It is Thursday, October 2nd, and this is the Chan check-in. On Monday of this week, city council held a special work session where they heard a presentation from the sports facilities companies on the proposed Chanhassen Bluffs Community Center. Discussion covered projected performance, food and beverage options, management structure, and economic impact. No decisions were made, but the meeting gave council valuable context as planning moves forward. It's time for a lightning round. Our first environmental trivia night of the fall season is coming up October 9th at Hackamore Brewing. The start of the fall Chan Rex sports basketball season is only a few weeks away, so make sure to sign up. And lastly, do you want to join the fire department or perhaps you know someone who might? They're looking to bring new folks onto their team and are hosting anformational openhouse on October 28th. Training will be provided for new firefighters, so experienced and non-experienced candidates are welcome to apply. This week we're going to end on a bit of a bittersweet note. Although we're thrilled to be here in our new building this week also saw the beginning of the demolition of our old friend. And for that we turn to our demolition desk reporter Drew Saramski. Where we helped thousands of residents learn what impervious surface coverage means and sometimes just help them find the nearest coffee shop. I'll admit things got rough here at the end. Like that soap dispenser you really had to give the business to to get a drop or two. Or the ceiling tiles that looked like maybe they were hanging on just out of sheer loyalty.
