] made no mistake [58:23] despite the efforts of Molly Kluff to [58:26] try to track her down. [58:31] CSLP [58:34] with a short-handed tally. [58:43] >> See who they give the assist to. [58:47] >> Such unassisted. [58:51] >> Time of the goal. 347 of the second [58:54] period. Mia such unass assisted a [58:58] shorty. And now Andover tries to answer [59:00] back with a minute to go on this body [59:03] checking penalty. [59:06] Trying to get their power play going. No [59:08] shots on the power play thus far. That [59:11] one whizzes high. [59:14] Tipped again. Another opportunity here [59:16] for CSLP. Renow gets absolutely tattooed [59:22] as she gets the shot away. And that's [59:24] going to be a penalty. [59:27] And that was about as clear and obvious [59:30] as it gets. [59:32] Iceland Larson gave her a whack and [59:36] followed through as she let that shot [59:38] go. [59:41] Frustration penalty from the freshman [59:43] right there. So we'll have four on four [59:46] for the next 39 seconds and then a [59:49] minute 21 of power play. And a chance [59:53] here for CSLP to take this momentum and [59:57] run with it. [60:00] Already leading one- nothing off the [60:02] draw. Yulan center point. Josie [60:05] Kelzenberg tries to come off the wall. [60:08] Centering pass. Beautiful. Goes all the [60:10] way out from Melanie Ref. [60:13] >> Instead, it'll come up the wall for [60:15] Yuland. [60:19] 435 [60:21] >> 435 the time of the penalty and it is [60:24] body checking is that shot saved by [60:27] Hills. [60:28] >> Iceland Larson takes the penalty. [60:34] A great job just coming off the wall and [60:36] Hills ultimately deciding to melt that [60:39] down. 14 seconds left of fouron four as [60:42] Centennial SLP [60:46] makes uh some changes [60:50] gets Grace Logger back out there along [60:52] with Such [60:57] Such back to Logger shared near side [60:59] Katy Ball walks the line now gives back [61:01] to Logger from the point that had some [61:04] sizzle to it but Hills made the Hey, [61:12] Grace Logger's brother, Bryce, played [61:15] his hockey at Blaine High School for a [61:16] few years. He'll be wearing very similar [61:19] looking uniforms when he goes to [61:21] Wisconsin next year. [61:23] Off the draw, Grace Logger one-time and [61:26] it's blocked out front. She gets it back [61:28] from the left dot. Good save, Hills. And [61:30] she breaks it back to herself despite [61:33] such and others on the doorstep. [61:42] Grace logger. A couple bites at the [61:44] apple right there [61:47] once again. [61:49] Now it's a uh five on four situation as [61:52] the [61:54] Bakonei penalty is released and she hops [61:56] back on the ice [61:59] off the draw. Well read by Curtis who [62:01] banks it out of the zone and then sets [62:02] up along the blue line. [62:05] Ball [62:07] pounded there by Piper Andrews. [62:10] Cross ice pass [62:13] >> banked into the zone for Such to give [62:15] chase. [62:17] Handover just trying to kind of play [62:19] keep away right now. [62:22] Good stick lift by [62:24] Gurtis there against Ball. But here come [62:27] the Husk. Here come the Cougars rather. [62:30] >> THERE'S A SHOT. GLOVE SAVE SPILLED OUT [62:32] IN FRONT. IT'S still loose, jamming at [62:34] it. Loose in the slot. Finally slides to [62:37] the right wing corner. CSLP [62:42] with ball at the point. [62:45] Curtis aggressive on the kill. Centered [62:48] looking for Sut. She falls down. [62:51] 25 seconds left on the penalty as [62:53] they're able to send it all the way [62:54] down. [63:00] >> Logger. Physical play here from Alexis [63:02] Wagner and the Huskies on this penalty [63:04] kill. [63:06] Ball goes back to Wagner who re regroups [63:10] with 7 seconds left. [63:15] So the penalty expires. Both teams back [63:17] to full strength. Perau regains the [63:19] zone. Works to the outside. Perau feeds [63:22] in front. Oh, great chance. [63:25] Just missed the net. Such through [63:26] traffic. loose in front [63:29] and ultimately it's covered and held on [63:31] to. Shots are now even for the game. [63:34] 1212 [63:36] as we take a look at the last couple [63:37] chances for the Cougars. [63:40] Again, some of these juicy rebounds and [63:43] they have [63:45] players on the doorstep just have not [63:48] been able to take advantage. Such with a [63:50] crack there. [63:52] Walter battling as well, but ultimately [63:55] Husky's able to clear it. [63:59] Well, not clear it, but at least keep it [64:01] out. [64:03] Oh, good recovery there and a needed one [64:05] from Brook Yulan. Gloved down by Walter. [64:08] Walter from the right dot. Shoots. Save [64:10] made. Walter rings it up the boards for [64:14] ref at the point through traffic. Gloved [64:17] and held on to by Hills. [64:20] frenetic last uh couple minutes [64:27] >> shots in the period though. CSLP has [64:29] woken up [64:31] 7 to one. Shots in favor of the Cougars [64:34] as we're inside of 10 minutes to go in [64:36] the second period. One- nothing CSLP [64:39] leads. [64:41] Draw one cleanly back to the point. [64:43] Shared near side for Yulan goes down low [64:46] with it. [64:48] Josie Kelzenberg Perau tries a [64:51] wraparound. Hills covers [64:55] and again Lillian Rensow not af [64:59] get in the uh tough spaces as Julia [65:02] Gertis [65:03] tries to prevent her from getting a good [65:06] good look at things. [65:09] Gertis and Piper Andrews doing their [65:12] captain's duty. [65:19] Kelzenberg versus Gertis. Kelzenberg [65:21] wins it. Baone. [65:26] Bank down the wall. [65:29] Misplayed. [65:31] And now Bakone's got to recover with [65:33] Andrews on her heels. [65:39] >> Walter giving chase. Dorstad gets there [65:41] first. [65:46] >> [cheering] [65:48] >> Speedy Iceland Larson putting pressure [65:52] as Baone in the right wing will just [65:54] lift it out to center. Kicked down by [65:57] Dorststead. Oh, a chance there. [65:59] Kelzenberg nearly had it roll right into [66:03] her path. [66:06] Snapped ahead, tipped into the zone, but [66:09] the speedy Annabelle Buchoni recovers. [66:12] uncharacteristic of her as such a small [66:15] player to get a penalty-like body [66:17] checking. She really laid the lumber. [66:19] Not [66:21] known more for her speed than her size [66:23] and strength. [66:26] Walt or Wagner rather. Avery Wagner [66:28] twoon two for SCSLP as they gain the [66:31] zone. Wagner back hands it off the side [66:33] of the net. [66:38] Handover transitions from defense to [66:42] offense. [66:44] Tegan Olsson's drop pass intercepted by [66:46] Josie Kelzenberg who redines it down and [66:49] ices the puck. 8-10 to go. Second [66:52] period. [66:55] Shots in the period all in favor of [66:58] CSLP. 8 to one. They lead it on the [67:01] scoreboard as well. [67:07] He has such back out there. Top line for [67:10] the Cougs [67:16] off the draw though. Gurtis. She's [67:19] looked dangerous. Drops it for Kluff. [67:22] Cut off at the pass by Yulan. [67:26] Ball gets there first. Such banks it [67:29] ahead. Looking for Logger. run into, [67:32] however, by Aubrey Kelly. [67:38] Intercepted by Kluff at the blue line. [67:43] They force a turnover. Larson centering [67:45] pass. Good stick to lift on Payton [67:48] Haley. [67:55] And over moving the puck quickly, but [67:56] that was an errant pass. [67:59] More of a get it in the zone and they'll [68:01] try to change on the fly. [68:05] Pluff can't hold the zone. Logger trying [68:07] to track it down. She'll get there. [68:09] Logger backhanded it in front. Had such [68:12] crashing the net. CSLP possessed it for [68:16] a moment, but now Andover and Julia [68:19] Gertis able to take it. They'll try to [68:22] catch CSLP on the on the change. Gertis [68:25] drives the net. Sharp angle shot. No, [68:27] still has it. Gurtis circling the zone. [68:34] Drops it here for Piper Andrews. Andrews [68:37] gets it back between the rings looking [68:39] for Shriles. [68:41] Helps it along for Iceland Larson. [68:48] Well played there by CSLP. Here comes [68:51] Annabelle. Biconei [68:53] lift and chase past Hills. Trifles gets [68:57] there first for Andover. [69:01] Goes up the boards. Kramer holds the [69:03] zone for the Cougs. [69:07] Perau center looking for Walters. [69:11] Gloved but or cleared but not out. [69:14] Gloved down by Yulan. Now Perau getting [69:17] away from Shrifles. [69:19] Goes up the wall back. held at the point [69:22] by ref and her shot handled comfortably [69:25] by Clara Bella Hills. [69:30] We talked about Andover. They don't [69:32] score a ton, averaging less than three [69:34] goals a game, 2.81, [69:37] but they also are stingy defensively, [69:39] which is why the 8-1 score line was bit [69:42] of a surprise to see. [69:45] They give up uh 2.14 [69:48] goals a game allowed per game. So they [69:51] don't score a ton, but they don't [69:52] concede a ton either. A well drilled [69:55] bunch. Melissa Vulks crew. [70:00] Centering pass. Nobody was home. Yulan [70:03] was up at the point. So it's carried on [70:05] out by Andover. Here come the Huskies [70:08] on the backhand centering looking for a [70:10] crashing Alexis Wagner. And we got [70:14] another penalty coming up. Another trip. [70:17] And this time I believe it's Josie [70:19] Kelzenberg. [70:25] Third penalty of the period taken by the [70:28] Cougars. [70:35] Two trips and a [70:41] body checking. [70:46] Handover so far 0 for two with the [70:48] player advantage. [70:51] In fact, last time CSLP scored, the only [70:54] goal of the game was short-handed. So, [70:58] >> try to double that out. [71:05] >> 11:36 the time of the penalty. Hand [71:08] over. [71:10] See if they can do something different. [71:12] Grace Logger with a chance. Logger rips [71:15] and fires and will and Hills crashed [71:17] into by one of her own teammates, but [71:20] able to make the save. Hopefully she's [71:22] okay. [71:26] Logger I I thought was going to drive [71:28] the net, but instead she just stopped [71:30] between the rings and ripped one. And [71:32] then coming back, Iceland Larson lost [71:35] control and crashed into Claire Bellah [71:38] Hills. [71:44] But again, another draw forced in the [71:46] Huskies end when they're on the power [71:49] play [71:54] as such [71:58] off the face. [72:00] Sister Bella was a really good [72:02] basketball player at Spring Lake Park. [72:09] Into the zone comes Larson. She throws [72:11] it in front. Nobody home. Kluff. [72:18] Loses her edge, but still able to center [72:21] it. [72:23] Comes away with it. [72:27] Not real authoritative on the clear, but [72:29] does get it out to center. [72:32] >> Kloff at the line, moves middle, decides [72:35] to shoot. [72:37] nearly reaches the goalender, but [72:39] instead it's cleared off the window and [72:41] out. [72:43] >> So, better, but still no official shots [72:47] on goal, at least according to the [72:48] scoreboard. Still just one in the period [72:51] for the Huskies. Poked away nicely by [72:55] Grace Logger. [72:58] That aggressive penalty power penalty [73:01] kill has been effective. Gertis trying [73:04] to tow drag her way past Wagner and [73:06] can't. [73:08] And now Mia Such Chuck chases onto a [73:10] loose puck. Such has already scored one [73:12] short-handed goal. She can't score [73:14] another pad save made by Hills. [73:18] Six seconds left on the tripping miner. [73:21] And Centennial SLP three for three on [73:24] the penalty kill in this second period. [73:30] Yulan [73:32] >> evades the check of Iceland Larson. [73:36] >> Ella Perau above the left circle tries [73:38] to find her teammate cutting to the net. [73:41] Loose puck in front. Hills down. Bodies [73:44] everywhere as Gertis goes down. Gurtis [73:47] has been in the mix protecting her net [73:50] minder a bunch as [73:54] Hill seems okay. But CSLP has certainly [73:57] had chances as such could not uh double [74:03] the lead. [74:05] And then a chance here as Perau [74:08] centered and then the puck found its way [74:11] onto a stick and ultimately again it's [74:13] Renslo [74:15] mixing it up with Taylor Shriles [74:19] and in fact we have a penalty on Trifles [74:25] as the Andover captain sits in the box [74:28] and it's going to be a power play for [74:30] the Cougars. [74:32] Each team has now committed three [74:34] penalties. [74:37] >> That might have been for the [74:38] extracurriculars after [74:42] >> logger [74:44] >> crosschecking on trifles [74:46] >> at 1345. [74:48] Annabelle Buchaoney [74:51] goes off the end boards trying to tow [74:53] drag it. One-time up and out of play and [74:55] oh Grace [74:57] Logger wanted that one back. [75:06] Yeah, it's one thing to protect your [75:08] goalie, but sometimes you can violate [75:11] the letter of the law doing that. [75:16] >> Logger off the draw in front, throws on [75:19] a net. Hills makes the save. Backhanded [75:22] opportunity and then Logger fans on it. [75:25] Logger was crashing the net. Good [75:27] pressure this from CSLP. Baone Tess [75:31] Hills and she makes the save and then [75:33] comes out and grabs it. Hills not afraid [75:38] to get to the edge of that blue paint to [75:41] make the save [75:43] as you see multiple excellent chances. [75:46] Had to handle that one up high from [75:47] Bucha. [75:50] So the second power play unit out there [75:52] now for CSLP [75:59] one back to the point with ball logger [76:03] for BA from the right dot shoots AND [76:06] THEY SCORE. [76:08] I think it was tipped in front and I [76:11] think it was me as such her second [76:14] special teams goal of the period. This [76:17] one on the power play and it's two [76:19] nothing Cougars. [76:23] Baone threw it in front. Such tipped it [76:27] home. A deflected goal. [76:31] Cougars outshooting the Huskies in this [76:33] second period 15- [76:37] one [76:38] and they have asserted their dominance [76:41] on the score sheet as well. [76:45] So Baone you figure will get the primary [76:48] assist. [76:53] >> Goal number two for [76:54] >> such [76:57] numbers [77:01] >> and logger gets a helper as well. [77:09] >> 1431. So such from Buchonian logger on [77:12] the power play at 1431 [77:15] of the second period [77:19] two nothing and will we see a repeat as [77:23] Andover's got a twoon one the other way [77:25] shot that goes wide and again just [77:28] didn't hit the net Payton Haley missed [77:30] on that one shot unable to be held by [77:33] Wland [77:36] she failed to grab that effort from the [77:38] point forced back out to neutral. [77:41] [cheering] [77:46] >> Yulan picks it up behind her own net [77:48] with a minute 20 remaining in the [77:51] period. Up ahead for Jania who gains the [77:53] zone. Jania [77:55] works to the outside. [77:58] Knocked off the puck by Kluff. [78:03] Kluff with speed down the right wing. [78:08] still has it. Kind of lost speed there a [78:11] little bit. [78:12] >> Gets it back at the right point. [78:14] Bounding puck picked up. Here comes Mia [78:16] Such again. Jes [78:19] left dot shoots and it's a blocker save [78:22] from Hills. [78:26] Oh, excellent chance there. Oh, my bad. [78:30] I said it was nine. It was actually [78:32] eight. Avery Wagner testing hills. [78:37] Heading for the hills. you might say. [78:39] And Hills ultimately made the save with [78:42] 50 seconds remaining in the period. Two [78:44] nothing Cougars lead. [78:48] Faceoff one back to the point. Avery [78:51] again testing the net minder. And that's [78:53] a save. Wagner moving in. She's had a [78:56] good shift right here. [78:59] >> Stolen. Wagner in front on the backand. [79:02] And Hills makes another save. Boy, Hills [79:05] has been tested. [79:10] In this second period, [79:13] she has faced 16 shots, including a pair [79:18] more there. [79:21] Able to just kind of paddle it back to [79:23] herself. [79:29] Such with two power two special teams [79:32] goals in this period, [79:34] >> one short-handed, one on the power play. [79:38] as they try to get one more ball. [79:44] >> Curtis leaning on her. [79:47] >> Kramer comes down to play it. Bounding [79:49] puck. Perhaps one more chance. 10 [79:52] seconds left for Andover. Centering pass [79:55] and it hits a stick. [79:58] >> Gurtis into the zone, but the play is [80:00] ruled offside. [80:13] Just two shots in this period for [80:15] Andover. They've been outsh shot 16-2 [80:19] by Centennial Spring Lake Park [80:23] as the horn sounds in this second [80:25] period. Mia Such scores short-handed and [80:29] then scores on the power play near the [80:31] end of the period and the Cougars take a [80:33] two nothing lead over the Andover [80:35] Huskies to our second intermission. back [80:38] with highlights, analysis, and more from [80:40] Centennial Sports Arena in a moment here [80:43] on North Metro TV. [92:40] Two nothing our score as we start the [92:42] third period of play here in Circle [92:44] Pines. Centennial SLP looking to win its [92:47] eighth straight and defeat Andover for [92:49] the second time in the last two weeks. [92:51] Let's look at second period highlights. [92:53] And for CSLP, there were a couple. Well, [92:57] it started with Mia as such scoring [92:59] short-handed early in the period. [93:03] CSLP penalty kill a short-handed goal [93:05] three for three tonight. [93:07] They outshot Andover in the period 16-2 [93:12] as they reasserted themselves [93:15] and really made Clare Bella Hills work. [93:20] He is such nearly shorted scoring [93:22] short-handed again [93:24] finally late in the period. CSLP had its [93:27] own power play and Annabelle Buchony's [93:29] shot from the dot tipped in by Mia such [93:34] for another goal [93:36] and that's where we stand to rip. [93:40] Cougars lead the Huskies. Bill Hup [93:43] a solo mission tonight for North Metro [93:45] TV. Don't forget to stay tuned for our [93:48] postgame interviews. No doubt Mia will [93:51] be one of them. We'll pick another [93:53] player as well to talk to. [93:56] As we've got 17 minutes up on the clock, [93:58] ready to start this third period of [93:59] action. [94:03] Tegan Olsen against Josie Kelzenberg at [94:07] center ice. [94:11] Off the dot, it's swept in the zone by [94:14] Katherine Jania. [94:16] And immediately the Cougars get back on [94:18] the offense. Janineia loses out to Olen [94:21] tries to help it along. Kelzenberg in [94:23] the way. Geneia recovers. [94:27] Larson, [94:30] goes down. No penalty. They shake their [94:33] heads at that. Olsson tracking it. Yulan [94:37] able to get there first. Good stick lift [94:39] though. [94:42] Picked up here by number 23 Alexis [94:45] Wagner. Back to the point. [94:47] >> Good pressure though and the Cougars [94:49] force it out of the zone. [94:52] Captain Taylor Schiff's [94:54] sacred heart commit. Little casual with [94:57] it. Loses it to Avery Wagner. Such in [95:00] there as well. Forced back up the wall. [95:02] Shot from the point. Deflected wideone [95:06] comes down about around the outside the [95:08] left circle and forces it in deep. [95:10] Trifles can't clear. [95:13] They cycle it. Finally Shriles in the [95:15] way. Flips it off of ball and out to [95:17] center ice [95:19] into the zone. from Iceland Larson. Good [95:21] job by Grace Logger to disrupt her shot. [95:26] Tipped past Gurtis [95:29] Kluff [95:30] tries to force it back in the zone. Such [95:33] picks it up. Two on two for CSLP. [95:36] Pass across for Logger and her shot from [95:39] the slot is blocked down. [95:42] >> Fensky get in the way of that one. [95:46] >> Larson in front of her own bench. [95:53] Uone [95:55] zips it in and goes off for a change. [96:01] Grounding puck right into the path of [96:03] Gertis. [96:04] Curtis trying to tow drag her way [96:06] through. Stood up nicely. It's loose in [96:09] front [96:10] and finally Cougar's able to clear. [96:18] Poor clearance there. [96:20] Perau will just backhand it in deep. [96:23] Rens, great pass out front. Walters. Pad [96:26] save made. Another pad save made by [96:29] Hills. [96:31] That first save she made was excellent. [96:36] Now a board battle along the end boards [96:38] and Perau comes up with it. Perau [96:41] looking for a pass decides to reverse [96:43] course to Reno. [96:46] Another [96:48] goal you feel like would just about ice [96:50] it for CSLP. [96:53] Of course, [96:55] >> you saw the Cougs score five against [96:57] this Andover team last time they met, so [97:02] you never know. Andover without numbers. [97:06] They pull up in the midst of a change [97:08] and Trifles back hands it in. [97:13] >> Logger in the right wing corner. [97:19] Beg your pardon. That's Yulan. [97:21] Reverses course for ref. [97:25] >> Cleared but not out. Now a chance here. [97:28] Mattie Walter [97:30] trying to walk her way through and [97:32] knocked off the puck by Tegan Olsen. [97:35] Loose lumber on the ice as Andover ices [97:39] the puck and the draw will come back [97:40] down. That was a nice three and a half [97:42] minutes of flowing hockey to start the [97:45] period. [97:50] >> Amazing. 116 the shots in favor of [97:53] Andover after the first period. Now it's [97:55] 2313 [97:57] CSLP [98:06] helped along here out in front and a [98:09] great chance off the end boards. What a [98:11] centering pass for Josie Kelzenberg [98:15] but Hills was square to it and made a [98:17] nice save. [98:20] >> Outstanding centering pass there by [98:22] Katherine Janeia. [98:24] What a find. [98:26] But ultimately Kelzenberg could not beat [98:30] Hills. [98:33] >> Wagner holds the zone. Banks it off the [98:36] end boards and off the side of the net. [98:40] Andrews [98:42] has her pass intercepted by Bucha who [98:47] decides to just regain the zone. She'll [98:49] fire from the slot. Glove save made. [98:54] Four minutes gone by here in the third [98:56] period. Still a two nothing lead for the [98:58] Cougars [99:00] trying to pick up their 19th win of the [99:03] regular season and their ninth [99:05] conference victory. [99:25] Raph reverses course and turns it over. [99:38] >> Chance now for Andover on the backhand [99:41] walking right up Main Street [99:46] off the wall. centering pass right into [99:48] the path of Logger. Logger's got a [99:50] speeding such to her left. Grace Logger [99:53] decides to take it herself and she hits [99:55] the post. [99:58] Comes around and plays it off the left [99:59] half wall. Mia Such on a hattick drops [100:02] it back for Logger. Her shot deflected. [100:05] Such still on it [100:09] to Logger AND THEY SCORE. [100:12] Fantastic teamwork. Perau to logger from [100:16] a knee. Three nothing Cougars. [100:23] Great centering pass and Logger has a [100:26] goal now to go with her assist tonight. [100:29] 10th of the season. As you see, Perau [100:32] just feeds it in the slot. And Logger [100:35] was there to make no mistake. [100:39] So now they have done it all. [100:42] short-handed goal, power play, and an [100:44] even strength tally. [100:47] As you figure that'll be [100:50] either a single assist or [100:53] they'll throw Such's name on there as [100:55] well. [101:04] >> Yep. Mia such [101:10] >> surprised that Peralt didn't get the [101:12] first assist, [101:15] >> but it's officially logger from such and [101:17] Peralt at 458. [101:20] And so Mia Such has been involved in all [101:24] three goals tonight. Scored two of them [101:26] and assisted on the third. [101:29] Lofted back out to center ice by Baone [101:34] and the icing will bring it back down [101:36] into the Cougar end. Stops the clock [101:37] with 1108 to go third period. [101:46] Such scored a short-handed unassisted [101:48] goal and then on the power play assisted [101:52] by Bakonian Logger and then [101:56] was the primary assistter along with [101:59] Peralt [102:02] for the Grace Logger goal here in the [102:04] third. Two in the second, one in the [102:06] third. [102:08] Nice move by Kluff above the left [102:10] circle. Hits a teammate out in front. [102:12] Gurtis was trying to provide a screen. [102:15] provided too good of a screen, I guess. [102:21] Wagner in the left wing circle. [102:26] Go high off the glass. Kluff finds her [102:29] teammate Gurtis up ahead looking for [102:32] Piper Andrews. [102:35] Cougar goes to the ice and we've got a [102:37] penalty. [102:41] Multiple [102:42] downs, so we'll see who gets called for [102:44] the cross check. And it looks like [102:53] looks like it's going to be [102:57] Yeah. Josie Kelzenberg. [103:00] Second penalty in as many periods for [103:02] Kelzenberg. The cross check. [103:08] First penalty of three for three so far [103:10] on the kill. [103:13] Kelzenberg. A little bit of a [103:14] frustration penalty there. [103:18] Up ahead, Grace Logger trying to control [103:20] it neutral. Oh, she could have had a [103:22] breakaway if she had been able to bring [103:24] it out of the air, but [103:33] >> 629 the time of the penalty. Now, this [103:36] aggressive kill has been [103:39] really good tonight for CSLP. We [103:42] mentioned three for three. They've also [103:44] short scored a short-handed goal. [103:46] They've had a couple other [103:46] opportunities. [103:48] Earned multiple faceoffs down in the end [103:50] over end and logger trying to re leak [103:53] out just like that. But ultimately Hills [103:56] way out of her net basically between the [103:59] rings and decides to take the whistle. [104:03] His logger just sort of just sort of [104:05] hangs out at neutral, walks the line, [104:07] and then is looking to leak out and [104:11] skate on to a to a puck. her teammates [104:13] know to hit her. It's like a long outlet [104:16] pass in basketball. I hate to make a [104:19] basketball analogy during a hockey game, [104:20] but I just did. [104:23] I think it made sense. [104:26] Backhanded and then intercepted by ref [104:28] at the line. Gets it back from her [104:30] teammate. [104:32] Tipped into the zone by Walter. And [104:34] Hills once again [104:40] makes a wise decision. Less than a [104:42] minute left on this cross-checking minor [104:49] as Renslo will [104:52] sub Peralt. Another faceoff down in the [104:56] Andover end inside of 10 minutes to go [104:58] in this third period. [105:01] Cougars outshooting the Huskies two to [105:03] one. 28-4 now. [105:06] Huskies just three shots [105:09] in a period and a half since the end of [105:11] the first period. Renzo's got her stick [105:13] tied up looking for a call from the ref, [105:15] but none came. So here come the Huskies. [105:19] They regain the zone. [105:22] Well played by ref to stop that Kluff [105:26] from just off the boards and a save made [105:30] by Ka Wland who you said hasn't had much [105:33] to do. Just faced four shots since the [105:35] first period. [105:37] 15 saves tonight for the junior. [105:48] Ball picks it up right wing corner. [105:51] Can't get it out of her skates. [105:54] Battling down there with Shelby Larson. [105:57] Larson and Lily Roffler. [106:08] helped along and then thrown on net [106:12] >> by Shriles [106:14] and then stolen away. Lillian Renslo [106:16] could have a chance. Rens poked away by [106:21] Taylor Shriles. Can see why she's a [106:23] division one player, just a junior as [106:26] the Cougars are full strength. Four for [106:29] four in penalty kills tonight. Chance [106:32] here for Kelzenberg and she whistles it [106:34] high. [106:37] Good zone hold there [106:40] by the Cougars. Rensow from between the [106:42] rings. Pad save made. Kelzenberg [106:48] picked up eventually [106:51] by Shriles. Her pass a little too hard [106:54] for Raler. [106:57] Good stick lift by Shriles. [107:01] No doubt a lot of these kids know each [107:03] other, having grown up in the same area, [107:05] played with each other before. [107:15] Trifles sees her pass deflected off a [107:18] Cougar skate picked up by Gertis [107:22] into the zone. Gertis waits, fires, [107:25] bounding puck. kind of handcuffed Kaio [107:28] Island a little bit but didn't go far [107:30] and she was able to pounce on it and get [107:32] the whistle. [107:36] That hold [107:38] lined up to block it but [107:40] ultimately Julia Gertis stuck on 13 [107:44] goals. Andover still looking to light [107:46] the lamp for the first time tonight. [107:56] cleared but not out. Well, ultimately it [107:59] was out as despite Kluff's best efforts. [108:04] Now, a little bit of a miscommunication. [108:06] Josie Kelzenberg trying to pounce. [108:12] Ref along the half wall. [108:16] >> Helped along by Wagner to the opposite [108:19] side. Cross ice pass. [108:22] Picked off at center ice by ref. Wagner [108:25] into the zone. Wagner waits, holds, [108:27] sharp angle shot. Kenberg [108:30] tried to pounce on the rebound, but [108:32] ultimately Hills makes the save. Stopped [108:35] 27 of 30 shots that she's faced tonight. [108:45] Like two shots there. I wonder if they [108:50] 646 to go [108:53] in the third period as the faceoff is [108:55] one off the post. Katie Ball follow-up [108:58] effort that goes wide. [109:01] Ref [109:03] back to ref at the point through traffic [109:06] and Hills snags it and holds on. [109:16] Each team has [109:22] >> I should say Andover's committed three [109:24] penalties. CSLP four. [109:30] CSLP one for three on the power play [109:33] tonight as that one is iced. [109:42] Hard to believe the regular season's [109:44] almost coming to an end, but [109:47] we're uh [109:49] going to be in the back half of January [109:51] next week. We're already in the back [109:54] half of January, but we're really going [109:55] to be in the latter stages next week. [109:58] And then once February hits, that's uh [110:00] playoff time. [110:04] Trace Logger [110:06] shares it across. Shot from above the [110:08] right circle. Logger was crashing [110:12] and the nets off its mooring. So the [110:14] whistle stops play. [110:18] Allows both teams to make a change. [110:28] shots in the period 10-3 [110:32] in favor of the Cougs. [110:38] Uone at the point, throws it down low, [110:42] deflected. That would have been a pretty [110:43] goal if Walters had been able to pull it [110:46] off, but ultimately handover skates back [110:49] with it. Pass across, intercepted, well [110:52] read beautifully by Bucha. [110:55] now surrounded by Huskys somehow able to [110:57] get it out. [110:59] A pass a little bit too much though [111:02] and it's swept back in by Dorstat. [111:14] >> Helped along just out of the reach of [111:16] Lillian Rensow and I don't think she's [111:18] going to able to be able to get there. [111:21] She'd been able to track it down. She [111:23] might have had a breakaway, but just a [111:25] little too far ahead of her. [111:31] We talked about Elena Ganette. She'll [111:33] obviously be key to have her come back [111:36] for games against [111:39] number three [111:41] Minnotonka, number four Hill Murray. [111:45] She had a uh part of the team USA squad [111:49] that became the first team to earn a [111:51] perfect gold in turn tournament history. [111:54] 6 and0 60 and0 technically defeating [111:59] Canada two nothing in the championship [112:00] game. [112:02] She was named the player of the game for [112:04] a four-point effort. Two goals and a [112:06] pair of assists in a nine nothing win [112:09] over Finland. [112:11] pressure this on the four check by [112:13] Andover to force the turnover, but the [112:14] centering pass goes Becky back up to the [112:17] point. Shot tipped in front. Larson [112:20] nearly redirected it in and this time [112:22] she does. [112:27] Iceland Larson [112:29] collects the goal in front and it's [112:32] three to one as Larson picks up her [112:35] eighth of the season. [112:42] Just right place, right time. You would [112:44] barely know it. Great feed in front [112:46] there from Captain Piper Andrews. [112:51] And Andover able to uh [112:56] get get one back with a little less than [112:59] five minutes left to play. [113:02] [cheering] [113:06] An even strength goal. And now the [113:08] Andover fans jumping a little bit. [113:18] >> They gave Gertis the goal. Looked to me [113:20] like Andrews, but Gertis gets the [113:22] assist. Her team lead 17th of the [113:25] season. 1212 time of the goal as that [113:27] shot from the point by Buchoni is gloved [113:30] and held on to. [113:38] always rising, but Hills had to be sure [113:49] >> off the draw. Trifles backhands it [113:52] around. [114:10] cleared but not out. Puchicone winds, [114:13] fires and it hits a blocker in front. [114:17] Puchicone one more time. That time [114:20] deflected up and out of play believe [114:23] off. [114:26] Alexis Wagner who deflected it [114:33] up and out of play. Stops the clock with [114:36] 348 left [114:42] in the third period. Mia Such wins it [114:45] cleanly back to Buchoney at the point. [114:48] She'll throw it on net. Turned aside [114:50] easily by Hills and then ball run into [114:56] Handover definitely the more physical of [114:58] the team as far as [115:00] far as checking and [115:04] as close to checking as you're allowed [115:06] to get at least in girls hockey. [115:13] Ball loses it and now it finds its way [115:16] to Grace Logger. Sends it across FOR MIA [115:18] SUCH ON a hattick and she can't finish. [115:21] just couldn't quite settle the bounding [115:23] puck. Logger still on it. [115:28] [screaming] [115:29] >> Deflected shot saved. [115:32] Ball scrapping along the end boards. [115:35] Such on it out to Logger from the [115:37] circle. Good blocker save made by Hills. [115:42] Long shift for both of these teams. [115:48] Logger [115:49] prevents it from leaving the zone. Such [115:52] loose in the slot. Logger [115:55] oozes out to ref and then ref shot hits [115:57] Logger. [115:58] CSLP all kinds of spacing issues here on [116:02] this possession. And they'll try to [116:04] change on the fly. Walter hops on the [116:07] ice and collects at center ice. [116:10] >> Oh, well done defensively by Fensky to [116:12] force her to the wall. [116:15] It's [116:18] >> about two minutes to go. Third period. [116:21] >> Big check delivered and Wensow looked [116:24] like she uh objected to that. [116:29] Rens centering pass. Nobody was home. [116:34] Carried out instead by Lily Roller. [116:39] Wensow's been involved in a lot of the [116:41] physicality tonight. [116:43] >> [screaming] [116:44] >> Tipped ahead. Walter into the path of [116:46] Renow up ahead for trying to get Walter [116:49] and it's stolen instead by Alexa [116:52] Dorstan. [116:59] 130 to go. [117:03] Dorstad with the goalie in the uh goalie [117:07] out. Extra attacker on. [117:10] >> Chance for a potential empty net. [117:17] Alexis Wagner speeding into the zone but [117:20] loses it at the line. [117:24] They're two bitter Northwest Suburban [117:26] Conference rivals. [117:28] So not surprised to see it get a little [117:30] chippy. Shot save. Bounding puck loose [117:33] in the slot. Hand over scrapping and [117:37] covered well by [117:39] Ka Wland. Curtis was in there. Hand over [117:44] with the empty net. [117:47] And they'll keep it empty for now [117:50] as they got the extra attacker out [117:52] there. An all important draw coming up [117:54] with just 56 seconds to play. [118:02] And a timeout taken by Andover to try to [118:05] draw something up here. [118:08] >> As we take a look at the upcoming [118:09] schedule for Centennial Spring Lake [118:12] Park, [118:16] you see the last couple results. [118:20] And again, Minnetonka on Thursday at [118:24] Anoka next Tuesday. And then uh Friday [118:28] night, January 31st, a tasty homecoming [118:32] game against Hill Murray [118:36] that uh features Emily Pole, who was [118:40] teammates on Team USA with [118:43] Elena Ganets. [118:47] They certainly are not afraid to [118:48] schedule anyone. Sean Molen [118:51] will schedule anyone as Melissa Vul [118:57] uh [119:02] instruct her kids on what she wants them [119:04] to do here with [119:07] a faceoff coming in the right circle. [119:09] Shawn Molen [119:13] looking on. He doesn't look too [119:14] stressed. [119:19] allows the top defenders to be out [119:21] there. [119:29] Ka Win trying to focus in and pick up [119:32] what would be her 14th win of the [119:35] season. Outstanding numbers from Wyland [119:39] who if nothing changes would lower her [119:41] goals against average even more this [119:44] season. off the faceoff [119:48] along the endboards trying to find [119:51] traffic in front and in fact Wy gets [119:54] tangled up with uh Alexis Wagner the [119:58] sophomore who was in the kitchen of Wy [120:06] Logger such that line coming back on the [120:09] ice for CSLP for this last 45 seconds. [120:21] >> One back to the point. Trifles, tries to [120:24] go down the wall and is able to. [120:27] This hit delivered by Baone. [120:31] Poked free. Net still empty for Andover. [120:36] Centered backhand looking for Gurtis. [120:39] Oh, good stick handling. Good drags from [120:42] or dangles I should say from Bakonei. [120:45] Such pokes it free. She's on a hattick. [120:49] Well done there by Shriles to get in her [120:51] way. Now Logger finds it on her stick at [120:54] center ice. Gertis tracks back to take [120:57] it off her stick. Good back checking [120:59] shot from distance. Spilled out in [121:02] front. [121:03] Bodies crash into the end boards and [121:06] time expires here at Centennial Sports [121:10] Arena. [121:12] Slow start for Centennial SLP, but they [121:15] find their sea legs in the second period [121:18] and they cruise to a 3 to1 victory here [121:22] over rival Andover at home. Postgame [121:25] interviews coming up next on North Metro [121:27] TV. And our final score, Centennial SLP [121:30] 3 and over one. Back with postgame [121:34] interviews shortly here from Circle [121:35] Pines. [121:53] Heat. [122:05] Heat. [122:14] Heat. [122:27] Heat. [122:35] Heat. Heat. [135:14] Back here at Centennial after Centennial [135:17] SLP's three to1 victory over rival [135:19] Andover. I'm here rinkside with Mia [135:22] Such. And uh Mia, you had uh two goals [135:26] and an assist tonight. Uh what was [135:28] working so effectively for for that top [135:30] scoring line? Yeah, I think just getting [135:32] to the net, getting the puck low, and [135:33] just overall just starting out, getting [135:36] the puck out of the D zone and beating [135:37] their D really helped us to get the puck [135:39] to the goal line and into the net. [135:41] >> Not too often that you're outsh shot 11 [135:43] to six in a period. Kind of a slow [135:45] start. What was the message in the [135:46] locker room at the first intermission [135:48] that that kind of jump started you guys [135:49] in the second period? [135:50] >> Yeah, I think we all just realized that [135:52] that wasn't our best play. That wasn't [135:53] who we are and that's not who we're [135:55] trying to be. And so, I think just [135:57] overall we just knew that we needed to [135:58] pick it up. We knew that we needed more [136:00] shots and we knew that we needed to [136:01] score and start to shut down their team. [136:03] >> Um, you had a really aggressive kill [136:05] tonight, four for four, a short-handed [136:08] goal. Um, what's the what's the approach [136:10] on the penalty kill that's allowed you [136:12] guys to be so successful? [136:13] >> Yeah, I think just starting by winning [136:14] the draw and then just getting the puck [136:16] out and just not letting them set up in [136:17] their zone and, you know, taking every [136:19] chance you get to try and go get a [136:21] short-handed goal just always is nice [136:23] and scoring on the scoring short-handed [136:25] is always the best. So, [136:26] >> special teams points. Yes, for sure. [136:28] >> Also down here with uh junior net minder [136:31] Kaia Wland. And Kaia, you know, the [136:33] offense is so prolific, almost six [136:35] scores goals a game that the defense [136:37] kind of gets overshadowed sometimes, but [136:39] uh you guys uh just another goal [136:41] tonight, lowering that goals against [136:43] average. Talk about the defensive effort [136:45] tonight. [136:45] >> Um I think our defensive effort super [136:48] strong. I mean, obviously we're very [136:50] offensive team. We score a ton, but I [136:52] think for sure we get overlooked, but I [136:54] think it's um a very like core to our [136:56] team. Is it a challenge for you as a net [136:58] minder knowing that like you're [137:00] sometimes going to face two shots in a [137:02] period like you did in the second? How [137:03] do you maintain your focus for when [137:05] those opportunities do come your way? [137:07] >> I think after every whistle I always [137:09] just skate to the corner. Um I just do a [137:11] little reset and I always just make sure [137:13] that I'm talking to my D and I'm just in [137:14] the game. [137:16] >> Eight games in a row that you have won. [137:18] A couple over Andover, a couple over [137:20] Holy Family. Um, as the playoffs are [137:23] looming around the corner, you have to [137:24] feel pretty good about how this team is [137:26] playing right now. [137:27] >> Yeah, I feel great. Um, I trust my team [137:28] a ton. So, that definitely helps. And [137:30] I'm just super excited for the upcoming [137:32] games. [137:32] >> How important is it going to be to get [137:34] Elena Cassettes back from Team USA? [137:36] >> I'm super excited to get her back and [137:38] it's definitely going to help us out a [137:40] lot. [137:41] >> Not that Centennial SLP needs much help. [137:43] They pick up their 19th win of the [137:45] season tonight 3-1 over Andover at home. [137:49] For our entire crew at North Metro TV, [137:52] I'm Bill Hub saying good night from [137:53] Circle Pines. Again, the final [137:56] Centennial Spring Lake Park three and [137:59] over one. Thanks for watching this [138:00] exclusive presentation on North Metro [138:03] TV.
