Chanhassen Highlights Public Works Week, Community Events

Meeting date: May 15, 2025
Published Jul 2, 2025

Chanhassen will celebrate Public Works Appreciation Week next week, recognizing employees who work to keep the city clean, safe and strong, according to the city's weekly Chan Check-In update Thursday.

The city announced several upcoming community events and services. Chanhassen Public Works will host a free paper shredding day May 17, allowing residents to bring up to four boxes of paper for disposal. The Chanhassen Fire Department will offer a hands-only CPR class May 21.

Residents can learn about a proposed roundabout outside Minnetonka Middle School West during an information session Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Chanhassen Rec Center. The city also announced plans for an upcoming Flash Vote survey and encouraged residents to register at flashvote.com.

The city council honored Arbor Day poster contest winners Monday, including grand prize winner Julian Millian. The recognition was part of the city's environmental awareness efforts.

Chanhassen has installed new pedestrian crossing safety improvements on Kerber Boulevard across from City Center Park. The low-impact, cost-effective strategy is designed to slow traffic at high-volume pedestrian crossings, with similar installations planned throughout the city.
