Centennial District Highlights Vibrant Student Life and Strong Community Ties
From academic achievements to spirited community fundraisers, students and residents demonstrate exceptional commitment to educational excellence despite broader financial challenges.
The Centennial School District is witnessing a thriving landscape of student achievements and robust community engagement, with schools serving as hubs for diverse activities and collaborative initiatives. Students from William Tennant High School and the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) are actively participating in a wide array of programs, showcasing their talents, leadership, and commitment to both their education and their wider community.
At William Tennant High School, student life is bustling with various presentations and activities. The school's bands regularly perform, alongside vibrant debate club sessions and an active Key Club. The fall play brought theatrical performances to the community, while numerous sports teams fostered camaraderie and athletic prowess. These activities are frequently supported by student-led fundraisers, indicating a proactive approach to enhancing school programs.
The Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) continues to be a beacon of vocational excellence, with students achieving success in programs such as dental assisting, cosmetology, and automotive technology. Beyond the classroom, MBIT students have demonstrated strong leadership, participating in the Pennsylvania District 2 Skills USA fall leadership conference held at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos, and HOSA officers and student leaders engaging in specialized training in Hershey. Their commitment extends to community service, organizing fundraisers and contributing to initiatives like the 'Drive Away the Cold' campaign, which provides coats for children in need across the Delaware Valley.
It is costing our district tens of thousands of dollars a week in lost income. There are school districts out there such as Morrisville and Bristol that if they don't have a budget by the first of the year will be required to make some drastic changes. Some of them are even talking about maybe not even being able to reopen.
