## I. Maintenance / Transportation Update
The majority of summer maintenance projects are now complete. The remaining major
task is the installation of new carpeting in the high school classrooms, which is currently
underway. The grounds are in excellent condition, thanks to the hard work of our
maintenance crew.
•We expect delivery of one (1) new school bus and two (2) new vans later this
month.
•To accommodate the new vehicles, the district will be listing one of the older,
large white vans for sale on AuctionTime.
## II. Policy and Legislative Updates
A significant portion of this month's meeting will be reviewing, updating, and approving
board policies to align with changes passed by the state legislature this spring. Key
updates include:
•Artificial Intelligence (Policy Implementation): the district will establish an AI
policy detailing guidelines, boundaries, and expectations for both instructional
staff and students.
•Chronic Absenteeism: Policies regarding student attendance are being revised
to reflect new state criteria defining excused versus unexcused absences.
•Threat Assessment Team (Policy 3039): Policy 3039 is being updated to
include that a school board member serve on the DPS Threat Assessment
Team.
•Digital Transition (Sparq): To streamline public access and archiving, all board
policies, student/staff handbooks, meeting minutes, and agendas will transition to
the Sparq platform as of August 2026.
•Public Notices: Beginning in August, official notices for regular board meetings
will no longer be published in the local newspaper; instead, they will be posted
directly to the new district website.
