Certify Proposed Tax Levy Payable in 2027 and Set Truth and Taxation Hearing

Stacy Sovine presented the annual two-step property tax levy process. The board is required to certify the proposed property tax levy for 2027 by September 30th, requesting the maximum amount as MDE numbers may adjust. The second step will be the Truth and Taxation hearing in December for final certification.
Approve Proposal for 2026 Metcalf Middle School Demolition

The board discussed awarding the Metcalf Middle School demolition bid to DRC Incorporated for $795,000, despite not yet securing all funding. Every year, we do ask for the maximum amount because the numbers that we receive come from the Minnesota Department of Education and these numbers can be adjusted over time.
