[0:00] Teachers in the Anoka Henipin School
[0:01] District are one step closer to going on
[0:04] strike. The union filed an intent to
[0:06] strike with the state and notified the
[0:08] district about their intent to strike as
[0:10] early as January 8th. Last night, the
[0:13] school board held a special meeting to
[0:15] plan for what would happen if an
[0:16] agreement can't be reached before
[0:18] January 8th.
[0:19] >> We are still in process. So, the strike
[0:23] is is not imminent tomorrow.
[0:25] >> A work stoppage is not a desirable
[0:27] outcome for anyone. Not for our
[0:29] teachers, not for our students, not for
[0:31] the families, and not for the community.
[0:33] >> Leading up to that meeting, teachers
[0:35] picketed outside the Sandberg Education
[0:37] Center where the school board meetings
[0:39] take place.
[0:40] >> A union spokesperson says that there are
[0:42] no mediations currently scheduled.
