With school upon us, students are either walking to school, riding their bikes, or using the school bus. And now is the time we need the public to be extra vigilant while driving through our community. And just a reminder that all drivers are required to stop when the school bus flashing red lights are on. This applies to vehicles traveling in either direction unless there is a physical barrier between them. The school district has seen an increase in stop arm violations that have been passed on to us that we do follow up on. Be aware that all school buses have cameras and that you will be caught and fined for breaking this law, which might include a citation or criminal charges. >> Keeping our children safe should be everyone's top priority when you are out driving. >> And with school in session, be extra attentive and don't drive distracted.
