Anything you want to add to that, Eron? No, they're pretty much they ready to go if we approve this. Yep. They're approved. They're eager. And then CHS student council handed out candy to teachers for teacher appreciation week last week and SBA went to Cville Specialty Care to play games and paint their nails. Some of the football boys did that. I saw those pictures and I loved it. Yeah. High school track with the help with the lake trackmate today and CHS band who received a two-way art and that's it. So what's your incentive? I like to like watch movies and there's like sounds fun. She's more concerned. Look at her. She's worried about the learning and not trying to figure out what she could do to get out of learning. That's why Kim's awesome. Like there's all sorts of cool things planned. I think I heard there are I heard it's up for negotiations. You try to negotiate through use those skills. I think you heard Mr. Moore volunteer to be there. Did you hear that? I thought that's what I heard. Well, there'll be food involved because activities at the park, activities at the YMCA. Oh, fun. So, is everybody ready for the school year to be over? You kind of want to drag it into June a little bit. No, he speaks as himself. Nobody does. How did mock trial go? It was fun. Did you have fun? All right. Well, thank you for this past year coming and speaking to us. You've been very faithful to do that and we very much appreciate it. So, thank you. All right. Any other questions or comments? What says ar motion to approve? Second and second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I. I post same sign. Contract has been approved. Item D, approval of the purchase orders for the STEM best award. So we got that grant. It's 40,000 matching the 20,000 of our dollars. Um, and so we have some invoices in here, some purchase orders in here, uh, for your approval to outfit that room. So, it is across from the woods room, uh, the room on the right. Um, so that'll that'll be a whole new really neat looking room because of all this furniture and the new technology getting put in there. It'll be used uh for technology classes during the day, um, as a lab that people can go into, some for robotics, some for esports as well. Um, so just something that we were able to get a little grant money from the state for. So kind of excited. You know, I just I remember when we started all this, it was like getting to use computers and use this and use that now all this money and make it a first class thing. So I think we've come a long way. So like I know this a little bit off topic, but do they have jerseys to go to speak with? No, but Jared and I have been talking about that and even like wearing jerseys during our game days so that they kind of, you know, stand out right the day like football. Yeah, just to kind of make that team feel. I just remember going up to one of the tournaments up there and just have that feel as a team. I think that was our first year too that we made it up when you showed up. Yeah. And I haven't I guess I haven't known what the dates were again, but it was we didn't make it this year, but if we do next year, I'll sure let you know. Move to approve. Okay. Motion to approve. Second. Second. Any further discussion? Hearing none. All those in favor signify by saying I I post same sign. Purchase has been approved. E. Approve the list of graduating seniors. Motion to approve. Second. Got a motion and a second. Any further discussion? We're all good to go. They will be. So if they're on the list, they still have to meet all the requirements. We got a couple on the edge. Couple. We're working. Always on the edge. All right. Yeah. All those in favor of approving the list of graduating seniors, signify by saying I. I. Post. Same sign. There you go, Jenny. Make it happen. Uh discussion on graduation. Graduation is on Sunday. Sunday. Um, so we typically need two board members uh to come uh one to pass out diplomas and one to shake hands. Um, you do not have to speak, which I think kind of helps people. We don't have to plan the future or anything for it. Um, so I think last year it was Mike and Carol, right? No, no, Carol. That's right. I see I've mixed up years already. I didn't think I'd ever do that, but here I am already. Um, but just need two people who would be interested in coming and doing that. I I would like to do next year because there there's some kids next year that I really want to do. So, can we three next year? We can have up to three. Yeah. I think we just need to work out who does what in the line, but that'd be fine. Yeah. And we could we could even have three this year if we wanted to. It's just another chair. I will be gone this year. Fair. Unfortunately, I'll do it this year. Got one. I'll do it. Two. Mike and Mike. Yeah. Thank you. What time we got to be there? Uh, what time do we need to be there, Jenny? I would say starts at 2:30. Correct. 1:45. 1:45. That I think that's what we did last just to make sure we can get you pinned with a flower and that we know what we're doing and how we're entering. And I still have a lot to learn, but we're going to have it together. my son. Do we have to do fingernail polish or anything like that? You can dress in whatever you want. Okay. Okay. We got graduation taken care of. Sounds like for this year and next year. Yeah. We'll take it. That's nice. Hope we can remember. Yeah. I'm getting this done. It's easy. Okay. in the official minutes and it's coming for next year. I'm sad. Oh yeah. Uh this discuss setting date for board retreat. Okay. So we are scheduled for a school board meeting on July 14th. Now um I talked to Tammy Draw to find out if IB would be available to do a board retreat for us on that date and she said they would. So what I was hoping to propose to the group here today was if July 14th already works for people if we could start earlier in the day, maybe not early in the day, maybe start at like 4:00 and go like 4 to 7. So we can have our 4 to 7:30 so we can have a retreat with them and if we have business to take care of in July, we can still do a short little bit of business if we had to. That's three and a half hours. Does that seem reasonable? Works for me. Y and Tammy had some really good ideas like remember so those were on when I first came. We set some goals as a board. So she and I talked a little bit about how we've moved towards those goals in that time. So a little time to reflect on that and then to set new goals for our district moving forward there and just kind of working on some of the new updates and laws around on board policies and things like that. So she had some pretty cool ideas. As you know, Tammy is pretty charismatic. It's all Yeah. Thank you. 4 to 7:30. Uh we are to approve personnel business procedures. [Music] Move to approve. Second. Moved and seconded to approve all the personnel business procedures. Any discussion? Have a look. Carol, I am okay. Hearing no discussion. All those in favor signify by saying I. Oppose saying sign. Motion carries. Board recognition mot. Um I have certificates for you. Um unfortunately I don't have them right at this moment. I'm sorry. So I'm going to make sure to give those to you at the end of the meeting. Okay. appreciate your service. Okay, we're moving on to financial reports. Any questions about the financial reports? looking for motion. The motion on discussion. Go ahead. Yeah. Motion to approve financial reports. We had a second. I think all those Any further discussion? Second. Derek, make a motion. I did. Oh, okay. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I oppose. Same sign. Approve. Superintendence report team. I will tell you this time of year as many of you already know uh is kind of crazy in schools. Everybody gets just a little bit stir crazy uh until we get out the door. I I believe the number that I kept hearing from people today was I think nine days left. So, uh, that seems to be a mantra some places as people get just a little bit crazier at the end. Um, had a chance to be in the junior high and high school today. I didn't make it to Lake View. Um, with, uh, graduation coming up this weekend, there's a lot going on for the high school folks. Um, we have some candidates for our open teaching positions. I'm really excited about that. I think we're going to be able to fill all of our spots. uh maybe even we really need two extra uh special special education teachers just to make uh roster sizes appropriate. And I think maybe tentatively we had a really good interview for one. So um kind of excited about that cuz those are hard to come by right now with special education teachers. So uh things are going well. Just got to keep plugging away. And uh what I heard uh cooperate to graduate was a term I heard today that was useful for a couple kids that we talked to. So it's a good thing. Any questions about superintendent report? Okay. Motion to accept the superintendent report. All right. Uh, all those in favor of accepting the superintendent's report, don't say I. We don't need to. Don't need to. You sure? Never had. Never had. Board member take away. I do feel accepted. I do. I will vote. There you go. That's what I was afraid of evaluation. I was afraid. I feel like we have a video. I thought I'd set the stage here. Thanks, Mike. Thanks, Mike. Appreciate it. So, uh, we are ready for board member takeaways. Who'd like to go first? There you go, Carol. So, I have the screen of the graduating seniors right in front of me and I taught so many of them and I'm so proud of them and I wish you some I loved it last year. Yeah. And Yeah. So, congrats. Who's next? I guess I don't ask. In reading over some of the reports, I was excited to see that science in the elementary school was there. That's really important. Sometimes gets overlooked and we need some science too. Who's next? Well, I'll just say from uh made up for this meeting, but I um I sub I've been subbed just a couple of days lately. I've been there a few days and it's it's eye opening to be in the building all day like that. And I I know that you work and you can't get there, but it is um it's been an eye openening experience that helps so much in here when principles give their reports because you see things in action, the terms that are used. Like I I really didn't know what an intervention was in in the high school or the junior high intervention. I I get that now and it's just it's been an eye openening experience. So, I appreciate the principles. Let me spend some time in the middle doing that. But, um, you know, I know I know it'd be hard for you to do, but if you could, it's an eye opening thing to spend a whole day there. So, it's been interesting. Makes it easier to understand the meeting. Follow the trail. Uh, spend most of the the morning down at Lake View Day. Um, hats off to to Mr. Moore, Mr. Conrad and and our high school track teams for successful fourth and fifth grade. But don't leave the hat off, which you won't. No, I have the hat on. And just for anybody playing at home, throw last year's sunscreen away and buy a new Casper White or Lost X. No, hats off to those guys and and those students for being out there for those kiddos. It was pretty exciting to watch. And it looks like the weather for the whole week is almost never get that. Yeah, sure. I'll go next. Leave Mr. More. Uh I'm excited to see the Lake View project coming around. That's been a real thorn in our sights all all year long to try and work around that. And uh appreciate your your work there and Aaron. I know that's taken a little bit. Uh, and I'm uh I never cease to be amazed on this hiring thing. I don't know how you can pull this off. Just don't. Okay. But it is a very difficult thing, but you seem to keep coming up. So, I appreciate that. Really short. So, Um looking forward to coming out to graduation. That's always fun. So congratulations to the senior class. I I did have one more thing and that was about the awards assembly. They gave away $49,000. That was great. And it was really, it's always a real kind of a spectacular event. It's kids from all walks walked away with money. It wasn't just sort of the Italy, as you might say. There were kids that made made made some money there. But that was I thought that was very encouraging. That was a cool thing. Yeah, that was a really cool thing. It is. Uh we are at this point ready for a closed session pursuant to Iowa code section 21.5 to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose hiring performance appointment or discharge is being considered a needless individual's reputation and that individual request session has been requested. Do we have any questions about this? Yes. I believe to go into both sessions. Second roll. Is this your thought? Yes. And I'll just Okay, we are back in regular session. We have a motion to be here. Second. Second. All those in favor to adjurnn signify by saying I. I. We are adjourned. [Music]
