[0:01] 93% of residents rate the job [0:04] performance of teachers and [0:05] instructional staff as excellent or [0:07] good. That trust and pride comes from [0:09] the incredible commitment of our [0:10] teachers and staff who work every day to [0:13] build the foundation our children need [0:15] to thrive. This referendum does not [0:17] pass. Um we will be losing good programs [0:21] and good people. I love that my kids [0:24] have a one-on-one relationship with [0:26] their teachers, and those are mentors [0:29] for life. On Tuesday, November 4th, [0:32] district residents will be asked to vote [0:34] on an operating levy for learning that [0:36] would raise approximately $3 million [0:38] annually for 10 years. This increase in [0:41] funding would move Waconia public [0:42] schools out of the bottom 25% of [0:44] Minnesota school districts when it comes [0:46] to per pupil funding. It would also [0:48] allow Wakonia public schools to continue [0:50] prioritizing people by recruiting and [0:53] retaining experienced and quality [0:54] teachers and staff, offering competitive [0:57] salaries, keeping class sizes and [0:59] workloads manageable, and ensuring [1:01] teachers and staff feel welcomed, [1:03] respected, and heard. Our number one [1:06] goal is to truly maintain our amazing [1:09] staff. So, we need the funding to [1:12] protect and be able to hire the greatest [1:15] talent that we have in the state and in [1:17] the nation.
