My name is Dan Spect. I've been on the council since 2019. It's been an honor and privilege to serve there. Been living in Ramsey since 2012, and I'm just excited for the opportunity to continue to uh possibly serve the residents of Ramsey.
My name is Victor Juma. I'm a candidate for Ramsey City Council Ward Three... I'm a resident for Ramsey, a father, a community leader, an advocate uh professionally. I work at human services social work... I'm currently serving at the Ramsey uh charter commission.
I ran and I still believe that all people should have a voice in our community... Learning to balance the needs of the students, teachers, and parents taught me to value different perspectives and the importance of hearing all sides of an issue.
I'm running for for city council because I want to contribute to the decisions that shape community, shape our community and show residents have a meaningful voice in those decisions... I will bring a collaborative approach, uh experience managing resources and a commitment to transparency and accountability.
I do believe one of the Ramsey's greatest needs in insurance that are uh continued growth uh is supported by responsive uh respon responsible uh planning financial accountability and infrastructure that meets the needs of our residents.
I think the greatest need overall, if you had to say one, would be to have a voice in city hall that's going to both listen and represent what the residents want and help them with their concerns.
We need to keep our development um as we've been doing kind of lower density housing, lower density areas more in the southern area of Ramsey. That's in the core even on the southern side of 10. We need to keep rural parts of Ramsey rural.
My vision for Ramsey uh over the next four years uh pretty much centers on responsibility um responsible growth uh financial uh sustainability uh and preserving the unique character of our community.
One of the things I always uh refer back to is just uh rapport building, uh being able to uh meet together, being able to be respectful um um everybody's opinion, being able to just be uh being able to sit down on a on a seat on a on a chair or on a table, have differences, and still talk and be respectful.
We need someone that's going to be a voice for everyone regardless of their background or or um anything about them... it's about representing them helping them with whatever issues they have with the city and We're letting individuals live their lives without government interference.
I've had so many people like message me and say, "Oh, it's so cool to see your smiley face there." And, um, you know, you brighten my day or like positive interactions... I really got to talk to a lot of neat residents several residents from Bowers drive from all over the city to hear some of the needs...
The fun run... That really taught me a lesson that when you start something, you got to go all the way through, right? And it's just really not about winning. really about, you know, the commitment that you have for that run... I'm going to knock all doors and get to know people of Ramsey.
Those conversations have reinforced the importance of listening, accountability, and thoughtful decision-m. I bring experience in uh business uh human services leadership uh community uh development and involvement and service in the Ramsey Charter Commission. I also recognize the serving of the city council requires uh collaboration, preparation, and a willingness to consider perspective that may defer from my own.
It's been such an honor to be able to go and I just love the campaign season because it's a great opportunity to meet all the residents of Ramsey... I've heard such good feedback on things we can do improve on, things we can do even better, new ideas... I'm excited for the and be honored to have the opportunity to serve again and continue to be your voice here in city hall.
