[0:48] Really what's happening since around [0:50] Thanksgiving you know of course the our [0:51] last highlight was Spring Lake Park [0:53] winning the state football championship. [0:55] We had the SLP players in here to kind [0:57] of wrap that up. And now, Matt, we're [0:59] going from late November to to to [1:02] current time and kind of recapping [1:03] everything that's gone on uh throughout [1:05] the early part here of the winter [1:07] season. And there's some teams that are [1:08] looking pretty good so far. [1:09] >> Yeah, you're going to have to really [1:10] stay with us because we're going back [1:11] like we're going to kind of go through [1:12] this chronologically to catch you up. [1:14] Maybe you're still coming down off the [1:16] high of the Spring Lake Park Football [1:17] Championship. We do. We have some really [1:19] good teams um in the winter sports [1:21] calendar. We got a couple of basketball [1:23] squads that are out to early undefeated [1:26] starts. We'll get to that. Uh Centennial [1:28] Spring Lake Park in girls hockey. That [1:31] might be the team if you have to just [1:33] pay attention to one local team and just [1:36] the top level talent. They played in the [1:38] state tournament last year. And yes, [1:40] we're starting with it because we have [1:41] highlights from November the 22nd. But [1:43] fitting because the third ranked team in [1:45] the state in girls hockey is going to [1:47] kick off the show. We'll get into the [1:49] highlights. Third ranked Centennial [1:50] Spring Lake Park. They were on the road [1:52] at River Cities. That is the recently [1:55] rebranded Champlain Park Rapids [1:58] co-op. And whoever you're playing, CPCR, [2:01] River Cities, there's a lot of goals to [2:02] be had if you get it to that area. These [3:27] two teams rematched again in a December [3:29] 9th meeting in Circle Pines. They've [3:31] also beaten AIO Park Center, Elk River, [3:34] and Armstrong Cooper, who they sit on [3:36] top of the Heap in Northwest Suburban. [3:39] Centennial with a six-game winning [3:41] streak overall. It was snapped on [3:43] Saturday in a one-goal loss to number [3:46] one ranked Holy Family. The Fire are [3:48] 13-0 to start the Class DoubleA season [3:51] in girls hockey. CSLP are off till after [3:54] the holidays. We will see them on North [3:56] Metro TV coming up January 6th as they [4:00] host Blaine put out the cat signal. [4:02] North Metro TV is going to be their cat [4:04] clash as the Bengals look to recapture [4:06] some form. They've lost three straight [4:09] going into break. The Cougars have won their [9:13] last three, six of eight after losing [9:16] their first three. Kind of jumping all [9:18] over the board there. But only one game [9:20] left in the calendar year. It's tomorrow [9:23] when they host Forest Lake. The [9:25] Panthers, on the other hand, uh they [9:27] went the other way after losing that [9:29] matchup, losing six to one to Andover on [9:31] the 18th, 8 to1 to Bloomington [9:33] Jefferson. Uh on the 20th, they travel [9:35] to 52-1 New Prague tomorrow, finish 2025 [9:38] off with a December 30th meeting at home [9:41] versus Roseville. Blaine is off to a hot [9:45] 72 and one start to the season. It's [9:47] crazy to think how far this program has [9:49] come in just a couple of years. I mean, [9:50] a handful of year was it two, three [9:51] years ago, they only had a couple of [9:53] wins during their season, but here they [9:54] are, you know, winning, winning seven [9:56] out of their first 10. They went 50 and [9:58] one in their first six. Lost two in a [10:00] row to Stillwater and Chanhassen. [10:03] Bounced back with a 9-2 win over [10:05] Armstrong Cooper and a tough two to1 win [10:07] at Eastridge is uh their latest outing. [10:10] The Bengals will ring in the new year on [10:11] New Year's Eve with an afternoon match [10:13] up at Fogerty against Minnetonka before [10:16] starting out 2026 with home tilt against [10:18] Rogers and Lakeville North as well. It's [10:26] going to be a really good test because [10:28] right I mean Blaine have had some tough [10:29] years. The coaching change happened. We've got some really [10:52] nice starts for some area teams. We'll [10:53] get into both of them, but we've got two [10:55] undefeated area basketball teams right [10:57] now. So, they are out to a very [21:18] strong start in terms of postseason [21:20] seating in 74A, the section that they [21:23] share with the Cougars. They've got [21:25] rematches with Rapids, Centennial, [21:28] Andover, and In Noa. All teams they've [21:30] already beaten and will rematch with in [21:32] the second half. [22:24] Centennial's group of Isaac Win, Sawyer [22:26] Salada, Beno Shoeower, and Blake Thorson [22:29] would take the top spot in the 200 free. [22:32] Junior Brendan Credian of Centennial [22:34] with a sub twominute time. The victor in [22:36] the 50 free. Elliot Shepard of the [22:38] Cougars won with a 23.9 second final [22:42] time. And then the one meter dive it was [22:44] about Blake Thorson of Centennial. He [22:47] finished on the top spot with a final [22:49] score of 207.15. [22:52] And how about the two-way standout. [22:54] Thorson anchored the 200 medley relay to [22:58] the victory in the duel and took the top [23:00] spot in the dive. In the 100 fly, Beno [23:02] Shoeower led a pack of Cougars who took [23:04] the top three spots in that event. In [23:06] the 500 free, Brendan Credian with his [23:09] second individual win for the Cougars [23:11] who finished in all top three spots. In [23:13] the 200 free relay, Kats Walcott, Perry, [23:16] and Menlick won for Spring Lake Park. In [23:19] the 100 backstroke, AES was DQed. Tyler [23:22] Long of Spring Lake Park with a win. In [23:24] the 100 breaststroke, it was Cats after [23:26] a DQ. And in the 4003 relay, Rippy, [23:30] Takley, Perry, and Thunderboard for [23:33] Spring Lake Park took the win, but it's [23:35] the Cougars with a dominant dual [23:36] victory.
