January 9th there's also an addendum for the September 12th meeting that we had at Lake look at those those minutes are just there for reference when we get down to the uh discussion on K Lake Beach project so I just don't want everybody confused yeah yep sorry sorry okay I'm confused I had one question on the minut minutes under uh page four five report and other business and um the first line um was regarding any questions Miller agreed it was a good idea that they remove the exception of the city council regarding Trails is it that a bad precedent that they started doing yeah anyway I I didn't understand what that meant can you clarify that oh you asking me well uh if if you I think VI yeah if you put the uh the wording up there okay gives the city council final basic U decision making power over different developers that are developing I feel if we have the ordinance set in place and we are supposed to get an allocated set amount of money and or build Trails or whatever it is the city council shouldn't be able to come in there and say I don't think they need to do it or anything like that um that's how I about I couldn't remember what that was yeah okay thank you than currently the city council can make the decision to void whatever the whatever policies are right I mean saying take the onus off then keep it black and white orid of the gray area this is what it is it's the same for everybody yeah but we're not playing favorites properly y all right okay is that it anybody else can I get a motion to I will make a motion to approve the minutes as written I'll second all right a motion has been made and seconded all in favor I I the next on the agenda is the park financial information item five our first page is the two Capital funds the park acquisition Development Fund and the uh Park operational Capital fund the balance in the acquisition and Development Fund is only at 36,960 that's kind of important to remember when we get down to item uh eight on our agenda and our balance on the other one is $243,500 uh neither one of those have had any allocations taken out of there yet um we did just receive the playground equipment for um the Lake Beach Park and the bill it'll show up on the next months so it'll be $50,000 out of the capital fund so that'll drop it down to 193 357 it was exactly $50,000 for the playground equipment we'll go over some of that when we get into our discussion on our planning on the second page not a lot to report there we're kind of uh we're way ahead of schedule on snow plowing obviously one one snow plow this winter so far so uh we're going to we we're going to save at least half of our budget on salt for next year because we have so much left over from this year and uh as far as overtime goes there hasn't really been any there hasn't been any use on the trucks and stuff like that motor fuel is our way down so we we should be in pretty good shape on a lot of that stuff so knock on wood going forward will be looking good for the rest of the year anyways is there any questions on there so far the Professional Services fees what is that typically is that just average iing for positions or or if we have to use um yeah if engineering sometimes goes into that I don't know what that one was I didn't code that one in there let me check on that one I'll see I'll send you an email tomor I'm just wondering if it's like a misprint or something seems kind of high for only three months and $600 budget yeah budgeting 600 and spending 5,000 sounds me like someone's trying to make us pay for something let me check on that one all right cool C any other questions anybody you don't need anything from us on this right nope all right now we're going to go on to the the sidewalk and Trail ordinance review which we started at our last meeting item 7.0 the sidewalk and Trail ordinance review attached to section 661 165 of the city code that guides the installation of sidewalks and trails and new developments the ordinance requires sidewalks and trails to be installed on New City roads based on the type of Zoning for the development and the type of street being built the city council decides on any exceptions from the ordinance staff is requesting a review of the ordinance and if needed any recommended recommended updates or revisions at the January 9th 2024 Park commission meeting staff were asked to research possibilities of having a trail dedication fee in lie of Trail construction and new developments staff has researched other cities in the metro area and will present some comparable options at the meeting so I you got a hand out there that I put it all your spots on the desk there and Denise and I were kind of talking about this before the meeting but there is not a lot of cities that charge for this that we able to find that I was able to find in the area are the city of Ramsey they charge $1,500 per unit for trail fees on top of their park dedication fee the city of Andover charges $1,066 and the City of oo charges $400 50 so it is an option that's out there it's not very common but it's something we could consider city of hoto or shago oh I see yeah sorry shago okay so are those are those the only ones around us the ones that I was able to find yeah it's it's difficult to find really hard you have to go on a city's website and read through their fee schedules and their ordinances and it takes some takes some time but um these are the ones in the area all the bigger cities like blae didn't does not have one k Rapids didn't have did not have one I was able to find but then they were charging astronomical amounts for their park dedication their park dedication I think was over $5,000 in Blain per per unit and I looked at a couple too and it would bring you back to a different ordinance and that didn't have anything in it that would pertained to dedication fee so it was hard so I'm glad you got these three because I I was telling we just got random information so we included that and this was kind of kind of bill was kind of wanted to know a lot about this too so but um this is our current current uh ordinance so typically they're required to build a trail on one side of the street for just about every development that goes in I noticed then some of the other ordinances though it kind of was spread out by um what the surface was if it was just going to be dirt or if it was going to be part what the difference was between a sidewalk and a trail cuz some of them combined it for other cities yeah oh I didn't notice that on a couple of them but for ours it's concrete sidewalk or aist Trail I guess is the two one or the other kind of thing I don't think we want to put in natural surface trails at all in a in a a in a neighborhood I guess I also noticed that in some of them they had um whether they were motorized vehicles which I assume is a bike lane on a major road maybe okay I didn't see that one all of our trails are considered nonmotorized right so do we need to specify that uh that's in our on our park rules I think we can I don't know if if that's in the code or not motorize meaning how about like a golf or something they're not allowed on the on the on the trails no so the trail versus the sidewalk is there size differences then uh the the sidewalks are typically 60 in wide 5T and the trails are 9 ft wide okay the sidewalks are concrete and the trails are pinous pinous is cheaper concrete gets pretty expensive but uh we typically have the concrete in the higher density neighborhoods uh we have one in Whispering Aspen hasm throughout the whole neighborhood and uh uh bking preserve does too and the new the two new proposed ones for elevage and bking Meadows have sidewalks in there as well along with some T minist trails and laking metals too and elage could you tell me the difference between the minor cleor and the local minor collector would be like baton oh okay and the local Street would be just like a residential street like uh a neighborhood street I know we had talked about a flat fee so is that what we want to continue looking at is a flat fee as opposed to a percentage of what market value that's kind when you get into the percentages it gets kind of tough that's the problem we have with our Park dedication fees for us per it's a lot easier if we know what the amount is going to be per unit if we're going to go down this road out front they'll know exactly what it's going to cost for how many how many units they have it gets gets rid of a lot of the gray area too when you have to start doing uh appraisals and stuff like that so if we do go of fees it would come it would be the same uh process as our Park dedication would come to the park commission you guys would review it and make a recommendation on a installation of a trail or a fee in Li of the the installation of a trail do those typically come as a request from the developer the developer just submits their plans to the city okay um typically Aaron and the city administrator will have discussions with them ahead of time let them kind of know what's what's coming and what what could possibly go in there sure we we have our Master Trail plan if it's along there they're probably going to realize that they're going to have to put a trail in with it if it's just a street that goes nowhere Trail doesn't make sense they might have to kick in some money for trail dedication kind of on a side note too when we were doing our Park dedication review uh was it a year ago we were doing that a year and a half ago seems like we do it all the time there was a there was kind of a caveat we were leaving off the commercial um part because it was at the Supreme Court and they actually weigh in on it now and there's been a final ruling that you are able to charge Park dedication for commercial properties so that's been officially finalized through the court system so our Al what we have is legal and binding still for the commercial side of things that's good all right so what do we want to do here folks table it while we do some more research [Music] or yeah how do we come up with flat feed yeah that's the thing yeah if you wanted if you wanted to go feed with then we'd have to decide on what the fee would be um going at looking at those three examples there's a lot of lot of room in there yeah is there is there any logic to it like lots size Road Frontage or anything these are all per unit so it's the same if it's a town home an apartment it paid on an apartment unit or a million doll 10 acre house you know it's all the same per unit okay do we take into account what materials would cost then or we know it's going to bu be buy toin us right we're not going to do concrete probably the only time concrete would be used if it's in like a higher density should be the the uh R1 single family ones actually no it be it' be the uh it's not one it's a the high density ones like elage and yeah so that's R2 it no it's uh there's a different one for it SLI my mind so what happens veler comes in okay submits his plans he knows he either has to have sidewalks or a trail if because of some strange event or you know they just can't do it is that when we would put in this AR medication fee something that would be added on to our current numbers that we have right now per un so if we did this would be a trail dedication this would be on top of the park dedication fee which is $2,000 per lot and it would have to be decided upon by the park commission and then referred to the city council for the final decision Y and in most cases I think it's going to be cheaper to do the park dedic or the trail dedication than to actually build the trail but some developers can do it you know um some of the ones we've had lately they can they can slap those in pretty easy if it's going in right with the development the pave trails are pretty cheap compared to the sidewalks and they're usually off the road more which makes it a little bit more um nicer for people to ride their bikes and walk when they're not right alongside the traffic how does that $2,000 compar uh we raised it from a uh I think it was around 1500 wasn't it yeah we raised it from uh brought us up to it was based on a percentage a percentage we're still lower yeah you know so like the city of Andover is about 4,000 the city of BL is about 5,000 per unit um I think we're kind of comparable with like I I actually have a break down somewhere I can show you too I know we worked hard on that number because yeah we didn't we were so low compared to everybody else we were a lot don't this it's it's hard to determine this because we don't have we would be breaking ground well we're small we're smaller than Chago yeah but they're I don't know they're built differently though too yeah they have more of a downtown which we don't have a lot of uh town houses and things around their high school we don't have a high school here right does anybody have a feel for what they want to throw out we could kind of go based on what other are doing but none of these really are comparable to us that's why I'm wondering saying and over and Blain in those places where they're charging more they're tossing their Trail fee in so you just you don't know what the money's spent on where if we say Trails that's the money for Trails right yeah where you're saying the others are probably built right into their park dedication right yeah right so is there another zoning class or whatever that needs to be added to this then you were talking about the higher density real quick this is the breakdown of a park Dedication that we did back in 20 this was 20 early 2023 so we had we were at 10% land value I think our final was was $1500 for multifam per unit and 2,000 for single family and then commercial we left at 5% of the land value um and these numbers are where have been updated since then too because Blaine is over 5,000 and over I think Anover is about the same still can you blow that up a little I was trying to get we're gonna have to move you closer Susan this side there you we go good job thanks we needed a tech guy that might be the extent of it so we're cheaper than Ham Lake and okoba which are pretty comparable to us as far as what kind of City we have without a you know a big downtown area more residential acreage Lots um and they didn't have anything on Trails no when you did the research no not that they didn't charge but you just could find it they I'm pretty sure they don't have a trail dedication fee okay okay I think they kind of use their park dedication to cover that I think that's kind of Blain's all the way bla tackled it too well do we have anything waiting on this no no so if we want yeah if we wanted to table it that's an option too I guess not table what's the proper term we're supposed to use I would say table we revisit it next month revisit yeah we were told that tabling means you have to address it at the end of the meeting oh you move it down to the end and there's another term they used you get our Robert's Rules of Order book up I looked those up to tonight I didn't just for official we all kind of know what we mean yeah well I just think we need to do some more research because like you when I was trying to read those ordinances it was just I couldn't find the fees they had said they had fee schedules I couldn't find those for construction and it was difficult for example I mean we're doing a trail connection on baton that's uh it's basically it would be three lots we Crossing it's one block long and that's going to cost us about $25,000 so if you have a development with 10 houses in there and you're charging I don't just say a th000 off top my head you're you're not even doing half of a one block Trail so I mean it's definitely cheaper to do the the the trail dedication fee and that's kind of the same with Parks too I mean they give up 10% of a development for land is probably worth a lot more than what the park dedication piece come out to be right but I think that's one of the things that when you talk to people about how much Park equipment costs and they find out that a park is could be $100,000 they're just shocked yeah because you know don't you just use the wooden structure in your backyard like no not quite not quite don't go to monards all right so should we just revisit this next month when we can gather up some more information do we need a motion for that or just um yeah we just have a motion to uh move it to the next meeting I'll make that motion I'll second it all right a motion's been made and seconded to revisit this um sidewalk and Trail ordinance next month at our Parks Commission meeting next on the agenda is our favorite Park Capital Improvement planning for 2024 through 2028 do we should we vote on the motion oh we got to vote on the motion I'm sorry all in favor say I I I thank you that's okay I like dealing with the [Laughter] money item 8.0 the 2025 to 2029 Park Capital Improvement planning the Parks Commission prepares a capital Improvement plan annually which updates project projected projects evaluates priorities and establishes funding for these works for the coming year and for each of the following subsequent years for a 5-year period the plan is presented to the city council for their approval and use for preparing the coming Year's budget attached is the 2024 to 2028 Park CIP we will discuss those projects that are listed for 2024 and 2025 and determine if future projects need to stay in their current funding year or be rearranged to reflect any changes in our Park priorities other projects can be added and existing ones can be deleted if there's a need for restructuring the schedule recommendations from this from this discussion will be used to develop a draft 2025 2029 Park CIP that the park commission can review and edit at a following meeting a couple of items to consider for discussion include the remaining balance for Lake Beach Park improvements which which is approximately $50,000 and these were some of the items that are listed in that uh those uh old minutes I dropped there skateboard park or other improvements to the mayard Peterson Park area another item is we had $80,000 budgeted for skateboard park and booster West that was planned for 2023 that we need uh Direction on I've had quite a few requests for pickle ball courts and then any other Park development that the park commission wants to recommend or has heard from any residents well I do know cities all over are adding pickle ball dedicated courts now but we painted our lines on our tennis courts we have pickle ball courts on our lines at Lake Beach two in Booster Park and two at Whispering Aspen and then can you verify for me you can get four pick a ball courts on a tennis court is that true no okay cuz that was in some information I read and I'm like you could get two but you'd have to redo the net if you're using the existing tennis net you can only get one on there all right it just basically shrinks it down on the one net and doing talking to some other cities and what it cost to put them in we're looking at probably about between 25 and $30,000 for each pickle ball court for putting in a dedicated a dedicated one with concrete um the the post the acrylic surface and the fencing around it we could probably do it cheaper if we did it with black top and our guys did a lot of the work we could I think we can do it for cheaper but it just depends if we have time to do some of that stuff after other duties do matter concrete would you they prefer concrete sounds like and I'm not a pickle ball expert but would you put the same surface covering on asphalt as you would on the concrete yeah it's a it's an acrylic kind of service that they put on there yeah but you use that on asphalt as well yeah so that's what that's what booster Park and Whispering Aspen have they're actually Asal Bas so let's let's start with uh the first one is the park acquis acquisition and Development Fund we projected a beginning balance of 66,800 starting off 2024 and we are actually if we go back up to our other sheet we are at 30 36,000 is where that balance actually this one's always a guess just just depends on development so that one's about $30,000 lower than what we had on this plan some of that will be when uh they get the final numbers from elevage they haven't paid their park dedication fee yet that one's going to be significant and then there is some Park dedication coming in for the Viking preserve or Viking metals that a lot of that's going to have to go to developing that Park but there might be some money left over for other projects there that's still up in the air well if I recall correctly they said that they wanted to P mail their dedication fee as they built correct so we won't know until we'll know what the amount is going to be we just don't know when we're going to receive it I think we I think we already actually know what that amount is on that one well I would like to say we should keep the shade structures as is because we know that that's our most popular baseball park and it is a wind tunnel yep and a couple the as trees that were out there that gave a little bit of shade died from an emerald dashboard oh nice so we treaded the other we treaded all of them but the two on the Hill are I don't think they're going to make it so these shade structures would go up on the either side of the kind of the burm area so you'd be able to watch between two of them you be able to watch all four Fields that's for this year was planned for this year um we don't have enough money to do that right now if something comes in throughout the year uh we can address that maybe do it in the fall if not what we do typically with this fund is we just bump it down a year if we don't have the money in place I think after we do get the elevage money though we'll have enough to do it so for 2025 and Beyond we really didn't have much in there a lot of that we were kind of planning on what was going to take place at that area down by Viking Golf Course Viking Meadows so then the under under the sources that those are you know just total estimates based on what kind of development will take place if no development takes place that'll be zero Tim do you remember at all what elevage park dedication number finally was I don't either it was it's been yeah they were negotiating back and forth a lot on that one but I'll have that but when I do the draft one for the next me I'll have a I'll have a a lot better number to start with on that one because I think they'll have that ready to go by then and the big item we have on there down in 2028 is just kind of a placeholder was the booster West ball field lights which I had a question um I know noticed on some of the cities that I was looking at for some Parks information they charge to use those lights is that what we plan on doing I mean it would make sense yeah you you can request the field with or without the lights on right correct I that noticed that too on a lot of them $40 or something per game or there's 40 50 bucks to cover the electricity cost probably and are we still looking at doing um advertising on the backboards there was somebody from um one of the youth organizations that was going to try and look into it right now we're trying to work on the ice arena advertising we've got somebody from the youth hockey that's going to really help us out with that I think I haven't heard anybody else on the baseball field yet I know I anny there rink is just covered with advertising so that that would be good yeah does that go back to the par um well it depends on how they set the contract up so the ice arena it depends on who's running it um it hasn't been decided yet what a lot of them do is like so if it's somebody from the from the youth hockey organization doing it they'll keep a percentage for their youth hockey team and part of will go back to the to the city which goes back to the ice the ice rink okay it's kind of the same because it all goes back to the rink it's all an Enterprise fund okay doesn't actually come to the parks or general fund or anything that it stays in the ice ring itself so either they keep it for their kids and they raise Ice costs or they just put money into the building and keep cost down it's kind of a sure that makes sense they also are getting back into um charitable gambling which will help a lot with that building who's doing the tradable gambling there the hockey oh youth hockey it makes sound yeah they're being trained in by Rapids Youth Hockey right now at the uh new uh restaurant um what was it before M it was uh MC's garage I think it's called yeah it was Moonshine Whiskey yeah oh is that one open yep not yet it's not open yet next month supposedly April y yeah the youth hockey hadn't been in tredille gambling for quite some time so they're kind they had some issues yeah they're their toes back in the water and they kunon Rabbids hockey helping them out to get them get everything lined up St so well good should help all right so what do you want us to look at first here and well if you if you just want to leave the shade structures in there and uh if there's anything else you want to add and I'll do that it would be nice if we had the money to kind of help us here yeah it's hard to know what we're spending we have to spend I'll bring I'll have that uh elevage number in here and then I think we'll probably have a pretty good idea on the bking medals by next month as well if not then the month after when does this have to be completed um by usually by the end of May okay before we do the budget talks we like to have these Capital Improvement things done that's understandable so we got a couple months but just looking for ideas and whatever you guys tell me I'll try and put it into a draft that'll that'll be updated with everything in there so I'll bring that up later in my new business when I talk to those people so if we want to go to the park Capital fund that's the next sheet this one's a little bit more fixed because this is uh trans transferred from the general fund so we have a pretty good idea what this amount is going to be on here we show $33,900 as a starting balance on our actual fund we have 243,000 but that does not include um um $20,000 for the Baton Street Trail that we constructed we still have to pave so that'll take place here this spring it does not include the $80,000 that we had budgeted for booster West skateboard park and I'm kind of looking from direction from the park commission if that's something they still want to pursue over there is that just kind of hanging out there it's still kind of just hanging there thought we were going to move that up any what way we talked about it it's been talked about but we never actually like set and St with that's what we were going to do with it yep what can we get for $80,000 it's basically the exact same stuff that's out there just just new it gets used a lot so I mean but we probably don't have to change in I mean change the design at all because people are using it yeah I know there's kids that are giving lessons there so one of the issues we kind of run into is there's only really only one company that does it anymore the other companies have dropped out of it oh so it's hard to get comparable quotes on stuff but the other two or three companies that we've used in the past are no longer manufacturing that stuff they all they've all gone to uh port in place concrete ones which are a is that what they have in end over over by the high schooler uh part of that is part of that is freestanding um there's one over in Wyoming that's poured concrete so it's all just formed concrete that doesn't require much maintenance but it's expensive up front the one in Wyoming I think was $200,000 and that was eight nine years ago that we looked at that one wow and they got half that paid for by plis over there that's what I was told but oh I suppose anybody got a sugar daddy corporate sponsors and we're retired got nothing well that's unfortunate so what would we do with the old equipment then is any of it reusable no okay it's it's getting to the point of no matter what we have to get it out of there it's breaking down better do it then so either we take it out of there and don't replace with anything or if we want to pursue replacing it then we need that $80,000 that was a ear Mark for it unless there's something else that the park commission would rather have that money go towards is there anything else that we could put in there besides the skateboard park any ideas oh not without asking people how about the pickle ball that's what I was wondering what did they say what do we say that was 25 to 30,000 I could do that could do a couple of them really popular mhm would that work there mhm is there enough space we'd have to probably repave it just put a new layer on there to make it nice and smooth but you said that a lot of kids are using that yeah so then what happens and we do have pickle ball on the east side I mean it's on the tennis court but it's it's available it's not a dedicated pickle ball court let me see the measurement on that quick are the pickle ball courts getting used does anybody know the tennis courts yeah are they getting used as pickle ball well I don't know that I don't I can hear from my house but I haven't walked over you got to just because the basketball court is right next to it so they're using it both but I don't know what the percentage of use is I just wonder if there'd be big backlash if you took out well you're going to have to take out the um skateboard park skateboard park but if I don't know if you don't get Buy in on changing it what and we are at a lack for older kids what they can do in the city yeah and the older kids probably are not going to be into pickle ball yet no no be older yeah that's for the shuffle board 40 and old the shuffle board generation 50 and older what would we be left with if we did that again 880,000 there's 880,000 that was earmarked I don't know why this is so big on here because you enlarged your last screen and we have 133 right yeah this is the this is the skateboard park so it's a little half pipe little ramp quarter pipe um this is just a straight drop ramp and then a little table top thing here this is a concrete in place piece with a rail on it so it's 100 ft long by 60 ft wide and the pickle ball cord is 30X 60 so you could get three of them on there I guess three going this way one two three it have to be probably put a fencer on it too so that's an option or skateboard park you can see on the do we ever do we have batting cages still just at the ice right uh yeah there's really there's really not even one there anymore this is before we resurfaced but this is the um tennis court you can see the tennis lines in these smaller lines are the pickle ball lines so is that sizewise is that about the same size as that skateboard park or just the pictures are different uh well this is bigger the the the uh know why this is so big got to do it down here for some reason does kind of seem like shame they don't have something kids right especially since that Park is used all your own one pickle ball there maybe we should just go with that I I kind of feel the same way cuz I really feel if we change that up and that sounds like there's I have no idea but it sounds like from what you're saying there are a lot of kids that use it and if we take that away from them without any forewarning I I just feel like we're going to get pushed back that means we'll just have kids using the picnic tables as a jump and suddenly we will be the parkour Park I I I'm kind of with you so I think we should keep it as is and it's just my thought yeah I'm with you yeah it's all about whether they're using it or not yeah and if if they are why take it away you know and we only have two skateboard parks now right the one at Lake that one's trash yeah but we were looking at changing some of that yeah so the court itself is 45 feet long so they're when you build them they're 60 ft long so you got some room on around it and stuff so we need a motion uh we don't need a motion on this I just if you guys want to give you know just verbally kind of recommend to keep going forward it was already been passed and approved but there was some discussion about maybe not do it I just want to get kind of some reass reassurance from you guys that's we want to pursue and will the $80,000 cover it still or need more the quot was from last like November so I think it's still good okay I'll I'll get up with the manufacturer tomorrow I'm going to check to keep see if I can look for another comparable quote but we haven't had any luck and then we'll bring this to the city council I might even be able to get it to them by on the 25th a week from two weeks from last night and then we're looking at Lake Beach Parks this 50,000 for the skateboard park there can we get a bargain if we do two for one that wasn't under quote so the price they gave us for Lake Beach was for um to do a um just a half pipe down there cuz there wasn't a lot of room on that that's a little area M it's only uh it's this piece here what we have there now is just a basically a start ramp a little tabletop piece and another little ramp not a lot there that was kind of a hand me down from another Park actually and then there's a little slide grind rail one of the one of the people at the meeting at uh we had down at the community center had recommended just doing a halfpipe in there and the half pipe would be about $40,000 is what they quoted us on so that's one option for that area don't the other option is to you know use the money for something else here or we could use the money at the other Park still too this is the playground what do shade structures cost depends on the size um we looked at I think we're looking at two of them for 50,000 like $25,000 each that's one concern from a lot of folks is there really isn't a lot of place to sit and if you are sitting there watching your kids you're right out in the blazing sun sure so I think that would be something to maybe consider for that park right in that playground area there y would they would there be room for it well might it probably would have to be in the lawn area which I don't know if you'd want to do that well there might be different sizes though to if we can get a smaller one yeah there's all there's every size there's ones that are just like a post with a like a big umbrella almost the ones we're talking about for the park are almost like a canvas Pavilion almost they're they're pretty good size I'll see if I can pull up a picture of one here are there benches at that Park I can't remember yeah yes okay it actually has a can top they're like uh they're they're they're a fabric I don't think that would work would it and then we take them down in the winter time so let's see not not unintentionally maybe so this is this is kind of you wouldn't put it over the playground itself but this would be freestanding just on the burm at booster West um you can sit put picnic tables underneath there or whatever got a price on this one that one's only $6,000 buy four of them what size is that I just did a quick this 24 we were looking at bigger than that but but they also have ones like um oh fancy ones you know like something like this this would this would make more kind of you know have a bench over there with a big umbrella over the top there's there's a ton of different ones it's almost like a it's like a backyard patio on but so we are we talking about doing this in place of something else we've got 50,000 to spend down there okay and how much would if we were to just update the the skateboard or the the half pipe was 40,000 okay 40,000 so we have 10,000 left still leave a little bit left okay got it and on that sheet there's you know there's all kinds of stuff that people wanted to see down there I was looking at that um cuz remember we were talking they wanted number one was the zip line but we didn't know how that would work because there's nowhere to zip line into or from unless you just one my yeah you know if we just had a small little one to put with the park stuff you know I don't know how much are those and just a little a little kid zipline kind of I saw one out at the Lion's Park in where was it in Hugo yeah that one's really big but the only one I'm really familiar with is down on Lexington and Blaine they have one at by that water by the water tower there that new park they built oh okay and that one's probably 150 ft long okay it's a pretty long ride but it's always it's like the number one thing kids around I know they really really enjoy it you need some you need some area for it well I know in the past we've always put those spinners the spinning where you hang on to it and then you can spin it around those were always pretty popular I don't that's right here we actually had there oh there is by the skateboard park yep we we took that out of the other Park and brought it over here and put in some uh spring toys at the other Park that the community center actually purchased oh I remember that yeah well with that ball field there and and they're using it more and more could we I don't know put something in for them for the little kids to you know if they're there with their their daughter or something and then they've got little ones is there something little that we could something better than than than playing in the portable toilet yeah I don't know well we're talking we're GNA have two spring toys or one at at the community center Park uh those the ones that are there stay all three uh one of them's coming out there'll be two total yeah one has to come out so one of those will go over there can we move that over to the other I thought it was brok we could you'd have to expand the safety zone The Mulch and stuff they have to have a safety Landing fall zone and is that like the area around the spinning thing there you're talking about oh okay which wouldn't be that hard I don't know if you'd want that right next to the spinning thing though yeah probably not a real good idea somebody would be spinning and knock a little kid off or something if they can or jumping off a did we have a for zip line if we put it further over down I don't have one off the top of my head we did look at one at one point I know we looked at some to add on to the big big equip equipments yeah I didn't think it was that astronomical okay so here's let me bring this up so this is the one in Blaine so the zip line goes actually isn't that long from here to here so it's just straight they just shove off and go yeah so this this one's more elevated and you and you ZIP down to here see how far that is keeps good slide this over on and we can use it for a little mini sliding Hill in the winter time no the the B the base is all level it's just this yeah the bar the bar is higher yeah you're going to keep trying for that sliding Hill huh bunny y that's 75 ft I just think that would be fun yeah if we could somehow worth that is there 75 ft of room there at mayor Peterson yeah where we were looking next to the park um um probably not with the skateboard park it's really narrow in there I got it I thought it kind of kind of tapered back there back behind this one cuz remember when we were looking to put a trail there to go to the fire [Music] bar so the green is the actual Park the city owns these platted roads too yeah they were talking about doing a trail along here at one point but this is all pretty wet so when I pull up the aerial photo so this is all a big swamp through here I thought was maybe we could run it along along the swamp but it would be out of the that foul ball area just a thought just not conducive there's 115 ft so that longs the pad itself yeah so it's about the length of the pad so that would be an option in there I guess you have to probably take the pad out and do wood chips in there so you you're saying you have to take the skateboard take out the skateb probably yeah cuz we have we can't be within certain feet of the property line or kind of getting close here already this is a big hill that kind of slopes down this way there's your sliding Hill this is an old [Music] junkyard so it is pretty tight what were the other requests I wasn't I wasn't meeting a BMX you were you were indisposed you I was um dirt bike trail with BMX a bounceback wall built for singer single players to use that wouldn't be very expensive I don't know if the adjacent property Splash Pad but there's no water that we can use bang piece of ply Water by next to your house yeah I don't think so yeah because there's a house right there it have to we could just hook up to their house corrup Splash bad could hook in their water and use for a splash pad let's see what else do we have and one of the residents down there too I think offered a couple offered some money at the time to help pay for a skateboard park I I don't know how set and stone that was but yes Bonnie John B B's husband with John y yep I thought he said five grand that's what I recall too I didn't put that in here I thought I did I don't know if it was part of the official me I think he came up and he talked to you when the meeting was not in before the meeting started okay CU they had to leave right away yeah that's right I remember that now they want flooding for ice skating too well that was the original Park that that was the design back when I drew it up the where the tenis court was would be to flood that we were going to flood it we had plugs and then the one time that fire department I think came over and flooded it the plugs were in so the went down the stre down the road they also wanted to know if there were solar powered lights that could be put in this Park area so kids could be there at night or early evening when foot softball was going on ad mayor Peterson mm that's what it says need lights so they probably wouldn't be playing softball would they well but your siblings would be hanging out right it just it just says bleachers you know as long as we're on mayor Pearson softball so the team that signed the contract with us smoke Minnesota smoke they disbanded really right along with the uh who are the other girls the snow cat snow cats seems to be a lot of politics that kind of go back and forth but they're all in another team there's another team that wants to take over the contract that's in that area so we're working on that right now oh okay they're called the Minnesota speed speed yeah and I think they're a more um established team it sounds like I'm not a big boys guys or girlss fast pitch it seems so popular but then if they keep disbanding what does that mean and if they don't there's another team that wants to do it after them too so there's a lot of interest in this park now so good I was surprised when the snow snow cats disbanded because they've been around forever oh that's really sad well nobody wants to right about to be a lot lot of sports out nobody money well they cleaned it up for us so I guess they paid the first year which was the big amount and they had two more uh years and I think this this other team is going to take over those two donation amounts oh okay good but we we still we're still working on that so so far we've decided shade structures which is also on their list and where are we going to put those at the big park by the community center or at the park mayard Peterson Park so the the shade structures on that first form are at booster West baseball field yeah those are the ones that are on there for 50,000 talking about no no I'm talking about here uh letter i for down there at at the beach it doesn't really say yeah it says asked if we could add another park bench to the kids Park area that would be by the also requested some type of shade structure which is what Al that would be that would be by the community center then okay what do we do guys right now there's a bench uh right here it's hard to do it when you're constricted by neighborhood right yeah this is all we have for so where you going to put that shade structure that well if was just a just for the people on the bench we just put it right behind there probably just one Standalone one for that bench maybe that's an option yep fa still I can get a price on that I don't know how much those small ones are but it' be pretty affordable yeah I mean we're not going to spend much of that 50 Grand on something like that no the big I think the big it we have to decide on is the maor Peterson what to do with that park right and it needs to come down right that one's we've got to get that another one that's falling apart yeah especially since it was moved there from over by Hidden Haven that kind of a tough one because you drive by there and I've never seen anybody using skateboards on there once in a while you see bikes and and I'm I'm guessing there's a couple little guys on their little four-wheelers that are maybe running in there but I haven't seen it but we're not always by it but we're not you know if it's not a very usable skateboard park if it was usable would more people be using it you know if you mean if it was improved yeah yeah that's that's the big that's the rub right it's very dangerous if we put a new one in will that generate more interest we've got a lot of teenagers out there maybe we need to go that direction and just really hype it up at the community center you know you've got a lot of younger families out there that if we' put some hype on it and say hey we're going to have this it's for you guys get out there and use it you know maybe they'll come out will a new will a new halfpipe be enough though just one additional one thing I don't know anything about skateboard I don't either John John justest just if we could just get that something that's what he had mentioned he's into it and his kids are but know I I don't know if there's any correlation or not but you don't see a lot of kids running around the roads on skateboards either that's true do we really invest in that I don't know back to the zipline yeah I was just thinking is there a way to do the zipline with the half bite yeah I mean I think a zipline would be much more popular and used based on what we've seen in other pars zipline in the lights I don't know that we really I'm not sure about lights need the lights said they wanted that was just one or two people that was for if you did like a skating rink I think or something oh I don't know if it was that it was just one person just mentioned it um where was it oh that was if we were going to put in the skateboard park and prove it oh okay I missed that I guess she thought solar powered lights in this area would be great too so that was one person's suggestion yeah let's go back to the so are we thinking we'd want to take out have it removed D and then use that area for the zip lining and maybe something else well since we don't know what it's going to be maybe we just not do anything yet put the zip line in put the zip line in and see what happens can we get a big one that would facilitate bigger kids for a zipline yeah um I think they're all kind of the same size that from the manufacturers I've seen they just you can change the length on them how far you you go but I mean Weight Wise oh yeah I I went on it okay they're they're made well they are fun I even went on it I thought it was great I went with my kid my grandkids but maybe we start with that like you said if we set it off to the side and leave some space so if we want to add on yep yeah you said we need to to put in wood chips then yeah we have to take the the asphalt out regrade it um probably excavate some dirt to lower it we usually put a border around it just to keep the wood chips for maintenance and stuff and then have to but we have wood chips don't we uh no we buy them from rard they're they're not they're not super expensive Couple Grand maybe so that is there room enough to put it off to the side of where that rotating thing is sorry uh not really you mean leave the pad there take the take the rotating thing out you could do that maybe yeah cuz that's probably not getting used at all either is it I don't know how old is that this is the aerial photo here so oh when did we move this over here Bonnie about four years ago maybe five years before Co oh yeah that's kind of how I judge things nowadays was it before Co or after probably 2018 19 somewhere in there I was going to say it hasn't been that long because that was like one of the first ones we put in that was used though this gets used no that the spinner thing yeah it was well it was new it was new at the other Park we we put that in in like 2012 or something I think I want to say cuz I was here when we put that in originally and then we moved it over to this part well we could just leave it couldn't we it looks like if we did the the zip line we'd be on where where the current skateboard park is towards the tree line right and then I don't know what else could we fit in there just put the zip line going the other way and then just move thatly thing somewhere else it's still fitting there well I think we're talking now about putting the zip line where the current skateboard pieces right am I right Nate you could yeah well or and then or or leave the skateboard park pad there mhm put a picnic table on it and put the zip line where that R thing is well can we move the twirly thing to the opposite end there where the small skateboard pieces I don't know what it is what you called it it's on the left little thing yeah if we put the twirly thing in the grass to off the we could put it way the zipline could go way across the going this way going north and yeah right right down the middle where that take that out of there take that thing out of there I think they're talking about just leaving the skateboard part there I don't know if you want to totally dedicate that whole take out space for I don't even want to dedicate that whole Space to just one zip line I agree that's kind of what I'm right thinking is maybe if we can still do that off to the side and leave that pad area for something in the future we do something still with a skateboard park well we we would we still have what did say 10 grand left if you did the half pipe there'd be $10,000 roughly I was trying to find the actual picture of here I got somewhere so could the skateboard the skate park what am I trying to say the halfpipe can that be moved over maybe further closer to the ball field on that Pad but just move it over and then have the other um have some kind of little zip line next to it shoe horn kind of in between so zip line where this is at where that blue line is and then put the ramp over up here more yeah just kind of move it so there's more room on that that might be an option and then you could do both I mean I think we'd have a really that would be a win-win that would be absolutely a win-win because then they would even notice that they lost two pieces of skateboard equipment because they'd have the zip Lin right and they'd have the half pipe yeah right zip Lin's probably going to be more than 10 grand I would guess I I was going to trying and and if like I said even if we don't do it this year if we have it planned for there we can address it with some of we got a lot of other years to go through um yeah I think we need for sure for this year we need to address because that skateboard Park's got to come out so I think it if you want to do a skateboard par maybe you want to do that first or if the whole thing's going to come on let's take the whole thing out but the skateboard park equipment that's in there is no longer really safe I want to get that out of there for sure so if we did a ramp a half pipe we could put it um more to the north side here yeah and then depending on if we have enough money left over or we can address a zip line in maybe two years or something cut out take this half of the pad out do all this all in wood chips is one big piece here yeah and this would be more for like growing up kids to right zip line and play would be awesome we get both of them somehow yeah that would be really cool I think we we got a quote Bonnie do you remember what it was when we got that that one time on that I can't I can't remember I'm thinking 13 16 I don't remember I was kind of surprised that it was as cheap as quot for what for zipline yeah so we looked at one at one point for the other Park the community center was looking at buying um yeah that was quite a while ago Bonnie do you think that oh I'm sorry go ahead do you think that the we could get any funds from the community center to help support support this possibly but we just Ram the I just Ram the senior yeah I know what your Parks had but they're making more money now they've got Bingo every two two times a month and they're always looking for things they want to spend their money on so I was just thinking maybe we can well they're spending it on the seniors okay I mean some of it some just something to think about how much how much um what's what's a revenue approximately at the center boy I don't even remember I kind of shut that out of my brain um 20 30 is this the half pipe this is the half pipe that they proposed for their and and they included installation on it um there there people would install we might be able to save some money and do it ourselves I don't know that one might be a little trickier on the other ones we might be a to do ourself too so it's 20 feet by 35 feet that's the one they put in there yeah and so where's the 35 is it this way this way the length Okay the length so 25 ft how wide is that pad uh it was 11 15 ft long okay so it fit in there okay you'd have to have some area around it for safety and stuff right right I just was curious I can see how wide it is so if that one resident is still willing to yeah bring money towards the skateboard park that would be like half of the can you do that I mean can you accept that from them yeah they they can donate it to for a specific purpose so that would that would uh reduce the cost of that to I think they talked about $5,000 even if it was 2,000 that' give more we we have the 10 th000 to 15,000 remaining would that be enough to do both of them and not a shade structure at the community center oh yeah be close and then talk to the community center about donating funds to put in shade that would be a whole lot less that'd be a good one for there yeah yeah because that's going to be a pretty low budget item and it's right there yes and they'd get a lot of positive feedback out of that yes that's a really good idea don't look I could I mean I'll present it I could present it at our um well it doesn't have to be right away no but we'd got our annual meeting coming up that would when you do is put a bu in right yeah sorry yeah and I wouldn't even talk about you know I mean you can certainly tell them what we want to do but just see if they would want to do that bet they would that's 82 feet long I guess [Music] so so would you place that so that there could be additional skateboard stuff put in I don't know if there'd be enough room if we do a zip line with skateboard part you might have to do the half pipe might make more sense to do it it sounded like that would be satisfyed North and South yeah then do the zip line like right here okay that's an option too I'll have to go down there and actually look at the site a b better and get AED right what's going to fit with the wheel and stuff measured out yeah let me see if I got that real quick so okay so for right now I'm hearing we're going to try and get get the skateboard park at booster West done we have that already earmarked get that to council for down here I'm going to get an updated price on the halfpipe and then and then a zip line cost and you're going to look at whether or not you guys can install it yep that would be awesome we don't have to decide tonight I'll just get this on the draft for next month and I'll get some hopefully some better numbers I think the zipline would be a huge hit in oh it would it would well and it would drive some business down that way because it would be the only one in the city yeah that'd be awesome Smokies would like it they'd go there for dinner oops I put in a plug sorry we could put a we could put a sign out there onxon zipline zipline this way do for the pool they over in Bunker yeah but they charge for that so they're making money yeah that's exciting hope I can remember this all right so 2024 is covered now we only have four or five more years to go yeah all right for sure we need to get the Baton Trail segment done because people bring that up all the time about the trail to Nowhere going on too long yeah I agree I agree here's a zipline 100 foot 11,000 like 12,000 this is from 2017 oh better get another quote yeah I'll get it updated but that's kind of what we were thinking was like 10 is that what we're thinking 100 foot would 75t 100 foot they're the same price it's 500 bucks more to go I'll have to see what'll fit down there okay that's just from one compy yeah there's two on the like really concerned now maybe it'll be too expensive yeah that six years ago and if and if it doesn't happen in 2024 it's something we can always try and add because we got we got plenty of other stuff on here that right can be moved around in bit so okay moving on you guys were on baton Street Trail segment yep getting that finished so we can just get it checked off and done there's not going to be a lot our staff can do on that one that's going to have to probably be bid in contract because there's a lot of uh excavation that needs to take place in there so I'll get uh we'll plan on that for 2025 I'll leave that in there um then going beyond that it's all just new park developments so we we're waiting for the numbers and working with those developments to get that done right yep is there any other um things that the park Commissioners have heard that they'd like to people to see other more Trails more Trails new business yeah um I worked at precinct one for the elections last week so I talked to people while I was there some of the things they talked about would be covered under the NOA County renovation of the beach area one of the things that was brought up was um like a fishing structure that you could take your grandkids to not necessarily a dock but something that you could stand on I they have them at like kids camps where it's like a pier yeah like a pier and then it wouldn't be every Lake obviously because not all of them have fish but it's something that you could do with your grandkids was one of the things that got brought up on Lake any of the Lakes they were just this was a couple that they knew the area so they were like how about John Anderson yeah that I looked at that back a long time ago on and there was a grant I don't know the DNR put one on hamlake when I was back there um they paid they did all the was through them I can we can check on that but that was one of the things that they you know it was all older people because it was just the primary but um that was one of the things they like we can't do anything with our grandkids like on a nice day we'd like to just you know out F somewhere and then um I talked to a couple from Fish Lake about the cross country trail and I know I talked a little bit about that day with you but um they want to figure out a way to extend the cross country trail because they use it all year round like for walking their dog and stuff but you said they said you just go up and you turn around you come back it's they said we're supposed to get a trail and it never happened and I said well we lost our money and so that's what happened there but they said if there was a way to extend it somehow so that it was a little more exciting or a little more to it than just like half the lake something it's only like a third of the lake cuz Creek owns the other part of it computer's got slower come on oh yeah because we wouldn't be able to go all around the whole lake no but they said if we could look at something to extend it somehow or so right now um so what lake is this Fish Lake this is Fish Lake it's actually owned by the U ofm we have a easement there we own uh this piece right here we have a a little shelter this is the parking area so the trail that we have now you park here you walk down to the to the lake it goes up to about somewhere right in here this way and then you can go down all the way around the south side of the lake comes up through here and then we have these are all boardwalks we just we just repaired all these this one it really nice now these are like little Islands you kind of Boardwalk jump around and then the trail goes up and ends somewhere in this Woods like uh like right in here so the the idea was eventually it would be nice if we could connect it around through here and come back down problem is I think some of these are owned this one no this is the U of them still oh I think I closed the whole thing out shoot give me one second and they have a new um they have new staff up there too so this portion here is not is not one by the U ofm and there's not there's no room along this road if you've ever driven along Fish Lake there it's it's the road and you basically looks like you're driving on top of the lake almost but the idea would be to hook hook hook this around so you could make a loop around the lake it's all pretty wet in here but it it would be doable on this side the hard part is you have to cross this County Road twice somewhere in here and somewhere in here and then these are private the county might give us a easement along there portion but that's that's kind of the but that's that's kind of the what I think they're talking about making that so you go they just said it's just kind of you know you get there and then oh turn around maybe they should go the other way looks like it's further well they've lived there for 30 plus year so I think they no had been around because they said we use it to walk our dogs and they said you just go and then technically there's no dogs I was is that the one I was asking you about recently yeah well that's what I said cuz they're like can I go well we don't own all that property and then they're like well you're not supposed to have your dogs over there but we control our dogs I'm like nice save and that's the U of M's rule because they do uh ecological studies there so they don't want any animals kind running around and then um I did ask them about activities up there that would work and I said what about cuz I had brought that up about renting the canoes and or kayaks or whatever and they said that would be great we had canoes before and I said oh and somebody borrowed them I heard and they never made it back and they said yeah but I said if you if it was a rental company then it would just keep keep getting charged to their credit card I go do you think that would work and they're like oh that'd be great and then um there was a couple people who wanted to know why their Parks were in completely mode and I explained to them that was a cost-saving measure that there was one guy wanted to look at his Park he said because it's all developed around and I don't know which park I didn't have a chance to check but he said it's Wetlands on one side and then the other side is undeveloped Park land maybe we've got quite a few parks that are not developed that we they're not just they're just Parkland right now it could be one of those yeah I'll have to figure out which one it was but he said we should look at that cuz he said I have developments all the way around my property and he said there's no park there oh I don't know where that one where there that one I he says he has a 36 acre piece of land that he lives on and he said all the way around him is it's developed and there's an undeveloped park in that area that's what he said I'm not sure where that is I don't I have we got interrupted because people came in to vote so darn I had to do my job but anyway that was some of the things that came up when I talked to to the people people that were there so I hadn't heard the fish structure one before but that makes sense that seems kind of simple fishing structure I think that' be great over John Anderson fishing because aren't there two legs joined together the little yeah John Anderson has fish sometimes but it also freezes out some years they use it for uh a walleye stocking Pond well I think people were putting concrete blocks on one end that yeah I think we've got that Cur all cleaned up now yep they were damning actually Menard Lake that drains into John Anderson so John Anderson was really low and we had to remove that manmade structure to what the heck equalize the L surprised what people do why because they can got Lake sh around the other lake so that's all I have about that okay I'll get a I I spoke with that kayak rental company before um I can't remember what they charged to bring those out I'll get a price on that just something to talk about and then I'll look into the DNR fishing pier probably at probably have to be at Lake I don't know if there's any fish really in Fish Lake that's pretty shallow to well they were just saying because they' talked about a whole bunch of different things that round East bethl they said Do they still do this do they still do that and then um he said you know you know um he talked about Lake when we're at Smokies we like to walk through the neighborhood and he said did you know and I said well we're making some Park improvements cuz they brought up the community center Park and that kind of thing did they they don't know if they had a fishing pier on their plan for that park at on the the county park on co lake I thought they did did they have that on there I mean that that that would be the ideal spot I think for it I thought it was a dock yeah it might be a dock I don't think it was a f they were redoing it bringing in changing rooms like it was a whole big thing so I'm kind of like the sliding ha that they couldn't have because of insurance which was a bunch of how about putting fishing Geer on uh like in 2026 for for Lake wants it ONN I don't know if there's much for fishing in there in the we could put it on any good fishing lake yeah I mean the definitely be the best one for good Lake's a really good fishing lake yeah as far as you spal goes the H for tires yeah I think what we were looking actually was in the spring just out of the community center but there were people that there were a couple people that didn't want to have people but they're all gone now how about that other Landing right well they also wanted a floating portable toilet in the lake so right oh those are our that's right whiskey FL God this is the Ham Lake County Park boat launch and this is the DNR fishing pier they put in there oh it's skinny it's this it's one of the ones where normally you would come out and this piece here would be a t m but in order to get further depth they they spun it around and just made it go straight out oh sure actually helped them put that one in there back in 20 years ago or I was say last century if there's any water right in a previous life yeah so for fishing pier you need to have like on Lake you know City doesn't own any land it have that's it' have to be at the county park probably okay or community community center wanted to do it right which they could yeah they've got that whole we have a whole different breed of people now compared to back you kind of want a place where there's public parking too so parking in a street yeah that's true so buy the community center it' be two options or they could the D could put it on the by the other B launch too on the north side of the lake by the other Landing but if the city was to do it he probably wouldn't be able to do it at the boat landing I would guess yeah I think we for the fishing pier we'd be probably better off having the DNR take the lead on that they do a lot of those in different lakes I think we could probably find some money for for them to do that yeah a the other the other two requests I had were just like I said pickle ball um courts in neighborhood parks that we have existing already and bike trails I still get that a lot yep I've had one for eth Park um Anderson Lakes Park which is the park along Wild Rice Drive and it has a tennis court there already that's kind of run down so we could actually just paint wasn't it tennis Plus basketball in there yeah and somehow somebody got a set of bleachers I know I remember that when we did our tour somehow they got it in there huh okay well I got some stuff that I can put together a draft plan if you guys kind of brainstorm from here for our next meeting you want to see anything added let me know um and then we'll can review it and go from there I'm going to get the park I'm going to get the uh Booster Park skateboard equipment to city council probably hopefully by the 25th if they give me updated numbers by then of this month we'll have an idea on that so we should be pretty close on this park Capital fund the actual numbers that you see on here are going to be pretty close to where we're at okay oh can I ask where are we with that situation that came up last time about the trail out here and um oh John John Anderson Trail I we have don't do we have to put that back on this since it we already passed it we already had the money for it we don't have to put it back on here do we I just need direction from the park commission the city council to build it are we going to build it if we build it they will come I let's get it going well I think we were waiting do we have everything resolved over there though no no so we were going to try to cut down the trees clean up what we could did city council talk to the neighbor yet no I don't think so no the the that was the hang up was that and the if there was going to have to be like some kind of fence put in there what that would cost that kind of stuff so that one's still kind of hanging out there I I'll keep working on that do you think we can get that done this year um I don't think it I don't think we can have it done this summer no that would be nice if we could but yeah that been hanging out there for like 10 years all right could we have the city council take some action on that on the John Anderson Trail the one that yeah I just R down make sure put on agenda fure discuss decisions Bas might be a good meeting topic or something all right does anybody have any other ideas or no I'm good all right cool out there are all the notes I have I had from the council meeting that looks like one of those asked were you yes no like well I like coaching here first of all Al congratulations Denise congratulations Bill congratulations um I have to tell you this is one of the more fundamentally sound meanings I've had this year out of all the stuff I've watched on TV and all the commissions I saw more get done the more positive steps being made just with this meeting than I think I've seen all year wow and I'm being honest about that thank you is making strides forward and talking about each thing and involving the community members I think that's going to be the key and you guys are are hitting it right now uh we got one Park getting all new equipment we've got extra money there we're looking at what to do I heard solar lighting come up for safety purposes for kids it's a gra it's a great new green project I have no idea what the Lights cost uh they can probably give us some information on that because that was one of the topics that was brought up by the people out there safety after dark um so that's key I think as we move forward this year if you guys keep doing what you're doing right now and discussing the out like this you're going to set an example for all the commissions and I really feel that we have an opportunity to keep moving forward I know you all take great pride in making these Parks the best they can be uh and I'm glad I'm a part of it I will tell you that right now uh I look forward to seeing some of these ordinances come up I look forward to seeing was it section 66 165 uh on uh Trails that's going to be interesting I'm going to support what this committee says so what you come up with I will have some input obviously but I'm going to throw a lot of support that I can behind it to keep make sure that we keep doing the right thing for our residents other than that uh it's been a little slow up committee last two U two meetings I'm sure it's not going to stay like that very much longer but uh we've got a lot of work to do and I thank you for your guys commitment I really do and congratulations again thanks thanks does anybody have anything they want to bring up I had one thing I was wondering have you guys been to the um uh the University where they have all the dto and all that there we haven't been Park out there for a while have we no it was that was a number of year what four years ago before Co where we went out there and saw all the oh the experiments yeah I was wondering if since we have some new members if anybody would want to do that again it was very interesting I thought I agree one of my favorit that was a very you know what we did that before the Bison came yeah yes was probably a while ago eight eight years maybe yeah I could check on that drive back through there and if we wanted to use that as you know we typically do a one or two Park commission meetings in the summertime out at a park or something we could I could try and set that up they have a new uh director of community outreach um I think we actually had the the top director was out there when we did our last one yep the scientist yeah he was the there was a couple scientists actually I think that went with us we met them at their experiments I think and they explained it cuzz it was food food and something else yeah I can look into that you can drive through that Old Forest there or whatever it's just really fun to see it is it yeah looks kind of like AES she's looking for a haunted she's looking for A Haunted Trail going through the woods to find the house with all the candy all right does anybody else have anything no I do not not have anything else no I have one little thing quick and I probably didn't have to bring it to the meeting but we talked before about possibly putting a a um a box over at the Ballfield MH is that something that we still could possibly do and put some equipment in there for the kids neighborhood kids to play on yeah I I don't think that would be a problem okay yep and what did those boxes run again I don't remember they weren't too terrible a couple hundred bucks okay are you looking like at one of those plastic ones or yeah just a tote they they had one at the by the basketball courts where the community center bought it and they put Sports when we were out there we've been put we've been so lucky I mean I go to this go to Play It Again Sports and I write Cole Community Center property on everything and um hasn't disappeared we've been no we've been really blessed and I kind of was been Tsing that round about since we got the field and maybe if there was a set of bases and few balls and we got that little te- ball thing I put out there in the basketball court yeah that the kids do use yep you get a set of temporary we have a permanent set but they always get taken off for the games in there stored in that shed that the those are those ones are expensive bases but yeah set of temporary bases and they can play pickup baseball or something AB y okay you can probably get even if you contacted like s baa is that right the right they may have something they can donate for the box too what is it soderville bla oh it's the old that'sa they combine with bla now they sbaa okay that's an idea call me if you got a contact person I do not but I bet Nate does I do my kids don't play ball anymore at least at least in this area all right if that's it then I would entertain a motion to adjourn I will make a motion to adjourn the meeting tonight
