[0:10] Hello and welcome to the 2025 191
[0:13] Virtual Academy graduation celebration.
[0:16] I'm Kelly Ron, principal of 191 Virtual
[0:18] Academy Middle and High Schools in
[0:20] School District 191, and I'm so proud to
[0:23] be able to celebrate this graduating
[0:25] class for our virtual school. Today
[0:27] marks a remarkable milestone as we
[0:29] celebrate your hard work, resilience,
[0:31] and achievements through this unique
[0:32] virtual journey. Though we may be apart
[0:35] and distance, we are united in pride and
[0:37] excitement for the bright futures each
[0:39] of you will create. Virtual Academy was
[0:42] originally created in response to the
[0:43] pandemic as a way to ensure students who
[0:46] chose to continue learning at a distance
[0:47] could do so. but it's grown into what it
[0:50] is today, a standalone option for both
[0:52] full-time and part-time students because
[0:54] of our students like this year's
[0:56] graduating class who thrive in a
[0:57] flexible, independent learning
[0:59] environment. I'm proud that District 191
[1:02] can offer this option, but I'm most
[1:04] proud of all of you for taking control
[1:05] of your education and finding the best
[1:07] fit for you. Before we move on to
[1:09] announcing the graduates, I want to take
[1:11] a moment to thank our 191 Virtual
[1:13] Academy High School faculty and staff
[1:15] who have made all of this possible. We
[1:17] are fortunate to have so many dedicated,
[1:19] talented teachers and support staff who
[1:21] know the value that our virtual school
[1:23] can provide to students when done right.
[1:25] Without their expertise and their
[1:27] willingness to take risks to build
[1:28] something new and continually improve
[1:30] it, we couldn't have gotten to where we
[1:32] are today. I also want to thank district
[1:35] leadership and our board of education
[1:36] who have seen the benefits of our
[1:38] virtual school for our students and
[1:40] supported the creation and continuation
[1:42] of virtual academy.
[1:44] Without further ado, here are the
