good morning have a great Friday we had Governor walls lieutenant governor Peggy Flanigan commissioner Willie jet and the USDA administrator Cindy long here for National School breakfast week and they were serving breakfast tour students you're welcome I was really fun seeing the students reactions I think some of them realized it was the governor and they were pretty excited about it trying it all right you the free School meals program is new to Minnesota this year and it make sure that every student gets a free breakfast and a free lunch the universal meals program for students in our community it's a game Cher we've seen increased participation at breakfast and lunch throughout the district students aren't having to worry about lunch money and I'm sure it's a huge relief to parents as well so they know no matter what's going on financially at home their students are always going to have a guaranteed meal here with us this program has made a tremendous difference because they're able to come to school and not have to worry about where their next meal is coming from they're able to focus on being a child and learning and that is really what we're here to do I feel that nutritional services are important because we could just serve a lunch and it can meet the nutritional requirements like the end of it but our staff put a lot of care into the meals they make we're trying to do a lot more recipes and products that reflect our diverse student body it's just great that the kids have these services available to them to our nutritional services staff in general you guys do a great job every single day and you put in a lot of work as if the governor is coming every single day so we really appreciate it
