[0:00] He's always kind, interactive. Um he's [0:03] always looking for the best interests of [0:05] the city. Um he's always has great [0:08] questions anytime I'm doing a [0:10] presentation and just want us to make [0:11] sure that the city's getting the [0:13] information that they need, but nothing [0:15] but cordial and respectful. He's an [0:18] advocate for everything that everyone in [0:21] the city's doing. Um infrastructure and [0:23] pavement management have been a huge [0:25] passion of his. um and he was the ch [0:27] really the champion that moved forward [0:30] the pavement management and [0:31] reconstruction projects that we've had [0:34] in the city since 2008. So Dave um [0:37] congratulations. You've been an amazing [0:40] mayor, an amazing champion for the city [0:43] and the state as a whole. So thank you [0:46] for all your service. [0:47] >> Mayor Dave is is wellliked. He's he he [0:50] exudes that positivity [0:53] uh and very uh adamant about loving his [0:57] community and understanding what the [0:59] community needs are and focusing on that [1:02] using his compassion and just his drive [1:05] to help the citizens and the community [1:08] alike. [1:09] >> Well, I'm so grateful for Mayor Dave and [1:11] his leadership for our community um and [1:13] also his mentorship personally. He was [1:15] one of the first people to encourage me [1:16] to consider serving on our city council [1:19] and um he has done that for a lot of [1:21] people over the years. He's the reason [1:23] not just because he's been the leader of [1:24] our city but because he has been [1:26] inviting people who might have something [1:27] to contribute to be a part of it too. [1:29] And so I think that's a big legacy that [1:30] will continue to live on and uh I think [1:33] those of us who come after him will try [1:35] to do the same. I just want to wish him [1:38] a fruitful retirement and uh hopefully [1:41] he gets as much enjoyment out of uh his [1:45] life after politics as he did in [1:47] politics and uh he continues to do good [1:51] things within the community. I know he's [1:53] going to still be involved in one way or [1:56] another because that's how he is with [1:57] the community. So, um I just want to [2:00] wish him the best and hopefully again he [2:02] just enjoys the retirement life to the [2:05] fullest. [2:06] >> Mayor Davis is an incredible mentor. Um [2:08] he's obviously got deep roots in the [2:10] community here. We can see by the number [2:11] of people who showed up today how many [2:12] lives he's touched and so it's uh it's [2:15] been incredible just working with him [2:16] and I'm very grateful for the time I've [2:18] been able to spend with him. I've got so [2:20] much gratitude today. He's been an [2:21] absolute mentor to me as well as [2:23] everyone else on the council. Um, I [2:25] think our city administrator, Patrick [2:26] Hansen, would say the same, too. Um, the [2:29] night the great thing about Dave is that [2:31] not only is he knowledgeable and kind [2:32] and all those attributes you mentioned [2:34] and everything, but he's so willing to [2:36] share everything about himself with [2:37] other people. It's not just that he's [2:39] keeping it all for himself. He's got it [2:40] out there where everybody else can use [2:42] it. He wants to improve the lives of [2:44] other people in any way he possibly can. [2:47] And so for that, I'll always be great [2:48] smuggling.
