Somebody said, "Glad you're you guys are putting stuff in our community for the community to use." I saw that too. Yeah. That's not verbatim, but something like that. So, no, lot lot of lot of community thankfulness for the splash pad. A lot of community um Yeah, people I think are just excited in general to see it and and it's actually here, right? Yeah. Yeah. It's been a long time coming. No, Laura and I have been waiting forever. A lot of choice words during construction, but then when you see the kids out there having fun, you're like, "All right, it was worth it. It was well worth it, I guess. I say we've utilized it a lot already. Good. I got a sunburn today out there. So, it's been good. So, note wear sunscreen. Yeah. Going for a tan. Well, again, um was there anything else that uh you wanted to make comment on or anything about the the the day? I thought it was really good. I'm It was good. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, thank you everybody that can make it and you know it was good. Perfect. All right. Uh sponsorship of the disc golf course. Right one here. Uh signage and sponsorships. So I show you guys the latest iterations of the signage that we have. So this is the main sign that we're looking at having up. still determining size, but probably four to five feet wide and then a proportionally tall to fit. So, we've got the main course design here. All the whole numbers along with the footage is there up in the top right. Wanted to call out special thanks to uh the handful we have there, Core Trust Bank. They gave their uh $10,000 donation to the project. That's awesome. That's amazing. Yeah, that is awesome. Since we sell the rest of the sponsorships, it becomes a quoteunquote free project. Yeah. The uh city uh unique concrete because they gave an excellent excellent quote on the concrete for the uh teapads on that. They came way under the other ones. That's awesome. So, I want to call them out specifically and thank them for that because they were they believed in the project. And then Mayor Lutheran, of course, for partnering with us on the on the land and allowing us to use that. And then uh right there giving uh Andy, Jason, and Joy a lot of credit there because they've done a ton of behind-the-scenes leg work designing the course, getting a lot of this up and going. Right. That's awesome. Right. Uh if it weren't for them, this project wouldn't be near where it's at right now. Yep. So, calling out uh those for them. Game rules and course courtesy. uh just some language that was mocked up with with the disc golf course group and uh he didn't want to be put on here but Craig Nettlehip he's with Anova and he's a former well he's a retired pro disc golfer he works for Anova and does consulting he's his work has been free because we bought their baskets so he has been giving his input on a lot of this behind the scenes but he didn't he didn't want to be up there he's like I help out a lot of courses so um so he's helped out with design and then well as game rules things like that, little tweaks here and there. So, he's been incredibly helpful. Game rules here. So, that's what we're looking at. Uh the Carver County Sign Shop can put these together. So, once we get final draft forms of this, I'll get it over to Kyle Hebo over at the sign shop and he should have them within a week. And that'll be that plastic or what? No, street sign quality. Street sign quality. Oh, wow. Okay. Nice. Yeah. This is from Carver County Sign Shop. So, it'll be on the steel and it'll give you that high quality. Nice. Good deal. Yeah. And Carver County does these signs for pretty cheap, too. Fantastic. Uh this is So, yeah, the size of this we're determining four feet five feet wide. Uh this is the sponsorship sign that we currently have. Uh we'll have that at the top for everybody. logo, QR code, then something on the bottom of slogan, some wording that the business would like to put on there. This is so this one and the whole sign, they're all 12 in wide. This one will be 12 in wide by 6 in. Oh, 12 x 6. Yeah, 12 x six. So, be nice uh size. And then this is the whole sign. This is 12 by 18. Okay. So, it'll stack nicely and look pretty good. Nice. Way cool. Yeah, we've got the Mayor Luther and just a little homage to the collaboration here. The black and blending it in there and Yeah, that's little subtleties to it. Uh, I think it looks great. Yeah, that looks really good. Design has been done by Melissa Gomez. So nice. I was hoping Melissa still had a hand in some of it. Fantastic. She sure does. picked her up on consulting with graphic design for the park projects. Cool. So, it's been great to have her start working on this because the signage is looking fantastic. So, like with the QR codes, will that give a description of location and menu menu or what is what is what are we looking at like with their RV services menu? Whatever the business wants, oil change, oil change, tire replacement. We' place the onus on the business to design their QR code to do what they want to do. Yep. They just give us the graphic for it. Zachary's gonna have to up his game. Fantastic. If they want a QR code, it's not required. So, you don't have to pressure him tonight. I know. I know. Now you need to create a QR code. So, that's what we're looking at for near final drafts of the signage. I think we might have slight tweaks here and there, but this is essentially the form it'll be taking. I like it. I think they turned out pretty well. When are the baskets supposed to come in? Couple weeks. Okay. Uh actually the next week, 16th, 17th, and then they'll be in uh to the shop, not our shop, but to the place you bought it from. Then shipping from there is another fourish days. So, I'm guessing early 23rd, 24th we'll get them. Okay. And who are we planning on installing those? Uh, public works. Okay. So, just drop in. We'll secure them and Oh, so the pins are there. They just have to set them up. Yes. So, Unique Concrete, they set all of the sleeves. Nice. Just drop them in. We put in a secure lock and Oh, fantastic. Oh, that's that's great. Did you figure out a lock just to just I think we'll just do that. what you had suggested. Okay. Something simple. We just need them to not walk away. Yeah. So, as they're putting in signs, the idea is we have the baskets, we have the signs, and then public works is able to go out, set the sign or set the basket, do the signs, just go throughout the course and hit them. We got to finalize signage, get that printed, and then the sponsorships, as we get those in, then we can just have the signs printed and should all be on a single post, right? bolt them up on there. Another grand opening. Do you have a flyer made up then so we can present to businesses then? I to what to look what it looks like or I don't. Okay. We can print one of these up for all that matter. A portable and Andy Bio has one portable basket. Basket. You can toss some that and have more Mr. Freezies. Maybe if we can put a couple arrows out. There's one over there. Or if if we could get one of if Jason or somebody be willing to volunteer some time, maybe come up and just talk about it or demonstrated. Somebody that's got some experience with it. Like the retired pro disc golfer like how many people can say that, right? But I know like like Jason, I know he plays quite a bit. Uh Jean Paul Russo, I know he plays quite a bit. Now, it's 2025. sure they haven't talked about right because I was looking at that and I'm like well that's not Friday that's Saturday usually we pick that Sunday after whenever the fire department figures out yes what they're doing here and then once we figure that out the date then I tell the fire department to have their engine ready and bring Santa Claus in on that last year we had Watertown Mayor uh early childhood action council I think it was uh the crafts. Crafts. I think that was a hit. What I noticed? Did you guys go over there at all? I didn't go either. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I was there. Over to the craft stuff. Yep. I didn't get over to the craft stuff, but I know that lots. Yeah. Yeah. There's a couple there's a bunch of kids playing. Cool. Cracking seemed to like it. Lions was doing burgers and stuff or hot cocoa. Hot cocoa. Beverages. Y cookies. Cookies. Watertown mayor chamber choir was there. Um I did speak to him last year a little bit. I would was wondering instead of them just doing one little stint if they could just kind of sing kind of in the background throughout. Yeah. Right. For that hour. Um you know they don't have to it doesn't have to be a big show. Maybe if they want to do a couple of big numbers, but then just kind of, you know, ambiance. Yeah, sure. So, I don't know if that, you know, can bring that up again to Dave or not, but um yeah, because the past couple years they've only done like two songs and then it's right, they scatter. It's kind of be kind of cool just to if you just hang around and even if it's not all of them, just a couple of them maybe just Carol. Yeah. You know, getting people involved. I mean, I'd love to get people I'm not saying I want to sing or that you want me to sing. Oh, shoot. But I just Yeah, I think it' be cool. That's cool. I think we'll also see about decorating up the So, we put lights on the pavilion, but now with the splash pad, we could string up lights on. Oh, that'd be cool. Play features. That would look neat. So I think what was it last year Melissa and Eric put that together for the most part. So yeah, they worked on the QR codes and the flyers and both. They were marking us stuff in left and right that they were selling out of. So nice. Who do you remember which one came last year? Don't look like the sign up. Archery's also the Carver County Archery unit is also confirmed again. Sweet. Good deal. What does that mean? Uh, so Carver County Mobile Archery through their parks and recck department. They have a a trailer that they haul around and they'll come out to a site. They'll set up targets and Oh, they'll have compound bows and kids can That's awesome. Shoot and I like it. It's really different for music in the park, but that's that's cool. Fun little activities to do. Yeah. Okay. And then the other thing I have is taking a look at this potential project we're putting together. Um ah the parking lot redesigning of the city hall parking lot to accommodate more parking. Mhm. So currently it's uh this space right here that juts down this way. Uh has a total of 48 striped spaces. The idea would be we would square up the lot down here. Straighten it out because it's got this curve to it. Uh straighten that out. Roll of parking here. Roll of parking here. Roll parking here. Turnaround drive path is right in here. Talked to Carver County. They're good with us moving this approach from here to here. And they're okay with a second approach going in. Awesome. Right there. That'll be nice for events because we can have an enter and exit area instead of going clustered up there. I know we talked about straightening that out, so that's good, too. Yeah. Mhm. the the only new asphalt would be right in this area which would ab butt up to the existing trail. This extends out an additional 47 ft from where we're at. We'd also have some we restriped these couple spaces up here as well. But if you go with this design and these spaces up here, you're up. So you started with 48 here. The redesign goes up to 80. Wow. Which we need. And then on the south side would we would be adding a five-foot sidewalk concrete sidewalk that would connect up to the trail head. Oh, that's great, too. Oh, are we able to get this done this year or not? The idea. So, funding source on this is not the park cip fund since I've been thinking about doing this. Uh just I so sorry to continue on this adding this new asphalt we would blackjack seal coat the existing lot return it uh it needs the maintenance anyway I'll say we're going to crack fill blackjack and then everything's nice and black again with the new asphalt to stripe it all pure again I've been thinking about maintenance on the city hall parking lot anyway what we're looking at as potential funding source is from the street maintenance CIP We're looking because we in 2023 we milled and overlaid part of cold water and then shim core and big chunk of hidden creek. Two or three years later then you generally seal coat. Well the last round of chip and seal we did it doesn't adhere a darn anymore. We've still got chips coming off the You got to tell me. It's just strange. I've never seen. So, what it is is the oil that they use. You're you're no longer really using an oil based, right? It's it's a synthetic. It's a Yeah, synthetic almost waterbased type. So, it doesn't grip the fines like it used to. Plus, we don't do the fog seal. That would have helped because it sandwiches it. But, we're actually going we're looking at switching from chip and seals to a different product. Replay or reclamite. Hutchinson uses it exclusively. Oh, really? Watertown uses it. I've used it in previous cities. It's a soybean. You spray it on. Yep. Penetrates down in after you spray an hour later. It's good to drive on. Yeah. Baron used to I have a connection or I'm sure you do, but I have a connection that way, too. Mhm. Because I did that on my old driveway as the soybean. It isn't as black and No. But you keep on it, you know, every three or four five five years and it's it holds up a lot better. Yep. So, the city of Hutchinson has their own equipment that they apply themselves. Oh, wow. Um, we're talking Kyle and I, we went over to Hutchinson to talk with their street crews about it and they showed us the equipment and it's not anything we couldn't put together ourselves, but I want to have a since Watertown uses it, I want to have a conversation with Watertown about going in on joint equipment. It's not like each city needs their own applicator. Absolutely. No. So if you can have cities go in on an applicator and then mayor uses it one you know for a week bring it up to water. So do we still hire all crack filling then? Yeah. So they come in crack fill and then do the application after that. Yeah. So we have hire out the crack filling route them out seal everything up patch where we need to patch and then you do it over the top of that. So then the theory is is then we can get more roads done in a year per se. than previous because cost is roughly the same. Oh, as far as uh but you can do it when you want to do it. We can do it when we want to do it and chip and seals being less and less worthwhile. We're need to shift to alternative product. So anyway, wrapping into that this year we're planning on chip and sealing. We haven't fully pivoted away from that yet and it's two to three years. You usually like to do that on your new streets. So pushing it out a year isn't going to harm anything, right? So with that in mind, push the street maintenance next year since it's not going to harm anything since we're only going to be doing streets that were done two years ago and then use the funding this year to add that take care of the parking lot because as we can see, we could use it right now. Yeah, it's full. Yeah. Yeah, it's absolutely full. Yeah, that would be it's a lot. That's what 30 some spots for not a whole lot of asphalt adding, right? Darn near double your capacity. Yeah. Cool. So, working on getting uh the costs together on that. Um, I would anticipate this for the city council level summer, fall once we got everything together. Public works committee will be taking a look at it, but so far it a lot of people seem to be nodding their heads at this project. Sneaking in the crosswalk for by my neighborhood. That's all I'm saying. Right down here, just have a jut like that. I'm going to get out there with paint one day and put it on. H one day somebody's going to get hit until when our entrance or your entrance. Your entrance. Yeah, our entrance. Going over to Hidden Creek. Yeah. It needs a crosswalk big time and it needs flashing lights. Lots of kids cross by themselves. And people think people will just stop for them and they don't. No, because it goes from 45 to 55. Or some people like to go 25, which are really fun. Well, is there any way to just get painted crosswalk with a couple signs at least until we do get Yeah, I was pushing him while he was here because I already put it in doesn't seem really seem like park board.
