[Music] hello and welcome to the city council update for June I'm Wally Weiss Opel city manager the city council met on the 10th and 24th and as always they met at a conference meeting before the regular session where they heard updates with regard to an artificial and intelligence policy for City staff they also had an update on the islands of Peace joint Powers this is a regional park that's owned by the city and managed by enoka county and the city council had a brief discussion with regard to the future of that uh Park and jpa the city council got an update regarding the park building to be constructed at Commons park as a part of the park system Improvement plans they also got an update with regard to the ball fields and the concern about replacing some of the fields there throughout the park system at the regular meeting the city council was awarded the distinguished budget presentation award Joe Starks our finance director receiv received that on behalf of the city the city council ordered preparations of a preliminary report in plans and specifications for the 2025 Street Rehabilitation project they approved an ease M for CenterPoint Energy to have a gas line run through Edgewater Gardens and then the city council also held a uh or approved a resolution in support of the planning that's has been done with regard to the Rice Creek West Regional Trail this is the master plan that was originally established in 1980 and now has been updated uh by enoka county and the city council approved those plans this Council also was approving uh agreements for the Intermediate School District 9916 this is for the city to provide school resource officers for the next two years the city council also approved an agreement with the City of Blaine so that the city police department here in Fridley can provide some assistance with regard to the 3M open and then the city council awarded a contract for the danu pond Far Lake pre-treatment project and this project will help pre-treat some of the water before it gets into those uh those small lakes and wetlands uh to uh create a a more healthy environment there so that project will take place this summer and then finally the city council um held a declared their costs and assessments and ordered a public hearing for the 53rd Avenue Trail walk that was constructed last year that's the updates for June look forward to seeing you in July I'm Wally we city manager thanks thanks for tuning in
