the city of Egan is a modern Progressive City and it's a standard best practice to use data to have informed decision making and we're no different in the fire service we too have started using data to inform our decision making well we've got six dashboards inspections incident response key performance indicators training community outreach and quality assurance quality improvement we have that information displayed up around the stations and it's really self-evaluating and realization of that information so it's really helped firefighters understand how they're actually [Music] performing this dashboard is our key performance indicator our dispatch to en route so when the fire staff get alerted to us going in route on the trucks is an average of 1 minute 22 second for emergency calls and our Benchmark for that is a minute 30 seconds we've seen Improvement in response times not only just with better data coming in but also people recognizing the need and the attentional detail for their response this is our incident dashboard and this shows where our calls are that we're responding within the city our data is from 2021 to date so we can see where we've been through that 5year period how many times we've been there and if we want to filter it down we can do that so we can get really granular if we want to really find out what kind of patterns we're having the real benefit to this data analytics is to be able to make strategic and tactical decisions for the fire service here in Egan that are based on data and give us the best level of service that we can provide our residents this project has been really eye openening and I found it really fascinating this project has really automated this process and given us good visuals to show our data and how we're doing as an organization we're already a more efficient better functioning better responding fire department because of what we've learned through analyzing our data this is going to make the Egan fire department a better Fire Department
