we're excited that you're here with us today for this great parade uh my name is Holly Bernat and I'm Kelly Alwood you're going to have to listen to us for the next hour only 73 units we get to call maybe twice if we have some fun all right here we go kicking off our parade this afternoon the Farmington Police Department serving residents of Farmington since 1872 led by Chief Rutherford everybody say hello chief a kiss the pig candidate we know he wanted to kiss Betty but he did not yeah it is all right following them is our VFW Legion Color Guard thank you for your [Applause] service up next is the VFW Legion officers in this unit we have Doug tby past commander of the American Legion Post 189 along with Kim Lis post 189 Legion auxiliary president and those that are helping out our Color Guard are our military Outreach Farmington veterans organizations that work together to support military members their families and the communities that they [Music] serve up next the Minnesota Army National Guard we live here we work here and we serve here hey dog hey dog dog is riding in a 1929 Ford Model A Sport coupe driven by Dale lis and here we have the [Applause] Shriners thank you all military members past and present for your service thank you Farmington Police Department for serving the city of Farmington so well yes they sure do they have been active all weekend downtown participating with the the kids and the families they've been having a great time yes they have so for those of you new to Farmington due days we have been doing this celebration since 1979 that makes this our 45th year of doing due days it actually started because the city of Farmington or the community of Farmington was voted to have had more Mountain Dew consumption than any other community in the United States so they started with a festival to honor that and we've been going 45 years strong thank you to all the volunteers over the years and especially to this year's volunteers who have put on an amazing due days all right coming up here is Farmington tiger marching band Farmington High School Band program is a comprehensive instrumental musical education program that serves over 300 students four concert bands four ja Jazz ensembles a competitive marching band pet band solo and Ensemble contest winter percussion and many other small ensembles let's take a listen [Music] [Applause] down under the direction of Aaron Holmes Farmington tiger marching band is proud to perform for our town celebration they are also proud to announce their development into a class 3A in youth in music taking third place in Minnesota staff include associate director Bradley morisa color guard instructor Evette Hegel percussion instructors Drew Morisette and Robert skogland and field staff Elliot Duma and Jeremy man congratulations to the Farmington High School Marching Band up next we have Marshall lines Marshall lines has been providing a ride to Farmington schools for more than right here we go next our Farmington ambassador program the Farmington ambassador program exists to provide opportunities to young women and girls in the Farmington area ambassadors gain Poise front seat of the ladder truck but I don't think they let us just climb those ladders for fun even if they would I would not do it I don't know I'm not afraid of heights but you know that that might heard me World Championships in Houston Texas where they finished with a record of seven in three Wow way to go robotics the team also uses their skills to get back to our local community through them this year at Egan FunFest on July 2nd through the 4th and at their coronation on July 8th Farmington comp competition cheer teams offering compet competitive recreational and adaptive do youo up next is the Minnesota state patrol Minnesota state troopers were established in 1929 Troopers are responsible for keeping Minnesota highway safe and efficient today's Troopers are driving Dodge Charger Pursuits [Music] after our state patrol we have Jeeps for vets Jeeps for vets is a social group raising awareness of Veteran issues and mental health followed by the Lakeville fire department Lakeville fire and rescue has been providing Emer Emergency Services since 18 1884 covering 38 square miles of the city and UA Township in 2024 Lakeville began a transition towards a hybrid Department Department comprising both full-time and paid on call Personnel they currently have six full-time firefighters and 68 paid on call Firefighters over the next three years the fire department will enhance its existing paidon call team by integrating additional full-time firefighters Lakeville has 12 fire apparatus housed at four stations today they are exhibiting their 2016 rosenbower Commander rescue pumper with a 1500 gallon per minute water pump and 750 gallon water tank as a neighbor Lakeville is always ready and willing to help assist the surrounding communities behind them we
