The council discussed a series of updates and upcoming agenda items for their next Monday meeting. New city banners are being installed downtown to replace older signage, giving the area a refreshed appearance that residents are encouraged to observe.

Looking ahead, the council will consider a proposed apartment project in the Avienda area and will hold a public hearing on easement changes affecting the Pleasant Viewpoint neighborhood. Residents interested in the easement changes will have an opportunity to provide input during the hearing.

Other items on the upcoming agenda include discussions about Highway 7 improvements and a new concept plan for the property at 6440 Hazel Te, though specific details about these projects were not disclosed during the check-in.

In a lighter note, Drew Damsky, the city's point person on surface projects, provided an update on the delayed pickleball court resurfacing at the Chanhassen Rec Center. "When we first mentioned the Chanhassen Rec Center pickle ball court resurfacing project weeks ago I did mention that weather might cause delays and oh boy did it rain wind humidity so thick it turned the concrete to soup," Damsky said. He attributed the delay partly to adverse weather conditions and partly to "my relentless optimism" about initial timelines. The courts are expected to be ready by the following week, weather permitting.

The council will also tackle next year's budget during their Monday meeting, a routine but significant item for the city's financial planning.
