[Music] hello and welcome to the city council update for May I'm Wally Weiss Opel city manager the city council met on the 13th and the 28th of May and at the conference meeting prior to the regularly scheduled count uh city council meeting meeting the city council got updates with regard to a video production changes taking place very soon and also with the public works department Jim klucher provided updates on projects and organizational structure and the city council also got an update with regard to the Commons park building Renovations city council also interviewed several candidates for commission appointments and then the city council received an update on the recodification process Rice Creek Regional Trail long range master plan was reviewed by the city council as well as again another conversation with regard to the building at Commons park at the regular meeting the city council proclaimed public uh Works week and also police week and Peace Officers Memorial Day by providing proclamations to our police departments and Public Works Department department the city council went on to approve a uh purchase of a critical incident mitigation deescalation vehicle this will be uh take about 18 months for it to finally arrive uh it will be used by our Public Safety department to proide provide protection for our officers and firefighters at scenes of emergencies the city council held a first and second public hearing and reading with regard to an ordinance allowing electric security fences in certain industrial areas in the city that ordinance was approved city council approved a joint Powers agreement with enoka County and this is for the Reconstruction of Central Avenue in Mississippi to provide a roundabout the city council authorized the execution of a settlement agreement with a company hydroc clean for some projects that went Ary a couple years ago city council approved a sanitary sewer collection system project for this year and also approved a change order for the 61st Avenue parklet being now under construction and finally the city council went on to appoint or to receive the resignation of our HRA member Kyle M roone and then went on to appoint John Boyce to the HRA and then Paul Neely to the Planning Commission the city council review uh removed item uh with regard to the Rice Creek uh Trail master plan and we'll take that up in June that's it for May thanks for tuning in I'm Wally weissel city manager thanks for watching
