[0:00] hi I'm George Bender the assistant city [0:02] engineer for the city of Chanhassen I'm [0:04] excited to share that Crews will soon [0:06] pick up where they left off [0:08] reconstructing Galpin Boulevard last [0:10] year we broke ground on this project in [0:12] April of 2024 and a lot of progress has [0:15] been made this project is an important [0:17] step toward safer smoother and more [0:19] accessible travel but we know that road [0:21] work can be frustrating during [0:23] construction and we want to thank you [0:25] for your continued patience and [0:27] understanding hi I'm Paul Kyle with WSB [0:30] constructure manager for this project I [0:31] want to talk about where we are and what [0:32] we expect this year as we continue with [0:34] improvements we're in the home stretch [0:35] of this project excited for all the ways [0:37] it will benefit the community with [0:39] improved traffic flow pedestrian safety [0:41] and amenities last year just north of [0:44] Pheasant Drive to Long Acres Drive [0:46] received utility improvements block [0:47] retaining walls sidewalks storm water [0:50] upgrades curban Gutter and asphalt base [0:53] new sanitary sewer was installed from [0:55] topaz drive to crestw drive and water [0:57] main was replaced from Melody Hill Road [0:59] to North of Pheasant Drive and from long [1:01] Anor drive to Topaz drive plus tree [1:04] removals were completed from the north [1:05] of Pheasant Drive to Highway 5 in [1:08] addition to a vast majority of the small [1:10] utility relocations such as power gas [1:12] and Communications this year's [1:14] construction season is anticipated to [1:16] begin in early April this year's work [1:18] remaining includes concrete roundabouts [1:20] at Lake Lucy in Long Acres you can [1:22] expect four weeks of closures at these [1:24] intersections For Crews to complete [1:26] these final lift of payment from long [1:28] acres to the northern city limit and [1:30] lighting and each intersection [1:31] Landscaping feature reinstalls and turf [1:33] restoration topaz long Acres will [1:36] include curb and gutter a block [1:37] retaining wall north of Windsong and [1:39] final Trail Paving Long Acres the [1:41] highway 5 will receive watermain [1:43] upgrades curban gutter storm water [1:45] management Trails street lights block [1:48] retaining walls concrete roundabouts at [1:50] Brinker Street and West 78 Street and [1:52] Landscaping additionally some home [1:54] owners who lost trees will be contacted [1:56] by our project team to plan for [1:57] replanting or appropriate during [1:59] construction there will be temporary [2:00] Road impacts on the routes you normally [2:03] take to drive walk bike or roll our team [2:06] is committed to maintaining open lines [2:08] of communication during this process and [2:10] ensuring you always have access to your [2:12] home to help you navigate the area signs [2:15] will be posted for road closures and [2:17] detours in addition detour Maps will be [2:20] shared on the project website Crews will [2:23] typically work Monday through Friday [2:25] 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. including most [2:27] Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5: p.m. but [2:30] not on Sundays or holidays any work [2:32] outside of these times requires special [2:34] permission from the city this year the [2:37] bulk of work will wrap up in November [2:39] this means that Galpin will be open to [2:41] traffic although restoration efforts may [2:43] still be ongoing next year the final [2:46] layer of pavement will be placed on the [2:47] road from long acres to Highway 5 some [2:50] lost trees will be replaced where [2:51] appropriate in final contractual [2:53] touch-up items will be addressed in [2:55] addition to any warranty work to stay up [2:57] to date with the latest information you [2:59] can visit visit our project website and [3:01] sign up to receive weekly email updates [3:04] if you have questions regarding the [3:05] project please reach out to our project [3:07] helpline we keep a close eye on this [3:09] during regular business hours and aim to [3:11] respond within one business day thank [3:13] you for your continued support and [3:15] patience with this project we're looking [3:17] forward to the positive impact it [3:18] will'll have on the community upon [3:20] completion [3:21] [Music]
