[0:00] Meanwhile, another sure sign of winter [0:03] is the opening of outdoor ice rinks in [0:05] the north metro. Blaine has a total of [0:08] 19 skating spots at five different [0:10] locations. Public works crews have been [0:13] flooding parks such as Happy Acres Park [0:16] for the past couple weeks despite having [0:19] to deal with weather fluctuations like [0:21] rain, snow, and above freezing temps. [0:25] The rinks open to the public on Friday, [0:27] December 19th. very popular. We average [0:30] about 183 users per day just on happy [0:34] and le alone. We get a lot of views out [0:37] here on these rings. Uh a lot of people [0:39] bring their families. You see multiple [0:41] people coming back year after year. Now [0:44] in a typical year there are about 52 [0:47] outdoor skating days in Blaine and the [0:50] season usually runs through late [0:51] February. Aurelia, Happy Acres, the Jim [0:55] Peterson Athletic Complex, Lexington [0:58] Athletic Complex, and Oman's Park all [1:01] have warming houses open 7 days a week. [1:05] I think we offer a really good uh [1:07] product for the residents and nearby [1:10] community, especially with these rings [1:12] here behind me are Zamboni Monday [1:14] through Friday and occasionally on the [1:17] weekends. On average, it takes us about [1:19] four hours to clean just these four [1:21] rings here with a crew of about six [1:24] guys.
