All right. I'd like to call to um order our June 17th meeting of uh 191 uh school board's policy review committee. Uh it is June 17th, 2025. The time is 5:00 p.m. Uh, I'd like to thank folks that are choosing to watch us remotely and the folks that are joining us in person as well. Uh, we'll start with uh policies with changes uh with Dr. Belmont, assistant superintendent uh policy 634, electronic technologies acceptable use policy. Welcome. Thank you, chair. Hello, directors. Um so 634 this is a continuation of a ongoing conversation around the um that's stemming from policy 524 which I believe went to first reading at the most recent school board meeting. Um so this really just it it pulls out some of that language specific to cell phone use which was our um original policy approach to that topic. Um, so just aside from pulling out that section, which is now living in that 524, um, some changes to the the title, as well as just some adjustments to the Roman numerals. Um, there aren't any other changes to this particular policy. question. Yeah, I guess I'm kind of Yeah, I'm a little curious on the order the the recommended order from the committee too as far as um 524 is now going to second reading. Um one other um recommendation will be once once 524 is in policy to make sure that's included in the references on this one. So our question, do you have any questions? But also once 524 is passed, do you want us to bring this back with audition? Should it to go to second reading? Open it up for discussion. So yeah. So we still got the second reading of the cell phone policy and we don't want to approve this one presumably until the other one is complete. Yep. That's well stated. Thank you. Um I guess it makes I mean it's not like it has to be passed approved like next week. this one I guess I would think let's we don't meet in July but if we bring it to the first meeting in August I guess it would be and we don't meet this group doesn't meet in July either correct so uh if we brought it to the first meeting in Jul in August are you saying potentially first and second that probably still would need to be the first well if we're just removing could that done is uh in one in one one go if we're just removing something that is and then adding the reference to the new policy. Mhm. Potentially. Mhm. Have that have 524 go first. Yeah. Right. Like we'll approve presumably. Is it on the agenda next week? I haven't looked. It would be for the second reading, wouldn't it? Mhm. So that would be done in advance of the August meeting and then in August we could have it on the agenda to approve including the reference. Makes sense to me. Mhm. That that's what I was going to ask. Yeah. That rather than the only the only other option would be if there was some pressing reason to have this updated now, right? then have it, you know, on next week's regular agenda. We know that we're good with adding a reference because it's a relatively minor thing. Yeah, right. That's true. They could just bring it back. It just I don't know if there's is there any timesensitive reason? No. Just if we did that, I would just ask that this one be on the agenda next week after the other one. Y in case something unexpected were to happen in the second reading. I kind of like the idea of waiting until August, but Rachel, what do you I mean I I think I have sixes. Y so August. No. So first first reading in August. In August. Yep. Thank you. Yeah. You're welcome. Thank you. Um All right. So this will be first reading in the first meeting of August. Yep. Okay. Next, uh, [Music] uh, policy 422, policies incorporated by reference with Stacy Stovine. Welcome, Stacy. Good evening. Uh, first policy I have is 422. It's a minor change. It's reumbering policy 524 to 634. Uh, again, these are just referenced uh policies. Um and that's the only recommended change at this point in time. Great. Questions or comments? Cool. All right. Uh so that will be uh consent. Uh next we will uh turn to policy 402 disability non-discrimination policy. Again 420 or 402. Um the only change that we have is just with a change of employment moving the the ADA coordinator um identified from Haley Busker to Ariel Olsen and the contact information for Ariel to be found as well within the policy. Awesome. Thank you. Questions? All right. This will be another consent item. Uh, next turning to policies with no changes. Uh, policy 401, equal employment opportunity. I have no change. I don't really know what to do with these. I I can list a whole bunch of them saying 401, 408, 403, and 805. I'm not recommending any changes. Um, and moving forward. Okay. So, we'll go through each of them one by one. Questions on policy 401? That will be consent. Uh 408, subpoena of a school district employee. Questions, comments? Consent. Uh policy 403, discipline, suspension, and dismissal of school district employees. No changes recommended. Comments. Good. Consent. And then we have speeding right through to policy 805, waste reduction and recycling. Questions or comments? Nope. All right, that'll be consent. Uh Carrie, do you have what you need on followup? Okay, awesome. See what comes out of the legislature. See what comes out and July newsletter. More to come. Awesome. I will call us ajourned. Thanks everybody. All right. Thank you. I thought 5:15 that was even longer than I thought. Good question.
