Notable Quotes (11)
We have a firefighter that has resigned. Uh Levi Hillman. Uh, and I just wanted to make sure that we recognized his service for the time that he spent here at Oak Grove and appreciate everything that he's done as a firefighter here.
We're going to have a public hearing uh to certify the delinquents to uh property tax for unpaid uh utility bills and administrative uh funds. So with that I'm going to open up for public hearing.
The second one was for the administrative citations because this is the first year we've actually had some of those and actually in fact had some that didn't pay them. Um and then uh also the animal control. We are trying to recoup the cost the city incurs in those.
Integrated Protection Systems is my company. Um, we've been working with the city since before I was on planning committee, let alone council. um as the low voltage uh integrator here. Uh the bills are for the new building. We are we won that bid. Um and uh they are for uh a portion of the access control security camera system. I will be abstaining from this vote as I usually do.
Integrated Protection Systems was selected as the lowest uh quote for both access control security cameras and then also the um the low voltage cabling in the new building. Okay. This is uh progress payments for report completed.
council resolution 2026142 approving the minor subdivision for Bob Fodnness is before you again tonight with a full counsel for consideration.
I would approve this. Um, I would approve it because of the lot size. Uh, I think uh the because of the variance and we did pass the variance. It's it's a it's a pro perfect opportunity or a perfect storm that your lot is sort of out of skew a little bit to make this happen. But that's what the var variance process is for in my eyes to make some corrections.
I know how much goes into this. I've done a lot of building and developing and uh you know, I will be honest after the last vote. I was completely blindsided. I didn't understand. I had jumped through every hoop. Uh met every requirement of the section 10948A. And I mean, I did my homework on this and I glad that eventually we got to that point because this started back in May of 2025.
I think one thing the council did agree to at this point is keeping the north parking lot both for the lighting event, access to the pickle ball courts, the playground, the future veterans memorial, also recycle day. So that is an area that will still be utilized whether the building stays or not.
I still stand where I've stood the whole time that um I'm not interested in keeping this building. I think we've done a really good job up there. I understand the Alina and the sheriff's office because that was something I was pushing hard for for a long time, but the sheriff doesn't seem to be overly interested in that at this particular time because of the take-home squad program.
I would like to add that I I think it's important that we stand by our word. As much as this could potentially be utilized for public works, we did say when we got our new city hall and fire station that we would tear this building down. So I believe that it's important for us to stand by our word to our city.
