[0:09] >> An ebike or an electronic bicycle is a [0:12] bicycle that has pedals and it has an [0:14] electronic motor that assists with [0:15] pedaling. There's three different [0:17] classes of an ebike. Class one is a [0:20] pedal assist up to 20 m an hour. Class 2 [0:24] is a pedal assist with throttle up to 20 [0:27] mph. And class three is a pedal assist [0:30] only up to 28 miles an hour. You are [0:32] allowed to ride an ebike on trails, [0:35] sidewalks, and streets. You have to be [0:37] 15 years or older to ride the ebike. [0:39] Ebike riders along with bicyclists have [0:42] to follow the rules of the roadway while [0:43] riding in the road. They must signal [0:45] their turns. They must stay to the right [0:47] side of a lane and they have to operate [0:50] as if you're a car. So, at a stop sign, [0:52] ebikes, bicycles, all have to stop or [0:54] yield at that stop sign to ensure they [0:56] can stop completely. We would encourage [0:58] everyone that's riding an ebike or [1:00] bicycle for that matter to wear a [1:01] helmet. [1:02] >> Most ebikes are powered by lithium ion [1:05] batteries. Follow these best practices [1:07] to stay safe while charging your ebike. [1:10] One of the most important things while [1:11] charging your ebike is using the proper [1:14] charger that came with the bike. Make [1:16] sure you store your ebike away from [1:18] exits and other hazards. Charge your [1:20] ebike outdoors or in your garage.
