[0:07] HCTV Sports is supported by the [0:10] Schoolhouse. From prom to weddings, let [0:12] us suit your formal wear needs. Culbras [0:15] of Hastings. From savory butter burgers [0:17] to sweet scoops of frozen custard, we've [0:20] got something handcrafted for everyone. [0:28] making the play. [0:31] >> He gets the pen. [0:34] >> Raiders are clawing their way back in [0:35] this game. [0:36] >> Just snipes one. [0:38] >> IT'S OVER. SAFE. OH MY GOD. [0:42] >> DID YOU SEE that big diving play? [0:46] >> He's a touchdown. Hastings Raiders win [0:48] the ball game. [0:56] [Music] [0:59] Good afternoon everybody and welcome to [1:02] McNamera Stadium at Todd Field for [1:04] Minnesota High School football playoff [1:06] action in section 35A as Hastings takes [1:10] on Two Rivers in a 3-2 matchup. Both [1:13] teams at 4 and four. The Raiders the two [1:16] seed, Two Rivers the three. The Raiders [1:18] won earlier this season right here at [1:20] Todd Field 2919. [1:22] I'm Nick Tuckner alongside Owen the [1:25] mailman and we are here and it's totally [1:27] different but it's the same right? You [1:29] get the two teams they know each other [1:30] so well. There's no secrets between [1:32] either team but it's a whole new game [1:35] and it's a whole new season. The winner [1:36] moves on to St. Thomas. The loser is [1:39] done for the year. There's a lot on the [1:40] line. So much more than last game. You [1:42] got to throw that out the window as [1:44] these two teams meet up tonight. [1:45] Mailman. [1:46] >> Yeah, absolutely. Like you said, you [1:48] laid the out the stage perfectly here. [1:50] There's nothing better than a Hastings [1:52] Raiders home sectional home playoff game [1:54] here. And like you said, it's it's win [1:58] in win advance and and lose and you go [2:00] home. So the you know, the stakes here [2:03] are are big and like you said, you know, [2:05] it's going to be a rematch here and [2:07] should be a good one. The the game that [2:10] uh occurred a couple weeks ago, probably [2:12] a little closer than the score might [2:14] have indicated uh you know, in favor of [2:16] of Two Rivers, but that was a that was a [2:18] close game. It was a competitive game. [2:19] But if you're the Raiders, you got to [2:20] feel good going into this one knowing [2:22] that you won the first matchup. As we [2:24] take a look at the Raiders schedule [2:25] there, you there you can see that Two [2:27] Rivers game on uh September 26th. Yeah, [2:30] the Raiders again taking care of [2:32] business on homecoming, winning that one [2:33] 2919. And as we talked about the [2:36] bracket, too, and just with St. Thomas [2:38] as we came on the air, they were up big [2:40] on Apple Valley. So, for right now and [2:42] for all intents and purposes, for you [2:44] that are watching live, we will say that [2:46] that will uh probably be the winner of [2:48] this game going to St. Thomas Academy [2:51] next weekend. You look at the Warriors [2:53] and you know what, their QRF is ranked [2:55] in the top 20 of the state in 5A. That's [2:57] because they beat Simley. They also beat [2:59] Apple Valley who's been playing some [3:01] pretty good football this year. That win [3:02] against Mano West perennially a power [3:04] team and a duel by 21. And I think that [3:06] really added to that QRF and shutting [3:09] out Northfield on the road 20 to nothing [3:12] in a place where they haven't been shut [3:13] out in years. That says a lot about this [3:15] team coming into the playoffs. The [3:17] Raiders got to have their best game and [3:18] even better than what they did on [3:20] homecoming as we hit the field today. [3:22] And and the game is beautifully set up, [3:23] too, because it's two teams that are are [3:25] four and four. It it's been sort of [3:28] inconsistent years. They've had both [3:29] teams have had flashes. Both teams have [3:31] had losses they they probably shouldn't [3:32] have accumulated, but it only starts to [3:34] matter right now. It only truly starts [3:36] to matter right now once once the the [3:38] rubber meets the road here [3:39] >> on NPN Live. Also want to welcome [3:41] everybody who's watching along on [3:43] Comcast on channels 14 and 799 on HD [3:47] as we are here at Todd Field. Rain is [3:50] gone. We've had a couple of spritzes and [3:52] sprinkles even here during pregame [3:54] warm-ups. something uh to watch maybe, [3:56] but really as we looked at the radar, [3:57] shouldn't be anything that will keep uh [3:59] the game at bay by any stretch of the [4:02] means, especially nothing like we saw at [4:03] Apple Valley earlier on this season as [4:05] Raiders who lost the the the coin toss. [4:09] Two Rivers won it. They will receive. [4:11] Raiders will kick left to right on your [4:12] TV screen as an end overend kick. [4:14] Then'll be taken there by Flanch up the [4:18] right side actually spinning away from [4:19] traffic there. That's going to be Kevin [4:21] Christopherson and he'll get across the [4:23] 30 to the 32 yd line and that's where [4:25] the towers warriors formerly known as [4:28] Henry Sibly for many of you that are my [4:30] age and probably above and they come out [4:33] here in their gold helmets and pants [4:34] that real gold white tops with the red [4:36] trim very similar to what you might see [4:38] with the San Francisco 49ers or at least [4:40] something fairly close to it. Raiders [4:42] will be in their home blues, all blue, [4:44] blue pants with the gold helmets now [4:47] emlazed with that Raider emblem on [4:49] either side. Hastings comes out [4:51] defensively with a four-man front to [4:53] start things off and out of the shotgun [4:55] is Drew Altoilla. He played really well [4:57] against Hastings in that first game and [4:59] he will hand off on the opening carry up [5:02] the middle. They'll run three different [5:03] running backs throughout the game. Plus, [5:05] don't forget Altilla can run as well as [5:07] this one initially given here to Jaden [5:10] Kinsel Eerando. He's one of those three [5:12] in that three-headed monster that this [5:14] team has as we see him run. Kind of that [5:15] same runner, the guy that will get up [5:17] the middle and bump a little bit with [5:18] you. [5:20] >> Yeah, it'll be interesting to see that. [5:21] You know, it's obviously a run for his [5:22] offense, but they certainly can pass the [5:24] ball as we take a look at Arerodondo's [5:26] stats there. Seven rushing touchdowns. [5:27] Definitely a guy to watch out for, but [5:29] you know, the Raiders at times have [5:30] struggled against, you know, [5:32] multifaceted offenses. So, we'll see how [5:34] they attack it here tonight. [5:35] >> Aerodondo four yards per carry over four [5:37] yards per carry, almost five. Just a [5:38] quick pass out the right side. Raiders [5:40] will take care of business defensively. [5:42] A quick pass and that is complete but [5:44] only for two yards if that even. So [5:47] quick pass out over the right side and [5:49] that'll be Longerman who we knew was [5:52] banged up a little bit on and off [5:53] through that first game that they played [5:54] with each other. But Longerman now a [5:56] little more healthy and you can believe [5:58] will be a catalyst here today against [6:00] Hastings. [6:01] >> And he's been the the mystery man [6:03] throughout the years on on all the [6:04] rosters. And yeah, you know, it's take a [6:07] look at the stats there. It's definitely [6:08] a difference when he's on the field [6:10] versus when he's off the field. That's [6:11] for sure. [6:11] >> 43 yds per catch mailman. Unbelievable [6:14] as his hand off the back field. Raiders [6:16] will wrap HIM UP. THROW HIM BACKWARDS. I [6:17] DON'T THINK HE'S going to get it as [6:18] they're going to hold him short of a [6:20] first down across the 40, maybe just [6:22] across the 40. And that's about it. It's [6:24] fourth down. It'll be fourth and a full [6:26] yard here for the Raider defense as two [6:29] Rivers looks like they're going to go [6:30] for it with Drew Alto at quarterback. [6:32] He's getting the play along the far [6:35] sideline here as we look at that push [6:37] and the Raiders right away signaling [6:40] that's ours. [6:41] >> I almost got a little excited cuz Shadup [6:43] is going to go back for the the puck [6:44] return but obviously they're going for [6:46] it here on fourth. Little premature [6:47] there. [6:48] >> That would have been wonderful too. We [6:50] know what that man can do and I can't [6:52] wait till he gets his hands on the [6:53] football momentarily. Hopefully sooner [6:55] rather than later if you're a Raider fan [6:56] out of the shotgun alto he will hand off [6:59] up the middle TRYING TO PUSH AHEAD. I [7:01] DON'T THINK THEY GOT IT. I THINK THE [7:02] Raiders might have held him short by [7:03] about a half a yard, folks. We'll see [7:05] where the spot is, though. They're going [7:07] to go ahead. Looks like he got the [7:09] little dive on top of a Raider. And [7:11] that's probably going to end up giving [7:13] them the first down, folks. The the [7:15] player fell on top of a Raider who's now [7:19] down. And with that said, he was not [7:22] down on the plank quite yet. And he's [7:24] going to end up getting the first down. [7:25] And the Raiders do have an injury. And [7:28] we're going to pick this up here [7:29] momentarily as well. [7:32] Is it Asterby? [7:33] >> I think it was Birkin. [7:34] >> Is it crew cramp? Berkin. [7:37] >> Berkin was in on the on the tackle [7:39] there. [7:39] >> Birkin is down here in the [7:43] Raider logo. [7:47] >> A real unsung hero for the Raiders. I [7:49] mean, I know we say that every game. [7:50] There's there's so many, but you know, [7:53] really at all three phases of the game, [7:54] that's a player that doesn't get talked [7:56] about enough for his impact. [7:59] >> He's been awesome. We're going to be [8:00] sure to say hello to one of our [8:02] wonderful supporters in the spoolhouse. [8:03] And from prom to weddings, let us suit [8:05] your formal wear needs. More information [8:08] is available at the [8:09] spoolhouse.com/selling.html [8:13] as Birkin gets up. He's walking off on [8:17] his own power, albeit with a limp. [8:20] Hopefully just a little cramp in there. [8:22] for a Charlie horse is Berkin coming off [8:25] 14 carries 87 yardds has a touchdown of [8:30] course a kick return as well this year [8:32] against Bloomington Jefferson. [8:37] >> Yeah, that really was the cherry on top [8:39] of that that Jefferson game. [8:41] >> Man, that was so much fun for Raider [8:43] Nation even on the road as Altilla does [8:46] have the first down and out of the [8:47] shotgun. Pressure comes far side's going [8:49] to throw in his off foot bump left and [8:51] he has his man Rory Schuler. It's across [8:54] midfield and out of bounds at the Raider [8:56] 46 yd line. So they get across midfield [9:00] and now another first down. [9:03] Move the sticks again. Does the Two [9:06] Rivers Warriors and Schuler again one of [9:08] those receivers that's been around a [9:10] while and makes a great grab there as [9:12] you saw in the replay. And now first [9:14] down [9:16] as Two Rivers their first drive of the [9:18] game, first drive of the playoffs for [9:21] either team out of the shotgun again. [9:24] Altavilla had a man jump got back [9:30] and now Scheler will sorry [9:34] Altavilla will call an audible. He'll [9:36] hand it off now. Jaden Kenzel Aerodando [9:38] out right side won't get much. [9:41] Looks like the Raiders getting up off [9:43] the bottom of the pile there with Xavier [9:45] Tim. [9:47] >> Only a gain of two. [9:50] Second down and about eight here now for [9:52] Two Rivers as they continue to rotate in [9:55] and out personnel. [10:00] Julian Lucio into the game now. He is a [10:02] tight end 61 190 senior. Might want to [10:05] keep an eye on him as well. Cole [10:09] Altivilla number six out to the right [10:11] side. [10:13] Three receivers, man in motion. That's [10:15] West. He'll give it to West on the jet [10:17] sweep. Gets out to the right, finds a [10:19] seam, cuts back into the middle, and [10:20] he'll get near a first down if uh yeah, [10:23] he did get it. First down, gain of about [10:26] nine. [10:27] Now that Jet, you're seeing a lot of [10:29] kind of versatility in coach or offense [10:33] as you take a look at Lonnie West and [10:35] again even with his season so far 15 and [10:37] 1/2 yards per reception with five [10:39] touchdowns. Going to have to keep tabs [10:42] on his speed and elusiveness throughout [10:44] this game if you're a Raider or Raider [10:46] fan. [10:48] Farhash right shotgun here for Altilla. [10:51] One man to the right side, one to the [10:53] left. Single back. That's Fla takes the [10:55] carry and he'll gain about two. kind of [10:57] been the protocol here on first down. [10:59] You know, they get that twoyd run right [11:00] away and then sets you up for second and [11:03] long and then kind of let her rip. See [11:05] what you can get on first down. That [11:06] time gain about two and a half, maybe [11:08] three. So, second down set up here for [11:10] Two Rivers. Still riding that right hash [11:12] with Alt Villa. [11:14] >> Yeah, it's been a very predictable [11:15] offense thus far for Two Rivers. You [11:17] take a look at Alta Villa's stats. [11:19] Anytime you see more touchdowns than [11:21] interceptions, that's that's always [11:22] impressive in my mind at the high school [11:24] level to go with seven rushing [11:25] touchdowns. Multisport athletes been [11:27] really good this year for two rivers [11:29] back to pass air mails his intended [11:32] target. That was West had some zip on [11:35] that ball and we talked about that the [11:36] first game that Alilla he looks the part [11:39] you know when he drops back passes I [11:41] mean fundamentally he really looks sound [11:42] and there a lot of steam on it. Just [11:45] airmoiled it a little bit as he looked [11:47] for West. [11:48] >> Yeah, let's leave the air mailing to me. [11:50] >> Yeah, you are the mailman. two. [11:54] >> But but to your your point about the [11:56] receivers and and and their average [11:58] reception, it is a big play pass [12:00] offense, [12:00] >> right? [12:02] >> Got to hold him down, especially when [12:03] Loggerman, who's in motion, is out [12:05] there. And now they'll get a sack. It [12:07] looked like they were going to maybe try [12:09] a quarterback draw here. Raiders sent [12:11] the troops and then some. Tim leading [12:13] the attack. Boardman also in. And it's [12:16] great to see Graham Berkin also coming [12:18] back onto the field, one of the Raiders [12:20] senior captains. But yeah, look at that. [12:22] gang tackle of epic proportions right up [12:24] the middle for the blue and gold guys. [12:26] Both down [12:27] >> and Tim has gotten so much better as the [12:29] season has gone on. I mean, we've really [12:31] been calling his name the last handful [12:33] of games. [12:34] >> He might be the most improved player [12:36] this year on this team. I from start to [12:38] finish throughout this season, I I would [12:41] definitely say the junior is growing [12:44] into his own at the varsity level. [12:46] Fourth down and they'll go for it to [12:47] Rivers back to pass. Salt Villa Raiders [12:50] send four. Pass over the middle. [12:51] Intercepted by Hastings and they're [12:54] down. It's intercepted by Carter Herman [12:56] O'Brien at the 14 yd line. [12:59] Would have been a turnover on Downs [13:01] anyway. But Carter Herman O'Brien with [13:05] the interception for Hastings just [13:07] sliding down like he slided to second [13:09] base. Makes the catch. Raiders take the [13:12] ball. We do give them about 20 yardds in [13:15] field position, but that's okay. We'll [13:17] take it all day. Raiders student section [13:19] decked out in all black. They're happy. [13:21] They're excited. Let's get a look at the [13:23] Raider offense for the first time. [13:25] >> Yeah, like you said, you you hope the [13:26] momentum is is worth the 20 yards. You [13:28] know, it's a it's a feelood thing. Maybe [13:30] mathematically it's it's not ideal, but [13:32] we'll take it. [13:33] >> Just gives more room for Shady to run. [13:37] >> I I like the way you're thinking. [13:39] >> He's in the back field single set back. [13:42] He'll get the pitch. Look out. He comes [13:43] near side 15, trots around another man [13:46] to the 2021 yd line, gain of a handful, [13:48] and makes it look easy for usual. [13:52] >> Oh boy, is he fun to watch. And I, you [13:55] know, we're at the point now where with [13:57] 28 carries, 1746 yards, 22 touchdowns, [14:02] school record territory all over [14:04] everywhere with his statline. Still has [14:06] a season more to play. going to have a [14:08] lot of college excitement surrounding [14:11] him over the next weeks and months and [14:14] afterwards for that matter as this one [14:17] Hastings has the second and four near [14:20] side hash and here is Hansen handing off [14:23] Shady up the middle pushes the pile and [14:26] he is very near a first down think he [14:29] was just behind the line here so it's [14:31] going to be third down and fairly short [14:34] here for Hastings [14:40] Raiders four and four as is Two Rivers. [14:43] Both teams some nice wins throughout the [14:46] year, but the Raiders winning [14:48] head-to-head [14:50] on a beautiful Hastings homecoming [14:52] evening. [14:54] Well, they gave it to the Raiders. [14:56] Raiders will take a first down. So, he [14:57] was close enough. [14:59] No measurement. Here is Hansen of the [15:02] handoff. Sheney again bangs off a couple [15:05] some tough yards here for Sheny, but he [15:08] does move the needle just a little bit [15:11] across the 25 yd line. He'll gain [15:14] officially two for Hastings. And I think [15:17] those rematches are always interesting. [15:19] And I think the as we get a look at the [15:21] Carter Hansen who's really improved as [15:23] the as the season has gone on, four [15:24] touchdowns, six interceptions, has [15:27] become really good at that that bootleg. [15:29] I'll get to my point in a second, but [15:31] >> he's really improved as well. might be [15:33] the most improved offensive player to go [15:34] with the most improved defensive player [15:36] in town. [15:36] >> Really has been as a junior needed to [15:39] again grow into his position. Quick [15:42] pass. He's got a span and that's one of [15:44] those passes you're talking about and [15:47] this time hitting one of the better [15:48] pitchers in the Hastings baseball [15:51] rotation and Carter Lundstöm and the [15:53] senior with a big catch. We've seen that [15:55] a couple times man. [15:57] >> Yeah, that is just to to perfection. And [15:59] I mean, they've really got that down as [16:01] the season has go has gone on and it it [16:03] just pairs so nicely with what Shadic [16:06] can do on the ground cuz you see, you [16:07] know, he's starting to get one, two, [16:09] three yards of carry like Yeah, like [16:10] you're saying, stretches stretches out [16:12] the defense. [16:13] >> Three receivers all bunched and then the [16:16] motion comes bringing them all to the [16:17] left side. Left side is the far side of [16:20] the field near Ash. Pitch out goes to [16:22] Zack Shadic. lines rope, gets back right [16:24] side, gets at least a first down, [16:27] carries four more for 15. Move the [16:30] chance [16:32] and absolutely no coincidence that they [16:34] had that play right there. Now you got [16:36] him thinking that you can pass the ball [16:38] and then there's so much space for [16:40] Shadic to to operate in there. I mean, [16:42] we know how deadly he is, you know, just [16:44] he's like a human joystick when he gets [16:46] in between all those defensive players. [16:49] a lot of Maddenesque [16:52] moves that that young man makes and [16:55] makes it look so simplified sometimes. [16:58] And I know even if I had the best line [17:02] in front of me, I would not gain one [17:03] yard per carry and just amazing watching [17:06] this young man out of the eye. FAKE THE [17:08] HANDOFF. GOOD BOOT. There it is again. [17:11] Thrown out to the right side. Lunstrom [17:13] breaks the tackle, gets out right side [17:15] across the 25. Thrown out of bounds. [17:17] Let's move those chains again. [17:21] >> Yeah, we'll take a look at it on the [17:22] replay here. Again, they got, you know, [17:24] a couple of different ways they can kind [17:26] of disguise that that bootleg roll out [17:29] kind of lob that uh Hansen's been so [17:31] good at, especially the the second half [17:33] of this season. Like I said, I mean, it [17:35] it really pairs nicely with the run [17:37] game. And you can see, I mean, it's [17:39] they're they're inching towards the end [17:40] zone here. Hat tip to Manny. Carter to [17:43] Carter connection. That was wonderful. [17:46] Second one on this drive. 357 to go here [17:49] in the first quarter. No score. Raiders [17:52] first drive near hash and on the pitch [17:54] out to Shadic. He'll skip across the 25. [17:56] Fall ahead to the 23. He'll gain maybe [17:59] about a yard there. [18:02] All right. But I see what they're doing [18:03] trying to free him up into space. And [18:05] you and I both have seen throughout this [18:07] year and last when he gets into space, [18:10] crazy things happen. [18:13] >> Yeah. Grant Birkkins back in the game as [18:15] well throwing out some vicious blocks. [18:18] You hope that there's a little bit of [18:20] restraint to not draw a penalty because [18:22] we know how sometimes that that goes. [18:24] Sometimes it's the last person who [18:26] initiates and gets the the flag thrown [18:28] on him. [18:28] >> Retaliation never pays. [18:32] Here's a Raiders again. Back to pass. [18:34] Hansen has a man Foss. Touchdown [18:37] Raiders. Welcome to the playoffs. [18:40] Matthew Foss [18:43] great pass quick drop throws a teardrop [18:48] and the rainbow falls into the hands of [18:50] an awaiting Matt Voss and it's 6 nothing [18:53] blue and gold guys. You see the stats [18:56] there. That's going to be his fourth [18:57] touchdown on the year. And we've been [18:59] talking so much about Carter Lundstrom [19:00] and rightfully so. They forgot about [19:02] Matt who has been the best receiver the [19:04] entire year. [19:08] Oh boy, was that fun. [19:10] >> Webby's kick up and good. Weber through. [19:13] 7 nothing Hastings with the lead. Not [19:17] much of the run, but I'll tell you what, [19:20] Hansen comes home and makes his presence [19:23] known and felt to the Warriors in a 7 [19:26] nothing Raider lead. That was a nice [19:28] drive. I mean, you got to applaud the [19:30] Raiders. You know, that's what an 85 yd [19:31] drive. Made it look pretty surgical as a [19:34] Raider fan and Raider grad. I'm pretty [19:36] happy right now though, man. [19:38] >> Yeah, rightfully so. So, it turns out [19:39] the momentum boost of the interception [19:41] did matter. Like you said, it was just [19:42] more yards for well, not really Shadic [19:45] to get, but for Lundstrom and and Foss. [19:47] I mean, it's great to see the passing [19:48] game really start to hum here for [19:50] Hastings. You got to figure that's going [19:52] to pay dividends. And not only this [19:53] game, if you know, they can hold on and [19:55] and win, but you know, as they as they [19:57] go on, you know, pretty presumptive that [20:01] we're going to play St. Thomas or the [20:02] winner of this game is going to play St. [20:03] Thomas. And you got to figure that would [20:05] would pay well in that match up as well. [20:07] >> I'm sorry. Mil Grant Berkin was just [20:10] walking into the tunnel. Hopefully he is [20:13] okay. Maybe just get teamed up a little [20:14] bit more. He did come back onto the [20:17] field momentarily, but now has retreated [20:19] into the tunnel here with 312 to go [20:22] first quarter. 7 nothing Hastings on the [20:25] pass to Foss from Hansen on a great [20:28] Hastings drive after Oh, and an onside [20:31] kick opportunity. Raiders going to drive [20:33] for it. Big hit here right side at the [20:35] 35. Great idea, great opportunity. And [20:38] after making the reception on that very [20:41] play, it looks like the Warriors were [20:43] letting the Raiders know as Deacon [20:44] Staples, the big tight end, he recovers [20:47] it here. But what a great idea by [20:50] Hastings. Got it into that no man's land [20:53] for all but a moment, [20:55] but he got that big fella back there and [20:57] he holds on to it. He bounced it right [20:59] off of him. That's what happened. Yeah, [21:01] that was a surprise almost as big as of [21:03] a surprise and I'm sure Hunter will [21:04] remember that surprise onside kick [21:06] against St. Thomas a few years ago when [21:08] they had him on upset alert that was [21:10] coming out of the half. [21:11] >> Yep. [21:13] >> Uh Flancho will take it right side. [21:15] Won't get much as a flag also comes in. [21:17] That's in the back field. You know what [21:19] that probably means. So, we'll let the [21:21] officials do their duties here and find [21:24] out what this will be. Is Delfino Mana, [21:27] the junior running back, had the carry. [21:31] There's Bruce Carpenter. He's the [21:32] co-head coach of the [21:35] Two Rivers Warriors, also handles most [21:36] of the offensive duties. [21:40] So, it is against the offense. [21:44] that holding call putting Two Rivers [21:47] really behind the curve early in this [21:49] drive after recovering that onside kick. [21:52] And boy, that makes it sting even less [21:54] as the Raiders now because you're not [21:56] really, you know, giving up as much [21:58] field position as you thought you may [21:59] have just done. So Raiders will come out [22:02] defensively. First down and 24 yardds or [22:06] sorry 20 I think is what I did. Should [22:07] be 20. Back to pass from the 24. Altilla [22:11] escapes. lost a shoe and then falls [22:14] ahead. I think that was Altilla. [22:17] Somebody lost their shoe or something of [22:19] the witch. What are they looking at? Is [22:20] it a mouth guard? Part of the shoulder [22:23] pad, I think, is what happened. [22:24] >> Well, I think we'll we'll take a look on [22:25] the replay here. I think we might have a [22:27] a shoe thief on on the field. I think [22:30] that was maybe the contention two Rivers [22:32] had. I think a Raiders player [22:34] >> was sneaking away with a shoe and they [22:35] didn't uh they didn't care for that too [22:37] much. [22:37] >> Tackle them any way you can just as long [22:39] as it's not a horse collar. Take a look [22:41] at coach Dana Strain, longtime Raider [22:42] head coach taking over for another long [22:45] time head coach and Hall of Famer and [22:48] Mr. Bob Deeski, long time trooper of the [22:52] sidelines here in blue and gold. Back to [22:54] pass. Here's Alt Villa down into the [22:56] weeds. I thought that was incomplete. [23:01] So third down and extremely long here [23:04] for [23:05] two revers. [23:08] It just looked like he did he got on top [23:10] of that a little bit too much. Just [23:12] drove it into the ground. And I don't [23:14] think from the time it left the hand [23:15] that that thing was going to be anywhere [23:18] that anybody else is going to make a [23:20] play, even their own receiver. [23:22] >> Well, if you've watched some local [23:24] football games lately, I mean, who who [23:25] knows what a catch even is these days. [23:27] >> Don't even start with me right now. [23:29] Although, it doesn't matter. That one [23:30] play didn't make that game. Here's a uh [23:33] throw to the left side. I mean, Raiders [23:35] will be right there gang tackling a host [23:39] of Raiders. Borman in there along with [23:42] Braden Thompson Bicil's in there. Zack [23:47] Shadic was in there. [23:50] Also want to take a minute too while [23:51] we're we're talking. I want to give a [23:53] special hello and shout out to Shane's [23:56] little cousins. The fellas came up here [23:58] before our last home game, took a [24:00] picture with me, and had a couple of fun [24:02] words. They got to listen to the little [24:04] headsets and stuff. I want to make sure [24:06] those little guys have a little shout [24:08] out here as this snap [24:11] and then kick not as good either. And [24:14] this will take a two bounce though to [24:17] about the 38. So, what didn't seem to be [24:20] the best of punt [24:22] ends up being all right and Hastings [24:24] will take it back. [24:27] And they have a seven to nothing lead [24:29] here with still a minute 10 to go in the [24:32] first quarter. So a two-minute drive. [24:34] Raiders go out there, do their thing [24:35] defensively. I you got to think that the [24:38] message right now is just punch one in [24:39] again. Let's get these guys on the ropes [24:41] early and make them play come from [24:43] behind football, which we know Two [24:44] Rivers doesn't like to play. [24:47] >> Yeah, I mean the game is is firmly in [24:49] control of Hastings. We'll see if they [24:50] can do any anything about it here. Yeah, [24:52] like you said, if they could go up two [24:54] scores here, that would go a long way to [24:56] making you feel pretty comfortable. [24:58] >> Raiders with a good mix of pass and run [25:01] on that first drive. And here they'll go [25:02] to the run. Shadic with nice blocking [25:04] right side. Breaks a tackle. Make it [25:06] second. Gets across the 50, which is [25:09] around the first down spot. Gain about [25:11] five more. Gain of 16 yds for Zack [25:13] Shadic. Move the chains and the Raiders [25:15] the first down. And right into Two [25:17] Rivers territory is Shady in the blue [25:21] and gold. And you can see on the play [25:23] there, they had so few players in the [25:24] box because you got to figure they were [25:26] thinking that that you know a pass could [25:28] come here. I mean that Foss burned him [25:30] so bad. He burned the top the you know [25:32] the top of the se of the secondary was [25:34] like 5 yards away from the line. So you [25:37] know we talk all the time about [25:38] stretching it out. I mean this is the [25:40] this is the what you get to benefit [25:42] from. Carter short, Matty Long, and then [25:44] you have the running back that gets [25:46] taken down from behind the line of [25:48] scrimmage, maybe for the first time in a [25:50] couple games for that matter. And Zack [25:52] Shadic taken down. A great play there in [25:55] the back field as you watch Zack Shadic [25:58] lose yards for maybe what is the fourth [26:01] time to the season is what it seems like [26:03] anyway. And a great tackle on the play [26:05] there by Thomas Beck at 6'4 210. Really [26:08] strong along that line for the Warriors. [26:11] Raiders come back on second down. 11 yds [26:13] to go. Sheney the single set. [26:17] Line moves from the right to the left. [26:20] And here is the pitch out to Shadic. [26:22] Shadic finds room left but then waits [26:25] and gets into the oncoming hands of one [26:28] of the defensive players who is right [26:30] there for two rivers. And that was [26:32] Kendall Eerodando. [26:35] >> Number 26 out there tackling number 26. [26:38] I mean, he he looks like uh Antoine [26:40] Winfield, senior out there with that [26:42] tackle. [26:42] >> Both running backs both play both sides [26:44] of the ball and do it very well at that [26:48] matter. That's the end of the first [26:50] quarter. Hastings with a nice drive on [26:52] their first chance. Now they have the [26:54] football again after stopping two [26:56] Rivers. The score 7 to nothing here [26:58] after one quarter. You're watching [27:00] playoff football on Hastings Community [27:02] Television. [27:13] The United Heroes League mainly uses [27:14] sports as a bridge to help military [27:16] families stay active and engaged in [27:18] their communities. We have over 40 [27:20] professional teams that partner with us [27:22] for free tickets and camps. We provide [27:25] access to free sporting equipment. [27:27] >> UHL has provided us with a lot of [27:29] equipment and a lot of gear that is [27:30] otherwise sometimes hard to attain. [27:32] >> It's really cool. I get all this free [27:34] stuff and it's because of my great dad [27:37] who is a veteran. [27:40] >> UHL has been a great supporter not just [27:43] for our family but for all the military [27:45] families. [27:47] >> We're excited to see what the future [27:48] holds. We can't wait to see where it [27:50] goes. [27:54] >> And we're back here as we start the [27:56] second quarter. Hastings with the [27:57] football and it's third down and about [28:00] seven. Rolling out right side. Hansen [28:03] has some room and he throws it in a [28:04] little bit of traffic and a great play [28:06] along the backside. Hastings looking for [28:08] Foss, but it's broken up by Lamont [28:11] Michaels. And that'll bring up fourth [28:12] down. And what do the Raiders do here? [28:13] Mailman, [28:15] >> you're in no man's land here on on the [28:18] field. I mean, I think for the Raiders, [28:20] you really got to think about going for [28:22] it here. Looks like they're probably [28:23] going to keep the uh the offense out [28:25] here, but it's a tricky spot in the [28:28] field. You would love to see the next [28:30] evolution for Hansen. I don't know if he [28:32] would have got it there, but you'd like [28:33] to see the next evolution for him just [28:35] be taking off and running with it [28:37] because, you know, we've seen him [28:38] connect on a lot of these bootlegs. [28:40] We've seen him try to force some passes [28:42] in there like he did there. You'd like [28:43] to see him just scramble off with his [28:45] wheels. [28:46] >> Raiders trying to reset that offense and [28:48] now we're going to get a whistle. I [28:49] think we're going to call timeout. Yeah, [28:51] that's a good idea. Make sure on fourth [28:53] down that you have the right personnel, [28:55] exactly what you want to have happen [28:57] ready to rock and roll here. So, like I [28:59] said before, Raiders will talk about it [29:02] here and that'll give us time to talk [29:03] about Culver's of Hastings mail. Man, [29:06] that sounds so good per usual and one of [29:08] our postgame stops throughout the [29:10] season. [29:11] >> Yeah, I I just had Culver's last night. [29:13] I had their chicken tenders, the best [29:16] chicken tenders as far as I can tell. [29:18] Uh, you know, in the fast food [29:19] landscape, HCTV Sports is supported by [29:22] Culver's of Hastings. From savory butter [29:24] burgers to sweet scoops of frozen [29:25] custard, we've got something handcrafted [29:27] for everyone. And you can visit us at [29:28] our location next to Cub Foods in [29:31] Hastings. [29:33] >> Always tasty, convenient. Just drive [29:36] through there, [29:38] get your number, put it on your window [29:39] there. They'll come out, bring it to [29:41] you. Great service. Here's fourth down. [29:43] Speaking of service, let's see if the [29:44] Raiders can stay in service offensively. [29:48] Fourth down. Call it eight. Raiders [29:51] stationed at their own 43 yd line. [29:55] Hansen under center. The fake pitch to [29:58] Shaney. He goes deep. There was contact [30:01] and there's nobody there. [30:05] Intercepted [30:06] by Two Rivers deep in Hastings [30:10] territory. [30:11] So, similar to what Hastings had happen [30:14] earlier on, Two Rivers gets one back and [30:18] the Raiders turn it over here on an [30:19] interception. [30:21] >> Yeah, you really felt like that play was [30:22] sort of an inflection point for the [30:24] game. you know, if the Raiders can get [30:25] the first down and and you know, add [30:27] another touchdown could have been big. [30:31] It certainly looked like there was some [30:33] contact there. You might wonder why the [30:34] defensive back was so wide open and [30:37] well, [30:38] >> we'll let you draw your own conclusions [30:39] on that one. [30:40] >> Ryder Harahan gets a pick. He is happy. [30:43] Raiders and Raider fans not. But the [30:46] ball back in the hands of two Revers [30:48] here second quarter, 1138 to play here [30:51] in the first half. 7 nothing Raiders. [30:53] And the give is to munch up the middle [30:55] left side. He'll gain about four, five [30:58] going backwards after that, including [31:01] Thompson who's coming up off the bottom [31:03] of the pile for Hastings. [31:06] >> But the the silver lining to that, just [31:07] like the silver lining for for Two [31:09] Rivers in the exact same scenario that [31:11] happened a couple drives earlier, is [31:13] essentially it's just an arm punt at [31:15] that point. So the the the yardage is [31:18] >> negligible. [31:19] >> Negligible. [31:21] Second down along four. [31:25] >> Two Rivers along the far hash in front [31:27] of their own bench wide side of the [31:29] field. Back to pass all to Villa like a [31:32] two-step drop. Didn't put much into it. [31:34] He air mailed it and that was just [31:35] fundamentals. You and I both saw the [31:37] exact same thing. There wasn't much [31:38] there. He kind of was almost playing [31:40] football in the backyard. Just chucked [31:41] her up after getting the football. And [31:44] that'll bring up Thor down about four [31:46] lings at a long four. [31:49] Yeah, they're trying to get Loggererman [31:51] into the game. I we even saw that in the [31:53] last match up between these two teams. [31:55] You know, the game was totally [31:57] different. I believe in the first half [31:58] when Loggererman was in there. They were [31:59] trying to connect with him and and then [32:02] the second half he was out of the game. [32:06] Raiders again will come back out here [32:09] with kind of showing three down linemen. [32:13] Back to pass on third and short. That [32:15] pass is to the left complete complete to [32:18] Lamont Michaels for a first down and [32:20] move the chains for two rivers [32:24] and a big first down to keep their drive [32:27] alive. Raiders last time shutting them [32:29] down after having the ball under two [32:32] minutes in that last drive. [32:34] So bring it out to midfield. [32:40] >> Yeah, Drew Altilla knew exactly where he [32:42] was going on that play. I mean, you [32:44] could you could tell the anticipation on [32:46] that one. It wasn't going anywhere else [32:47] other than other than to Lamont Michaels [32:49] there. [32:50] >> That short side of the field again [32:52] though work one receiver to the left [32:54] wide to the right side. Also one here [32:56] for two Rivers and the give this time in [32:59] the back field is the Verdeha and he'll [33:02] power himself to a first down and then [33:05] some. So Johnny Verdea checks in the [33:08] senior 591 190 little bowling ball runs [33:11] his way to another first down. And now [33:13] here is two Rivers moving the chains on [33:16] backto back plays. [33:18] Barrett Borbin's down. [33:20] Oh boy. The Raiders cannot afford to [33:24] lose linebacker Barrett Borman here. [33:28] [Applause] [33:30] He's trying to get up. It is definitely [33:33] a leg injury of some sort. Trying to hop [33:35] it off. [33:38] Again, not sure if this is a cramping [33:40] situation or if this is a knee ankle [33:44] thing, but he will be headed to the [33:47] bench. Training staff will start work on [33:50] him as well. [33:52] Not what the Raiders need here. Now, the [33:54] one thing we'll say about the Raiders, [33:56] though, is they have a little bit of [33:58] depth at linebacker, and they have some [34:00] kids that really can step up and play [34:03] very well. And the one that I had coming [34:05] to mind is the fellow who's now on the [34:06] field, that's Lucas Keller, who will [34:08] come in and play outside linebacker [34:10] here. We'll move one of the other fellas [34:12] probably. [34:15] Thompson to the middle, I would think, [34:18] or Esther B. Well, Estrabby will play up [34:20] along the side. So, he'll still be on [34:22] the outside out of the shotgun again. [34:24] Alto Villa a pass looking left the whole [34:26] way and he puts it up for loggerman [34:27] overthrew. He had him there. Now, the [34:30] Raiders had pretty good coverage and it [34:32] looks like we're going to get a late [34:34] flag and I have no clue what that it's. [34:37] It's going to be pass interference of [34:38] some sort. I'm hearing in the press box [34:40] now. I was following the ball. We might [34:42] have to take a look here on the replay [34:45] and see what that might be. [34:49] Yeah, they've been targeting Loggererman [34:51] a handful of times here in the in the [34:53] first half. That's a that's a big [34:55] penalty right there because I I don't [34:57] think that was really a catchable [35:00] ball there for Loggererman. That's going [35:01] to go against the Raiders. Well, we'll [35:03] take a closer look here and see if we [35:04] can't find the infraction. [35:07] A little bit of tugging there, but [35:09] >> come on. I don't know, guys. [35:11] >> Seems pretty superficial. [35:15] Okay, first down with the penalty. [35:22] Two receivers out to the left side now. [35:24] The wide side near side short. One out [35:27] to the right. That's Lonnie West out of [35:29] the gun. Al Villa will hand out. No, [35:31] he'll keep and then he'll throw it out [35:33] left side on a quick pass trying to get [35:37] it into the hands of Julian Lucio. [35:39] Instead, it'll be incomplete. [35:42] >> Well, we'll take another look at the [35:43] replay. It's good to see uh [35:45] >> Sorry, that's Cole Villa. Six, not five. [35:49] >> I was going to say it's good to see [35:50] Borman back in the game cuz he was there [35:51] on the pressure there. We saw another [35:52] look at the uh alleged PI. [35:56] The cramping might be an issue. Kind of [35:58] a cold, you know, h I don't say humid, [36:01] but you know, rain earlier on today. [36:04] It's kind of damp, [36:06] >> if you will. 10:03 to go. Second [36:09] quarter. 7 nothing Hastings. Hand off [36:12] for Deja. Goes off left, runs into the [36:15] out awaiting hands of [36:18] Thompson, but instead breaks through [36:20] there and ends up gaining a couple of [36:23] extra yards. Raiders had them bottled [36:25] up, but Verde fights for a couple of [36:28] extras. And now third down and about [36:31] five here in the red zone, too. So, this [36:35] could even be four down territory. I am [36:38] not sure if Two Rivers is looking at [36:41] kicking anything here tonight or not. [36:45] Jack Pick listed [36:48] as the kicker here tonight. [36:53] Out of the gun, Alto Villa again. Hands [36:55] off for Deja. Pushes a pile for a first [36:58] down and then some. gets down to the 10, [37:01] maybe inside the 10 yd line as Two [37:04] Rivers now playing some bully ball [37:06] between the hash marks and they will [37:09] continue moving the chains. Really nice [37:11] drive here for Two Rivers. [37:14] >> Yeah, like you said, they're playing [37:15] some bully ball here. I mean, the [37:16] Raiders certainly have enough players on [37:19] the ball carrier, but at some point they [37:21] got to stop the momentum because they've [37:23] really been getting gashed here by two [37:26] Rivers on this drive. [37:28] Tale of two defensive drives for [37:30] Hastings after [37:33] >> holding them to nothing. Three and0 [37:37] quick two minutes of possession and now [37:40] a great possession here for Two Rivers [37:43] and they're close to [37:45] delay of game and we'll see it should be [37:49] delay [37:52] and is it? It is going to be procedure [37:55] instead of the delay of game even though [37:57] the play clock goes up against zero. [38:05] >> Well, if you're the Raiders, you'll [38:06] you'll take anything you can get there. [38:08] Any sort of uh buffer zone you can put [38:11] between yourself and the end zone. [38:14] You know, this is starting to have the [38:15] the feel of the of the first game these [38:17] two teams played against each other [38:19] where it was just so evenly matched and [38:21] back and forth and then, you know, [38:22] somebody pulled off at the at the end. [38:27] 825 to go. Back to pass to Villa right [38:32] side has his man to the five to the [38:35] three to the two out of bounds. It's off [38:37] right side and that pass caught by Brady [38:40] Kinsel [38:42] and inside the five. Like I said, I [38:45] think it's right about the two [38:48] where he went out. 817 to go [38:54] and definitely knocking on the door of [38:57] their first score of the game as Two [38:59] Rivers Raiders trying to bend but not [39:02] break in this situation here. [39:08] I mean, the way Two Rivers has been [39:09] moving, it's going to take quite a [39:11] defensive stand here by the the front [39:13] four here for Hastings. Veras well has [39:15] really been bulldozing his way around [39:18] and he'll take the hand off this time [39:19] and he is in with relative ease. Kind of [39:22] like he ran that entire drive and Verdea [39:25] in for a touchdown. Johnny Verdea in [39:29] from two and it's 76. Raiders still lead [39:32] pending the extra point. [39:35] And this is why the Two Rivers offense [39:37] is so deadly. I mean, you look at who [39:39] was getting it done on that drive. Verde [39:41] Dayha, you know, maybe not the number [39:42] one option for Two Rivers, but they can [39:44] play the hot hand, and they played the [39:46] hot hand there, you know, with Kinsel [39:48] with the big reception to set it up at [39:50] the at the two. They have so many [39:51] different wide receivers and running [39:53] backs. So many different weapons they [39:54] can put in there. [39:56] >> Jack Pick, right footed kicker, puts it [39:59] through. And we're tied. [40:02] Seven a piece here on ACTV. Nick [40:05] Tuckner, the mailman Olani also here for [40:08] all the fun here in the playoffs. [40:10] Raiders look pretty good early and now [40:12] all of a sudden after chewing up some [40:14] clock and plenty of field in from two [40:17] there just bulldozing in. Yeah, he gave [40:20] a little bit of confidence back. We we [40:22] if you're a Raider fan, you wanted to [40:24] see him at home after getting that seven [40:25] and getting the ball back after a [40:27] two-minute drive from Two Rivers to [40:29] score. But now all of a sudden you look [40:30] at how everything's changed. The whole [40:31] tide of the game has changed now at 7-7 [40:33] here with 813 to go first half. [40:35] >> Well, like I was saying, I hate to be [40:37] Nostradamus here, but you know that [40:38] fourth down play, like I said, probably [40:40] was going to be such a big inflection [40:42] point and it was. You don't want to [40:43] assume if they would have got the first [40:44] down, they would have scored, but [40:46] obviously the offense was humming. You [40:47] know, that could be that's potentially a [40:49] 14-point swing right there. not getting [40:51] in the end zone, the inter the [40:53] questionable interception, but then [40:54] obviously, you know, the the the [40:58] hardpowering drive they had down the [40:59] field and now you're you're sitting here [41:01] tied when, you know, you were thinking [41:02] this game maybe would have been a little [41:04] little more easier at this point. [41:07] >> Raiders will get the football here with [41:11] 813 to go in the first half. They would [41:14] love to chew up as much clock ending [41:16] with the score as possible knowing they [41:18] will get the ball to start the second [41:19] half. Little poop shot here will be [41:21] taken at the 20 by Burkin. Birkens [41:24] return one for a touchdown this year. It [41:26] steps around. Another guy gets to the [41:27] 30, falls ahead to the 34. He's sneaky. [41:30] One of the better return guys on his [41:32] team for not exactly having a 4-1 speed. [41:36] He definitely has done a great job. He's [41:38] just smart the way he's running here [41:40] near side. Step around one guy. Okay, I [41:42] got the seam. I'll get about four or [41:43] five more. Just smart tiptoeing yards. [41:46] There's nothing wrong with that. I [41:47] >> I mean this as a compliment. every [41:48] single yard he gets is is the toughest [41:51] yard ever gained. I mean, it's never [41:52] it's never open field running. It's [41:54] always stiff arming somebody. It's [41:56] always running through somebody. [41:58] >> Even Even on the Yeah, exactly. Even on [41:59] the Bloomington Jefferson one, I mean, [42:01] that was go through several people. [42:05] >> That play alone when he was running [42:08] through everyone and listening to the [42:09] Raider fans far side just get into it. [42:12] It was fantastic. Shady gets a hand off [42:15] here and then triple teamed and thrown [42:18] down after a gain of six to the 40 yd [42:20] line. So second down about four long for [42:23] it then. But the Raiders moving the [42:25] football and as we kind of talked about [42:27] chew up some clock have a smart [42:29] methodical drive here and get that [42:31] football to start the second half. [42:34] >> It it definitely could be set up to to [42:36] end this first half advantageously for [42:38] Hastings if they play it right. Raiders [42:41] back out again under center. Hansen [42:44] line moves from left to right with the [42:47] receivers and tight ends. Pitch out [42:49] Shaney. Shady cuts in near side, breaks [42:53] through to midfield, gets the first [42:55] down. That's where he's taken down. So [42:57] Shaney Shanik again moving [43:00] and really kind of in sync with this [43:03] Raider offensive line. They know the [43:05] push that they're giving him. He reads [43:07] that line and he takes those lanes. [43:10] whatever he's given by his guys, he is [43:12] so smart to find that cut back and find [43:14] that lane. And usually it's for 8 to 12 [43:16] yards like he did right there. [43:18] >> Yeah, you know, on the previous drive he [43:20] was getting stuffed a little bit. Now [43:21] you can start to feel him breathe and [43:23] start to get some momentum here behind [43:24] the Raiders line like you were saying. [43:28] >> Hastings [43:30] here. [43:32] Hands off. Shadic thrown down. O [43:37] big men in the middle there. And it [43:39] always has been the case for two rivers [43:41] and this of the which is David Rice [43:44] 6'250. [43:45] He plugged up that hole nowhere for [43:48] Shady to go. As you look right here, you [43:50] run into a couple masses of humanity [43:52] including Sawyer Ralphus. And don't [43:54] forget about him. 510 350 and he is a [43:58] big mama jama. And he plays so well [44:00] along that line for two Rivers. and he [44:03] is one of the toughest D linemen to go [44:07] up against in the league. [44:09] Raiders back out again. Second down and [44:12] 11. [44:14] Back to pass. Hansen rolling right, puts [44:17] it up, has a man and Lundstrom caught [44:21] it, but he was out of bounds. [44:24] He had the reach. He had a little bit of [44:26] everything on everyone in the secondary [44:29] but unfortunately out of bounds as we'll [44:31] watch Hansen kind of roll out right here [44:34] but find his man [44:36] off the fingertips and by the time he [44:39] found possession out of bounds. So third [44:42] down and 11. Tough spot here for [44:45] Hastings to be in right now. Not a lot [44:48] of time has come off the clock here in [44:50] the second quarter. First half 622 to go [44:53] now you're at third and 11. Playbook [44:55] shortens a bit. What do you got ready [44:57] for this spot? Hastings back across [45:00] midfield on the other side. Hansen puts [45:02] it up off Matty Foss as Hansen [45:04] intercepted. Intercepted by Two Rivers [45:07] and Christian Richardson [45:10] and Two Rivers will take over at the 45 [45:12] yd line. Big interception here for the [45:15] road team in a tying game approaching [45:17] halftime. [45:18] >> Yeah, that's that's about worst case [45:20] scenario there for Hastings. Now you got [45:22] the momentum. You turn the ball over [45:24] here. Two Rivers, they were they were [45:26] gashing you on the on the last drive [45:28] here. So again, these inflection points, [45:31] I mean, this is a big one that could go [45:33] in favor of Two Rivers if the Raiders [45:34] defense doesn't get something going [45:36] here. We'll take another look at the [45:37] interception. Seems like he [45:40] >> again, it it was almost the same with [45:41] the pass previous. It was a little too [45:43] high. It was a little too high and that [45:45] resulted in the tip and and the [45:46] interception. [45:47] >> Everything fundamentally looked good. [45:48] Quick drop back, quick release. I mean, [45:50] everything was there. Just a pass a [45:52] little bit high and now Loggererman on [45:54] the jet. He was caught in the back [45:55] field. Broke a tackle. Not the second [45:57] one. Raiders get a man in there. Boy, I [46:00] thought he was going to get loose. [46:02] Instead, Landon Johnson said, "You ain't [46:03] going any further." And that's still a [46:05] tackle for loss. Raiders could have had [46:07] two different tackles for loss. Nice job [46:09] there by the blue and gold guys. Get in [46:11] the back field. [46:12] >> It was either a four-yd loss or a two-yd [46:14] loss. It was It was your choice there. [46:15] And this is exactly what they need. They [46:18] need somebody on the defense to stand on [46:20] their head and make sure that this stays [46:22] a 77 game when this possession is over. [46:24] >> When Bicil gets the back field as a [46:26] linebacker, he is a menace. He is a [46:29] menace. You got to get the ball into [46:30] your hands. You got to find a way to get [46:32] across the line of scrimmage. He is just [46:34] a beast when he gets across that line. [46:36] The Raiders, speaking of beasts, look [46:40] who just joined the party in the middle [46:42] there. That was Gabe Dorham. Oh my [46:44] goodness. He said, "I'm talking about [46:46] plugging up the middle. We'll play some [46:48] physicality, too. And I'm talking 510, [46:51] 260, a senior. And he comes in there, [46:54] plugs that hole. They ain't going [46:56] anywhere. Third and long is the Raider [46:58] defense showing up here to start this [47:00] drive, too. And and you love to see [47:02] that. You love to see the small [47:03] linebacker, the big defensive lineman. [47:05] It's not always necessarily about the [47:06] size. Sometimes it's about the size of [47:08] the dog in the in the in the play there, [47:11] however the the saying goes. Gab's kind [47:13] of like, you know, Jaylen Jaylen Redmond [47:16] for the uh just kind of that undersized [47:19] plugger. And there's a pass out right [47:21] side and it's going to be a first down. [47:23] Great catch pulled down there by William [47:27] Paper. And then he runs over. A couple [47:30] of Raiders and route to a first down. [47:32] So, a couple of drive saving plays here. [47:35] And Paper with a catch and runs his man [47:38] over as he also took him down at the [47:41] same time. Man. Oh man, physicality is [47:45] not even a strong enough word to [47:47] describe what we're seeing on the field [47:48] between these two rivals here in the [47:50] playoffs. [47:52] >> Well, for many reasons, you're you're [47:53] thankful it's a little warmer out here [47:54] cuz you know that would that would be [47:56] very painful if it was 25° like it's [47:59] been in years past. I remember the you [48:01] know the year that we were kind of all [48:03] outside and say the co year you know and [48:07] played late into the season started the [48:08] season late then played into I mean [48:11] there was some like winter feeling [48:13] nights I mean that was not just you know [48:15] fall weather so you know it's not like [48:17] that but still for these kids who've [48:19] been playing in 70 to 80° temps really [48:21] all season it's been beautiful minus the [48:23] Apple Valley game that yeah now you have [48:25] one that the temperature barely hits 50 [48:27] it's been kind of raining on and off [48:28] throughout the day a little bit [48:30] different and we're seeing cramps. [48:32] Obviously, you know, the guys have seen [48:34] coming off the field in pain. We've [48:36] noticed that they've all come back in [48:38] the game because it's been crampage. [48:40] It's been that cold weather, the warm to [48:41] cold stuff that the kids just aren't [48:43] used to yet. So, hopefully they're able [48:45] to find a way to uh kind of sharpen the [48:47] muscles up as they go back in the second [48:49] half and come out fresh because we can [48:51] see how physical this Two Rivers team [48:53] is. Raiders are going to have to find a [48:54] way to equal. It's got to be [48:56] physicality, but you got to find it deep [48:58] down and have that energy to do it. [49:00] >> Well, if there's one thing I've I've [49:02] learned, it's that it could be 90°, it [49:04] could be 20°. Cramping is always going [49:06] to be [49:07] >> something you have to deal with. I mean, [49:08] there's there's never a time where it it [49:10] your a team is not facing it. [49:12] >> Super hot days, super cold days, it [49:14] always seems more pronounced, I guess. [49:18] But yeah, I mean that's something that I [49:20] mean you get landed on wrong, you could [49:22] cramp up and it could be very painful. [49:25] People don't understand if you've never [49:27] been in a scrum like a tackle like that. [49:31] Yeah. Back to pass. Here's Al Deilla as [49:34] he rolls out left. He's going to run it [49:36] left and he has a first down himself and [49:38] he's been able to run that football all [49:40] season long as well. We talked about [49:42] three running backs. We also have one [49:44] whale of a quarterback that can run it. [49:46] Dick Craig saying penalty, penalty, [49:48] penalty. So, we have a penalty somewhere [49:50] on the field. And who is it on? This is [49:53] a big call here. [49:55] Dick Craig says it's on Hastings. [50:01] They're saying a late hit potentially. [50:05] And the Raiders have really [50:07] gotten themselves on some penalties here [50:10] tonight. That's not been the case [50:12] throughout the year. And the Raiders are [50:14] picking a wrong time to let Laundry find [50:17] their way onto the field. [50:19] >> Yeah, you know, there's never a good [50:21] time to shoot yourself in the foot, but [50:23] certainly when they're driving down the [50:24] field the last two drives, getting some [50:26] of these penalties is less than ideal. [50:31] [Music] [50:32] >> Well, penalties, turnovers. It's been [50:34] the story of this particular quarter [50:37] here for Hastings and for Two Rivers for [50:39] that matter. Handoff this time is not [50:42] going TO GO TOO FAR AWAY. Stripping it [50:43] away. [50:45] HASTINGS STRIPS THE FOOTBALL in the red [50:48] zone and I think it's Carter Herman [50:51] O'Brien that pulls it out of there and [50:54] oh my goodness, the running back Jaden [50:57] Kinsel Aerodondo can't believe it but [50:59] believe it. Watch this here. M that is [51:03] exactly what they needed. They're [51:04] driving down the field. They We saw this [51:06] earlier on the on the drive. players [51:09] making plays. Nearly stopped him on that [51:12] third down, but they get the strip [51:13] there. I mean, you had 10 yards to go [51:15] before that that was a touchdown. That's [51:17] exactly what they needed. Did we just [51:19] say we have to be more physical than [51:20] this physical team. That is a physical [51:22] play. That is how you do it. Steal the [51:25] football back and a chance to score [51:27] before halftime and get that football. [51:28] Let's turn this tie to the game again. [51:30] Hand off this time goes to Zack Shadic [51:33] and he'll rumble. Yes, I said it. He [51:35] rumbled that time. physical run by Shady [51:38] is he kind of runs up that seam. He's [51:40] saying, "All right, yeah, I want to get [51:42] into some of this, too." And he's not [51:43] afraid to get contact, take contact, and [51:46] give contact. That's one fun thing about [51:48] Shady that maybe not everybody's seen [51:50] yet so far this year. [51:51] >> Time for a classic 4-minute drive here [51:54] for Hastings. You know, they got plenty [51:56] of time to to run the ball with Shadic. [51:59] >> Handoff from Hansen. Shady reads his [52:01] blocks. Look at just trying to pull him [52:03] down by his jersey and he still drags a [52:05] man for two more yards and then is [52:08] finally taken down. Nice tackle there [52:10] getting in and even having to say a [52:12] little something to Shane there. Axel [52:14] Clem the sophomore but it's a first [52:16] down. Shady will have the last laugh if [52:19] you will on that particular carry. [52:22] >> It's not the first time we've seen him [52:23] tackled by his jersey and and certainly [52:25] won't be the last. I mean, if if you can [52:27] get your hand on them, that that might [52:29] be all you can get at times. [52:30] >> If you haven't seen the the the punt [52:32] return, that's all has to be referred to [52:33] as now, the punt return. Uh he even I [52:36] mean, some tried pretty much pulling him [52:37] down by the pants. I mean, that's that's [52:39] not going to work. He'll run out of him [52:40] and he'll still run in for a touchdown [52:41] as he takes a hand off this time. Gets a [52:43] couple. [52:45] Shane's probably got what Dick 70 maybe [52:50] I would say. I'll ask Dick Craig here in [52:52] a little I know he's going to go on the [52:53] radio here at halftime, but um he's got [52:56] to be 70 80. I mean, and and it seems [52:59] like he quietly rolls up like 200 like [53:01] it's nothing. And we've seen that [53:02] throughout the year, even in losses for [53:05] the Raiders where Shadic has found his [53:08] yards. [53:11] Long count for Hansen will roll out. [53:14] He's got pressure though. Gets the pass [53:16] off. Caught by Lunstrom. Then takes a [53:18] little pounding for all of his hard [53:20] work. gain of three to the 30. [53:23] So third and you know mid. So third [53:26] about five. [53:28] Not a bad spot, but 216 to go here. [53:33] If you don't get it here, you know, [53:34] you're probably going to punt it and [53:35] give it to him with about a minute left. [53:37] So we'll see what Hastings elects to do. [53:39] I'd love to see him get the first down. [53:40] Now Raiders, you got Weber, too, that [53:43] you know, from 25 30 in, he's pretty [53:46] dang good. I mean, you can get in that [53:49] spot there. You can finish with points [53:52] if you can't get a touchdown. [53:54] Under center is Hansen. Single back. [53:57] Shady gets the pitch out left side. [54:00] FINDS A LITTLE ROOM. OH MY. Up and over. [54:03] A big hit there as Shadic goes backside [54:07] over Team Kettle. And it was the battle [54:09] of the running backs again as Jaden [54:11] Kinsel Eridando said a pleasant hello to [54:15] Shaney Shadic and turns him head over [54:18] heels. Oh my. [54:20] >> He's playing playing defense like a [54:21] cruise missile right there. [54:24] >> This game has been [54:27] as physical as I've seen this year. I [54:29] mean really between these two teams. [54:33] I know watching parts of the Mano East [54:37] Hastings game too there there was some [54:39] physicality in that game too but really [54:42] here I mean this is what we've come to [54:45] expect from these two teams and boy are [54:47] we seeing it as the Raiders will let it [54:48] go down to about [54:51] a minute one on the clock and I like we [54:54] talked about before this will likely be [54:57] a punt and then go out there and play [55:00] defense get the football back [55:01] >> well I'm a little perplexed why two [55:03] Rivers wouldn't take a timeout there. [55:05] You let 40 seconds run off the clock. I [55:07] mean, obviously it's fourth and two, so [55:09] you know, they could come out and try to [55:10] surprise surprise you with, you know, [55:13] trying to get a fourth down conversion [55:14] there, but it's a little surprising for [55:16] Two Rivers. I know it's a pass heavy [55:18] offense and they can get these big chunk [55:20] plays, but you know, Arnest, oh man, of [55:23] course, they had to show grit iron right [55:24] in the middle of the brilliant point I [55:25] was making. Now, we got to talk about [55:26] grid iron. [55:28] >> Probably the nicest pirate ship around. [55:30] I mean, I mean, you can't beat that [55:32] thing. We do not know yet if it's [55:34] seaorthy. We we're still working on [55:37] >> finding out if we can take it for a [55:39] pleasant sojourn to start next season [55:42] when it's [55:43] >> What are you doing after the game? [55:44] >> I you know, the chomp on on the [55:47] Mississippi today is a little bit, you [55:49] know, I I I don't over take it out [55:50] today. Back to Punet Ares. Hits the wind [55:54] and then end over end just kind of hangs [55:56] up there and a flag comes in late. [56:03] >> You sure hope that's not against the [56:04] Raiders, [56:04] >> guys. [56:08] >> There's been way too many of these ticky [56:12] tac, you know, little things that, [56:16] you know, stuff that you can help. Coach [56:18] Train always says control the [56:19] controllables. It's one of my favorite [56:21] quotes from Coach Strain. It that's [56:24] something you can control. [56:26] Some sort of kick interference, I guess. [56:29] I mean, we they let him catch it. We're [56:31] going to take a look. And Coach Strain [56:32] is is very [56:36] angry and I don't blame him because they [56:37] let him catch it. Coach Strain is still [56:39] he's he's looking down at the official [56:41] saying, "You got to be kidding me. They [56:42] didn't touch him or anything." and coach [56:44] drain. Oh, and then so what but did they [56:47] give a flag to Lundstrom for touching [56:49] his back? [56:51] >> There's a pat on the back. [56:54] >> Boy, that I don't know. Wow. Okay, back [56:58] to pass. Salt Dilla right throws a [57:00] Burner. [57:03] My goodness, that thing had some [57:04] velocity, but nobody was going to catch [57:06] it, even his receiver. And that time out [57:10] to the right West. Let's take a look [57:12] again. I mean this I don't think anybody [57:14] touched the [57:16] >> No, nobody got involved in [57:19] >> and the play is dead. People are walking [57:20] away. [57:20] >> The play is dead. Lunstrom was avoiding [57:23] him. If they say that's a late hit or [57:26] inner kick interference, I I just can't [57:28] agree with that. And you all are [57:31] watching the same game mailman and I [57:33] are. So it's not like we're just trying [57:34] to float your boat here. I mean that was [57:37] boat down there. Boat. Get it? Sorry. [57:40] >> I see what you did there. Second down. [57:42] Back to Altavilla finally. And Altilla [57:45] is going nowhere. Give Gabe Dorham a [57:48] little piece of that sack. Also some [57:51] Bicel in there. Also had a little bit of [57:54] Braden Thompson in there. So give a [57:56] little bit to everybody if you want to [57:58] on that particular play. [58:00] So third exceptionally long. 40 seconds [58:03] left is [58:06] that was just a pressure sack. I mean [58:07] just perfect perfectly executed call [58:11] first of all and then for the boys to [58:12] execute it as well as the coaches wanted [58:15] it to be in that particular order gave [58:17] Altavilla nowhere to go on what seemed [58:19] to be kind of a drawn up run there as he [58:21] had nowhere to go. [58:23] >> Well, you know, it's in some ways it's [58:25] classic Raiders football. you know, when [58:27] ju just when they need something to [58:28] happen, you know, somebody steps up, [58:30] just when the offense is faltering a [58:32] little bit, just when you're, you know, [58:34] getting some of these penalty, although [58:35] the last one obviously will exclude that [58:37] one, but some of the other preventable [58:38] penalties, you know, the defense kicks [58:40] in and and they're keeping them in the [58:42] game. You know, somebody's somebody's [58:44] standing up and and keeping the Raiders [58:46] in this. [58:47] >> And you got to think that in this type [58:50] of game, too, I mean, the seniors are [58:53] down there leading the attack. I mean [58:54] whether they're on the sidelines, not [58:57] necessarily in the playtoplay part of [58:59] the game, but I mean whether they're [59:01] cheering their teammates on or out there [59:03] executing, those seniors got to drive a [59:05] bus right now cuz the season's on the [59:07] line in this very game. Two receivers [59:09] split out to each side here for two [59:11] Rivers and back to pass is to Villa. [59:14] He's in trouble. He's set and the [59:17] Raiders send pressure and Ayeno the one [59:21] to bring him down. You talk about [59:23] leadership and well there's part of it [59:25] there in our senior leader and if [59:27] anybody's going to bring him down to [59:29] force fourth down why not but why not [59:31] have it be 5. [59:33] >> Perfectly said but I but it's not it's [59:36] not just the season on the line. It's [59:38] the career on the line for the for the [59:39] seniors as well. You know this could be [59:41] the very last game. You know that either [59:43] way you win out there's not too many [59:45] games left. But you know certainly if [59:47] you lose here this could be the last [59:48] game for some of these players and [59:50] they're certainly playing like it. We [59:51] know it is here at home. So for those [59:53] seniors, they know that this crazy wild [59:56] day game kind of a collegiate feel might [59:59] be well foreshadowing what things could [60:01] be for some of these seniors that will [60:03] move on to the next level. Even D3, D2, [60:06] it doesn't matter for some of these kids [60:08] that'll get to play on Saturday [60:09] afternoons, even as quickly as next [60:11] year. It'll be super super special. We [60:14] want to make sure that we tell you folks [60:16] a little bit about saving community [60:18] television because you folks here that [60:20] have watched HCTV and our sports [60:21] coverage for as long as we've done it. [60:23] And I mean back into the 80s, I'm [60:25] talking with more and more people [60:27] cutting cable each day, funding for [60:29] community TV stations is in rapid [60:31] decline. To help to keep help keeping [60:34] these games on the air, we need your [60:36] support. And to learn more about how you [60:38] can get involved, head to save [60:39] communityv.com. [60:41] For more information or consider leaving [60:43] a donation at hastingsv.org/donate [60:48] cuz we love doing what we do, especially [60:51] when we're here on a Saturday afternoon [60:53] in the playoffs at home in front of our [60:54] home crowd, Raiders right now looking [60:57] for the last play of the game to be a [61:00] fruitful one or last play of the half to [61:02] be a fruitful one. And it's going to be [61:04] all Dilla throwing up a little bit of a [61:06] bomb. Hastings gets a hand. Ashton Ares [61:08] gets it over to play to Bicil. And Bicil [61:11] gets an interception at the half. And [61:14] that's how things wrap up. And why not? [61:16] Two rivals that know each other so darn [61:19] well. It's going to end up 77 at half. [61:21] Here's a look at the final play. Alilla, [61:23] man, he's got an arm. But look at that [61:25] play. Arnes flips it on over to Bicil [61:28] for his pick. And boy, the Raider [61:30] defense. I mean, you can't I mean, you [61:32] can say a lot about both sides defense, [61:34] but Raiders coming out here and [61:36] executing and they need to play just [61:37] like that in the second half if they [61:39] want to win this thing in the final, you [61:41] know, 24 minutes of play. [61:43] >> Oh, no question. You know, this is how [61:46] the game had to go as we get to a look [61:47] at some of the scores here. That was the [61:49] first score of the game for Hastings. [61:50] That 24 yd FS touchdown just totally [61:53] took the top off of that Two River [61:55] secondary. [61:55] >> And there's Verdea in the backfield [61:57] after rumbling all over the Raider [61:59] defense. that entire drive. He finishes [62:01] it with a two-yd run. All power all the [62:04] time from 24 and he gets in there and [62:06] boy the Warriors kind of felt it there. [62:09] Hit the extra point. It was 77 and [62:11] that's where we're at. Both teams traded [62:12] the football a couple times in the [62:14] fourth quarter but nothing really coming [62:16] about. That's a lie. It is 77 here on [62:20] HCTV as these two teams again big- time [62:22] rivals know each other so well. And what [62:25] we're going to do is take our playoff [62:26] halftime break. And when we come back, [62:28] we'll have more, including your second [62:30] half kickoff, which will be owned by the [62:32] Hastings Raiders. Your score at [62:33] halftime, seven apiece here on Hastings [62:36] Community Television. [62:50] [Music] [62:52] What a move. What a goal. Oh, what a [62:54] shot. Scores. The Raiders, can they get [62:56] the lift? Yes, they do. [62:59] Just snipes one. [63:01] >> Oh my god. [63:04] And reaching up and making the play. [63:08] >> It's over. [63:10] >> Looking to throw and she's going to get [63:11] the first down. [63:12] >> Gone. Touchdown Raiders. [63:16] [Applause] [63:23] that trash that way, not this way. Come [63:25] out. [63:25] >> Oh, hey there. Do you like HCTV? [63:29] >> That's one small step for Hastings and [63:32] one giant leap for Community Television. [64:21] We went from high to [64:25] >> I know you're all excited about Y2K. You [64:26] get power like in 1999 [64:30] High School. [64:46] Funding for Community TV is in rapid [64:48] decline and HCTV will not survive [64:52] without your help. Let your local [64:55] representatives know that you support [64:57] community TV. To learn more, visit safe [65:00] communityv.com. [65:11] >> We were talking a little bit at [65:12] halftime. You know, it's it's kind of [65:14] interesting because for for all that [65:15] went well in the first half, for all [65:17] that went wrong in the first half for [65:18] both teams, both teams still have to [65:20] feel like they're in a pretty good [65:22] position here. Certainly the Raiders cuz [65:25] they're getting the the the kickoff [65:26] here, but I mean, both teams got to feel [65:28] like they're really in this one and that [65:30] with just a few adjustments that they [65:32] they could end up on top in this game. [65:34] >> I think the Raiders right away want to [65:36] put together a good drive. I mean, we [65:40] we've seen a couple, you know, each way. [65:42] I I think that both coaches will find [65:46] some good on the tape when it comes to [65:48] the first half, but more or less a [65:50] couple that stalled or fell apart or [65:52] ended on an interception or penalties [65:54] might have hauled them out. We got to [65:56] sharpen up some of that stuff as Birkin [65:57] will take the kickoff return at the 16 [66:00] to the 20 to the 25 and then there goes [66:02] a flag and Burkin gets into open space [66:05] 45 midfield and he's probably coming [66:07] back anyway. And the Two Rivers Warriors [66:10] are saying that it's against Hastings. [66:14] So, we'll see. We see what this is. It's [66:17] going to be a holding call and Hastings [66:19] will start from deep inside their [66:21] territory. So, if they want to score, [66:23] they're probably going to have to have a [66:25] pretty long drive unless we get one [66:26] loose here. But not the way the Raiders [66:28] wanted to start their offensive drive [66:30] after Burkin got out near midfield. [66:33] >> No. And especially after they were so [66:35] hankered with penalties in the in the [66:37] first half. I mean, it is it is [66:39] interesting how he Burkin just seems to [66:41] be a magnet for kickoffs. I mean, every [66:43] he's getting more kick returns than [66:44] Shadic than anybody who's who's proper [66:47] back there. They're trying to stay away [66:49] from Sheny as much as possible because [66:52] they know that a little bit of open [66:54] space even on the kickoff, if his eyes [66:56] can see up the entire field, he could be [66:59] gone in an instant. He'll be the single [67:01] set back off the far side hash for [67:03] Hastings. Left to right on your TV [67:05] screen and Sheney carries the ball [67:08] forward and will gain about three. [67:14] >> It seems like this this is probably a [67:16] good time in the game for Shadock to go [67:18] full Shady. I mean, if he could if he [67:20] could pull off a an 85 yd touchdown run [67:23] here, I mean, this this would be very [67:25] beneficial to the Hastings prospects. [67:27] So, haven't said Elliott Hagen's name [67:29] yet. He's been involved on and off quite [67:32] a bit in the Raider offensive lineup. [67:35] He'll line up as a wide receiver here in [67:38] that tight formation as the line [67:40] entirely seemingly moving from the far [67:43] side of the field to the near. And they [67:45] read that out well as Shaney finds just [67:47] a little seam and he'll gain a couple as [67:50] they are really holding Shaney Shadakin [67:53] pretty well in check compared to any [67:55] other team that we've seen so far this [67:57] year. [67:57] >> Well, I think that's a great thing [67:59] there. You see Hagen with the block 36. [68:01] I think it's interesting you mentioned [68:02] Hagen because at at least a couple of [68:04] times a game, a handful of times a game [68:06] they run that sort of, you know, off [68:08] motion play with Heagen. I wonder if [68:10] they couldn't burn two rivers with that [68:12] play cuz it's it's been Hans in with the [68:14] roll out. It's been it's been shadic, [68:16] you know. You wonder if they're maybe [68:17] holding on to that. [68:18] >> Seen Lundstrom open a couple of times [68:21] for some good catches. He had one air [68:22] mailed on him, too. Could have had a [68:24] third. Here's a little bit of a double [68:26] reverse. This is going [68:29] to be too cute. Chainy to Hagen to the [68:32] five. But this is a little sign of what [68:36] we might have saw 5 10 years ago going, [68:38] "Oh no, what what is this?" And that was [68:41] not the time and the place for that [68:43] particular play to come out of the mill [68:45] for [68:46] >> Well, it's just a puzzling play because [68:47] the problem with the the Raiders offense [68:50] here is that Two Rivers defensive line [68:52] is getting so far in the backfield, [68:53] Shady doesn't have any room to go. So [68:55] when your when your backfield is getting [68:57] penetrated like that by two Rivers [68:59] running a cute play like that doesn't [69:01] really make a ton of sense. [69:04] >> Arnest back on the top of the S [69:08] and he boots it away. Still gets a [69:11] decent one out of there. It's still [69:12] going to be a short field. This one will [69:14] be returned off the far side. Not for [69:16] much by Cole Alto Villa. So maybe best [69:19] case scenario considering where the [69:21] Raiders went back to and where they [69:23] started after the initial flag to open [69:25] the drive on the return. That was a uh [69:28] well a drive from you knowhere for the [69:30] Raiders. Hopefully none of that shows up [69:32] anymore tonight. [69:33] >> Yeah. Well, you can always count on [69:35] Arnes to to get off a good punter. That [69:37] is the silver lining. He quietly is one [69:39] of the better punters uh out there in in [69:42] the league. But yeah, that is not how [69:45] you want to start the uh the third [69:46] quarter here if you're Hastings. [69:47] >> I am hoping that young man gets at least [69:49] a shot to do it at the next level. And [69:52] here is Alt Villa PULLING DOWN DESIGN [69:54] RUN AND HE DROPS a shoulder into one of [69:58] the Raiders far side as Landon Johnson [70:00] got the worst of that. And the [70:02] quarterback Alto Villa showing some [70:04] toughness here as he rumbles out right [70:07] side darting out and absolutely [70:09] hammering it down on Landon Johnson for [70:12] a first down. And boy, I'll tell you [70:14] what, this has been a whole different [70:16] Two Rivers offense from the second [70:19] quarter onward. [70:21] >> Yeah, you know, when you think of Alta [70:22] Villi, you think, you know, excellent [70:24] arm, he's surprisingly fast, but don't [70:26] forget the the willingness to initiate [70:28] contact like we saw there. Two receivers [70:31] split out to the left side including [70:32] Loggererman in the slot. Handoff goes to [70:36] Verdea and he'll get about four right [70:40] side hash. [70:43] Raiders had many in including Borman who [70:46] then pushed him out of there. I mean it [70:49] looked like maybe a couple extra words [70:50] Via was giving to the Raider posi that [70:53] brought him down and Borman to get out [70:56] of here. Second down on five and a half [71:00] here. [71:03] >> It has been a quietly chippy game [71:04] between these these two sides. You can [71:06] tell it mean it means a lot. [71:08] >> Audible [71:10] looked over to the receivers's left [71:12] side. Pulls it down. He's going to run. [71:14] Flag comes in. I don't think he got the [71:17] first down regardless, but I think this [71:19] is a hold anyway. [71:21] So, the Raiders might get a break this [71:23] time in putting two rivers backwards. A [71:29] lot of penalties in this game today. [71:32] The holding call will move it back from [71:35] the spot. [71:38] >> Seventh penalty of the game. [71:42] Has not been a pretty game by any means. [71:46] penalty-wise. [71:48] [Applause] [71:50] And now you look at the Two Rivers [71:53] offense here with some of those big [71:56] fellas on that line. And the Raider [71:57] defense has done such a good job up [72:00] front here today. Hopefully they can [72:03] continue here. Second and long. Ball at [72:06] the 34 of the Raiders. Split a pass out [72:09] far side and that's Oh my goodness. [72:14] nearly intercepted [72:17] looking for West and my goodness the [72:19] Raiders could have turned this game on [72:22] its head. Let's take a peek as Alta [72:24] Villa kind of a wobbling pass off the [72:26] fingertips took a hop and there was Bil [72:29] with feel the plenty. That would have [72:32] been fun. [72:32] >> I was wondering how the ball from the [72:34] from how we were looking at it, it [72:36] looked like an optical illusion how the [72:38] ball ended up in his hands. I think we [72:40] all in the press box thought maybe it [72:42] was an interception just with the way we [72:44] were able to not see the whole end of [72:47] the play. Third down and long ball at [72:50] the Raider 34 back to P. Oh, he's going [72:52] to TAKE AND RUN. AL Villa misses the [72:55] first tackler and then carries half a [72:57] posi down for fourth down but that's [73:00] going to be fourth and about five or so. [73:04] You know, they're probably going for [73:06] this here. So the big play for coach or [73:10] there was just to get yards and then [73:12] either get close enough that you can [73:14] boot one, but that's not going to [73:16] happen. They're going to have a fourth [73:18] and manageable here. So this is a big [73:20] spot for the Raider D. You got to spot a [73:22] stop here and keep flexing that muscle. [73:25] There've been a lot of bending but not [73:26] breaking today for Hastings. This is a [73:28] great opportunity to continue that [73:30] track. [73:30] >> That's why you can't celebrate the third [73:32] down stop when they're going for it on [73:33] on fourth here. This would make up for [73:35] that initial drive they had if they can [73:37] stop him here and keep points off the [73:38] board. [73:39] >> Alto Villain near Hash back to pass [73:41] quickly and completes. Rainers will turn [73:44] over on Downs and it's Sheny Janick in [73:47] coverage trying to go at Sheny on fourth [73:52] down and Shaney says I don't think so. [73:56] And it's Shady here in Hastings today. [74:00] And not the way you'd be thinking by [74:03] running the ball up and down the field, [74:05] although he's done a good job of that. [74:06] He's made a couple defensive plays and [74:08] limited snaps and some big ones at that, [74:10] including another on fourth down. He's [74:11] done that a couple times this year. I [74:13] keep turning the light on on everybody [74:15] because I get too excited. Sorry, I'm [74:17] I'm the wrong guy to have on on this [74:19] side of the press box today. [74:22] Here is the handoff Shadock. and a lot [74:25] of that, you know, running you're seeing [74:28] just kind of tough yards. I like it. I [74:31] mean, I Shady showing that he's more [74:33] than that finesse back. He's willing to [74:35] get dirty, willing to to instigate the [74:38] contact and he's kind of winning these [74:39] battles with a very physical front. And [74:42] I think they might need that. They might [74:43] need a an 8minute drive here or [74:45] something cuz they're not getting it [74:46] done with acute plays. They're not [74:48] getting it done passing. It might have [74:49] to be Shadock running the ball eight, [74:51] nine times in a drive. Just moving, get [74:53] keeping ahead of the chains has been a [74:55] big problem for Hastings here tonight. [74:57] >> Hansen hands off. Shadic bounces off a [75:00] man, trips over another, gets out near [75:01] the 30, gains a couple. Third and fairly [75:04] short [75:07] here for [75:10] the Raiders. And again, we want to keep [75:12] the ball here if you're Hastings. I [75:13] mean, their defense has been out here [75:15] just a little bit too long. You'd like [75:18] to see them get a little bit of a break [75:20] here. So, I mean, really, you just you [75:22] need a couple of first downs here to [75:24] string together to give your guys a [75:26] breather as Two Rivers took some time [75:30] off the clock. The pretty good drive [75:31] that ended in nothing because of the [75:33] Raider D. And here's Shady again. Just [75:35] nothing. [75:37] Shadic is being absolutely [75:40] chewed up and spit out. Well, and and [75:42] this is what you're talking about with [75:44] the defense, too. I totally agree. you [75:46] know, the defense is standing on their [75:47] head, but if you keep withdrawing from [75:49] the bank, eventually you're going to hit [75:51] negative. You know, you don't want to [75:52] ask your defense to do too much because [75:54] eventually eventually, you know, they've [75:56] been doing doing a good job pending. [75:57] Eventually, they just will break. They [75:59] will get tired. [76:01] >> You don't want to ask too much of them [76:02] and they might be they might be doing [76:03] that here on this next drive. [76:09] Back in punt formation [76:12] at the 16 is Ares [76:15] >> and the left footed booter. Nice kick. [76:18] Wobbler near side. Doesn't give him much [76:20] room to return it. Nice job by Ashton [76:22] Ares again as this one returned for [76:27] minimal yardage by the other of the Alta [76:30] boys. That's Cole Altilla. [76:33] And now two Rivers back out. The Raider [76:36] defense going to be asked to do another [76:37] job after doing many jobs here tonight [76:39] only allowing the seven points and that [76:42] came in the second quarter. The really [76:44] first nice drive of the game for Two [76:46] Rivers. They've had a couple I mean both [76:49] teams have had them stall out. [76:52] Both teams, you know, the one that [76:53] Hastings stalled out on. Maybe should [76:55] have punted that one. Try to get it down [76:56] inside the five or something. Let that [76:58] defense eat. [77:00] >> But we can look back at it all we want [77:03] to. can't redo it. Now a 7-7 game here [77:07] third quarter with 546 to go and rolling [77:12] out to his right and the pass is going [77:15] to be complete I think. My goodness. [77:18] Pass caught by Lonnie West. Going to [77:21] kind of lay out to make the grab. We'll [77:23] take a peek at this one again cuz this [77:25] was a beautiful catch out to the right [77:27] side. [77:29] Yeah, they these receivers for Two [77:31] Rivers have done such a good job of [77:33] route running and getting open, [77:34] especially on these curls, especially on [77:36] these outs. I mean, the you got to [77:37] credit the timing with Alta Villa, but [77:39] the route running as well is is [77:41] impressive. [77:44] >> They'll split two wide to the left, far [77:47] side of the field, lining up right half [77:50] short side front of the bench of Two [77:51] Rivers. The Warriors with it. Fla will [77:53] take it and he'll jump across midfield. [77:56] gain about five [77:59] spotted around the 49 of Hastings. So [78:01] across midfield again [78:04] and we've seen this a little bit from [78:05] Two Rivers here from the second through [78:07] the third quarters, you know, being able [78:09] to chew it between the 20s a little bit. [78:11] They've been able to move the football [78:12] between the 20s and they continue to do [78:15] that here on this very drive down at the [78:17] 49 of Hastings across midfield. It's [78:19] second down. Caught five yds to go. Ball [78:22] at the 49 of the blue and gold. Two [78:24] Rivers on the road sends two guys in [78:26] motion to the far side of the line. Off [78:27] right now lining up as a wing back has a [78:30] hand off to Flancha off right. He'll [78:32] find a little bit of room. He'll find [78:33] more than a little bit of room. Gets a [78:35] seam. Gets out first down across the 45 [78:37] to about the 43 yd line. That'll move [78:39] the chains for Two Rivers. [78:44] He's got so much speed going to the [78:46] sidelines there in such a a short amount [78:48] of distance there. I mean the these two [78:51] Rivers running backs. I mean whether [78:54] it's uh Venda or or whoever I mean they [78:56] are not afraid to to really try to lay [78:58] down the the law. [79:00] >> You got kind of an Elvin Kabara type of [79:02] guy in in Flanch and you got a bowling [79:04] ball like Scataboo with you know the guy [79:07] in Verdeo who's been just fun to watch. [79:10] Here's the a big long drop here for [79:14] Altavilla puts it up and nearly [79:15] intercepted by Carter Herman O'Brien [79:17] again. He put that into nowhere but blue [79:20] and gold territory. And boy, this place [79:23] would have went absolutely ballistic. [79:25] You would have heard us in Redwing. [79:27] Dropped the fingertips. Second down. [79:29] That would have been a big play for the [79:31] Raiders. But opportunistic again, that [79:32] Raiders secondary. [79:35] >> Yeah, that would have been that would [79:36] have been big right there. That would [79:37] have been clutch if they could just [79:38] halted this drive here cuz like you've [79:40] been saying, they they they have been [79:41] moving in the middle of the field, but [79:43] as as the defense compresses, they've [79:44] been stopping them. You just hope that [79:46] holds up as the game goes on for [79:47] Hastings. [79:48] >> Second 10 out of the gun again. Hand off [79:50] this time for Deill. won't get much at [79:52] all. He'll gain maybe a yard if he's [79:53] lucky. Second down about nine or third [79:56] down about nine for Two Rivers working [79:59] that right hash in front of their own [80:00] bench here as we hit near the 4minute to [80:04] go mark here. Third quarter. Glad you're [80:05] with us on a Saturday afternoon. Cloudy, [80:07] overcast day. Rain not existent anymore [80:10] after kind of a drizzly, dreary start. [80:12] Clouds still out. Lights are on here at [80:14] Todd Field, but about a 50°ree day. Not [80:16] bad for fall and the playoffs here when [80:18] you're talking high school football. And [80:20] right now a 7-7 game with the Raiders [80:22] and two Rivers. Two rivals meeting up [80:24] here in the playoffs. Out of the gun, [80:27] third down, nine yds to go off the right [80:29] side. Hash Alto Villa barking out the [80:31] calls. One receiver on to the right, [80:32] three to the left side. We have motion. [80:35] This is going to be a false start [80:36] against the Two Rivers Warriors. That'll [80:38] move back even further. Make it even [80:40] that much tougher here. And this might [80:41] even put him back in a bunt spot. If he [80:43] can get the stop here and force a fourth [80:45] down, he might be actually looking to [80:47] get that football back. [80:50] That's a big penalty. [80:51] >> That's a big one right there. Especially [80:53] when they've been so willing to I don't [80:55] want to say not go for the first down, [80:57] but you know, willing to get chunk plays [80:58] to set up an easier fourth down. [81:02] Any five yardds you can get is is going [81:04] to be a benefit here for Hastings and [81:06] especially the guys in the secondary who [81:07] got to feel like, well, now they're now [81:09] they're sort of forced to pass and and [81:11] we've seen plenty of interceptions [81:13] tonight here for the Raiders defense. [81:14] Plenty of almost interceptions as well. [81:16] on third on fourth uh third down here. [81:18] You might want to spy the quarterback. [81:19] They ran on third and long last time in [81:21] this very spot in the field. We'll see [81:22] what they do here this time. A quick [81:24] pass out to Loggererman. Loggerman at [81:26] the 42 to the 40 down to about 38. [81:28] That'll be a shorter fourth down play [81:30] calling about fourth and seven here now [81:33] as Loggerman makes his impact known here [81:35] tonight. Not too much here for the young [81:37] man, but he uh makes a big play here [81:40] that at least sets up that shorter [81:41] fourth down. So maybe not a run this [81:42] time, but again, just trying to chew up [81:44] yards and kind of get a little closer [81:46] here for a fourth down play. [81:49] >> Yeah, exactly like you said. I mean, [81:50] they're they're very strategic when [81:52] they're when they're setting this this [81:53] up. And again, you're in, you know, [81:55] you're in no man's land. Any anytime [81:57] you're in between the 20 and the and the [82:00] 50 at the high school level, it [82:02] certainly feels like you're uh you're [82:03] kind of trapped in between both. [82:05] >> 62 62 255 lb or 215 lb Maze Carpenter, [82:09] tight end, junior. chimes in here into [82:11] the ball game as Alta Villa is forced [82:14] out of the pocket, throws it up and that [82:17] will be incomplete. [82:20] Raiders will take the football back on a [82:22] fourth down play and it looked like the [82:24] play was exactly the way Alville wanted [82:26] it to run, but I don't think he saw the [82:28] safety help coming over the top and he [82:30] realized he was in a lot more trouble [82:32] with the two men from the Raiders also [82:33] creeping in. And a great job by Carter [82:36] Herman O'Brien to get over from that top [82:38] and Ares from the side to really take [82:40] anything away. All the angles were taken [82:42] away. And we talked and joked about [82:43] geometry earlier. Well, that was a great [82:45] geometric play by the Raider Dbacks to [82:48] converge and force that out out of [82:49] bounds. [82:50] >> They're they're paying attention in math [82:51] class. That's for sure. And a good job [82:53] from Arnest, too, to not run into the [82:54] receiver changing your coverage cuz [82:56] certainly, you know, we need we know the [82:58] refs have been very visible this game. [83:00] Hansen, beautiful roll out, but he [83:02] throws it into triple coverage. And I [83:04] don't think that play was there right in [83:06] that particular spot. They also had [83:08] Hagen going deep as well, trying to [83:11] stretch the field a little bit. Raiders [83:14] need to do that. They haven't completed [83:15] many passes here since the first half [83:18] and need to do so to free up Shadock a [83:20] little bit more. He has found running a [83:22] lot tougher here in the second half as [83:24] opposed to the first. Dick, how many [83:26] yards did Shadic have about in that [83:28] first yard or [83:30] first half? 77 first half yards though [83:33] for Shadic on the ground [83:36] and sledding as we said a little. Uh-oh. [83:38] Fumble and Hansen jumps on it. That'll [83:41] kill it down here. Now we're looking at [83:43] third and long. [83:45] Some wacky things happening here for the [83:48] Raiders in this second half and things [83:50] that this 1999 Raider grad aren't very [83:53] excited about. [83:55] Well, you know, this like I said [83:57] earlier, you know, they got to stay [83:58] ahead of the chains. You have that [83:59] incomplete pass. You have a botch snap [84:01] there. Now you're now you're really [84:03] against the wall here. You really, you [84:04] know, the drives are going to come at a [84:06] premium here as we reach the end of this [84:07] game. And you hate to see a drive wasted [84:09] here if they can't get a a first down. [84:12] >> Raiders go out of the gun. More [84:14] traditional style here. Two receivers [84:16] left, one to the right. Raiders spread [84:18] it out and Hansen's pass is over the [84:20] middle. Caught by Foss. This is fourth [84:22] down. And it's going to be a little bit [84:23] short. And I mean a little bit short, [84:25] folks. Boy, I'm telling you right now, [84:28] this is about fourth and inches. I would [84:30] go for this. You have a quarterback who [84:32] can slip through there. Although, oh my [84:34] goodness. It's hard to say that when you [84:35] got dackles that weigh almost 300 lb. Oh [84:39] boy. What do you do here, Mailman? [84:40] That's spots off. [84:41] >> You Yeah, I agree. Well, you you have [84:44] >> Oh, first down. That's a great spot. [84:48] >> Amazing spot. [84:49] >> All right. Well, the white hat comes in. [84:52] He overrules the black hat. He says, [84:55] "Ah, man." [84:57] >> We'll take another look. In in all [84:59] honesty, I think he was short. I I don't [85:01] think he got the first down there. [85:03] >> That's a great spot. [85:04] >> His feet got the first down, [85:06] >> but you know, [85:08] >> no chance to review. Hunter has already [85:10] moved on with the play. And here we go. [85:12] First down. Shane Dill. Jeez, he gets [85:15] hit at the line and thrown back. [85:19] Well, hey, you really got to credit this [85:22] front from Two Rivers tonight as they're [85:25] taking one of the best, if not the best, [85:27] running back in the state and making him [85:30] look a little more regular. But, [85:34] you know, 26 wants to battle. [85:36] >> Yeah. Well, I'm a little surprised they [85:38] don't try to get him on some screens. [85:39] You know, we've seen a screen game be a [85:41] part of this Raiders offense all season, [85:42] and it seems like they're not having a [85:44] lot of luck going up the middle. He's so [85:46] good in space. You'd love to see them [85:48] utilize some some screens here. [85:50] >> So much size on that Dline. My goodness. [85:53] Here's Shaney. Finds a seam this time. [85:55] Rumbles ahead. More tough yards. Gain of [85:58] eight. That's a pretty run again. [86:02] Gritty. It's It's not the flashy stuff [86:04] today. He is running hard against a very [86:08] tough front. And right there, that first [86:10] burst through, eventually he gets held [86:13] down by Ethan Salis and hangs on for [86:15] dear life to take him down. That's what [86:17] we need. Seven, eight yardds a carry. I [86:19] mean, I'm not saying I'm asking a lot [86:22] considering what we might have had [86:24] happen previous years, but need some big [86:26] carries if you're going to run it. [86:29] Stretch the field. Third down and two. [86:31] Fake the a pitch. Nice handoff inside. [86:34] Let's run the trap to Grant Berkin. When [86:37] you need tough yards, give it to your [86:39] captain. Let him do it. Grant Perkin [86:42] just [86:44] not your prototype. He looks like a wide [86:46] receiver carrying the football, but man, [86:48] just those high steps. He finds those [86:51] little seams and then just gets enough. [86:54] Gets enough. Gets enough every time he [86:57] has the football. [86:58] >> It It's hard to think of Berkin as a [86:59] running back or a wide receiver. You got [87:01] to think of him as as a football player [87:03] cuz he does he just does everything. [87:04] He's just a football player. all three [87:06] phases. [87:07] >> Still think he can really help a team at [87:09] the next level. Here's Shadic. HE BREAKS [87:12] A TACKLE. HE GETS INTO SPACE tackle from [87:15] behind and one of his longest runs of [87:18] the game. It's for a first down. He [87:20] gained nearly 20 yards. So Shady as we [87:23] hit the end or close to the end of this [87:25] third quarter, maybe his best run of the [87:27] game over 100 yards now is the junior [87:30] back from the Raiders, Shady Shadic. [87:33] >> Well, success begins success. And you're [87:35] starting to see that for this Raiders [87:36] offense. [87:37] >> All right, boys. Got to finish. Blue and [87:38] gold fellas have football near in the [87:40] red zone. We'll have that coming up to [87:42] start the fourth quarter in just a [87:44] moment. This is playoff football on [87:47] Hastings Community Television. [88:07] [Music] [88:13] Hey, [88:16] [Music] [88:22] hey, hey, hey, hey, [88:27] [Music] [88:38] on HCTV. Nick Tucker alongside the [88:40] mailman Owen Neely. Raiders 77 with Two [88:43] Rivers starting the fourth quarter. [88:44] These two rivals here in the playoff [88:46] semifinals in section 358. [88:50] Overcast skies continue. Rain staying [88:52] away. Here's Shady and he will back into [88:54] the line and then literally push his way [88:56] for another couple extra yards. [89:00] >> Shady really running tough tonight. I [89:02] mean this has been a total different [89:05] style but boy he is again over 100 yards [89:08] tonight doing his job. [89:11] >> Yeah, you got to credit him. I mean like [89:12] we say with with Burkin it's it's true [89:14] with Shadic here tonight. I mean there [89:16] has not been a single easy yard for him. [89:18] You know sometimes he's just so [89:20] talented. we've seen throughout the the [89:21] the year. He can get easy yards. He can [89:23] get hard yards too, but he gets a lot of [89:25] easy yards cuz he's so talented. But [89:26] tonight, it has been difficult and he's [89:28] really stood up to the task [89:30] >> as we would expect in a playoff game. [89:33] This time, Berkin, not much there and [89:36] he's for a loss as well. So, not exactly [89:38] the way we wanted it to go here for [89:41] Raider Nation, but boy, if you're two [89:43] Rivers, you got to be excited about the [89:45] way your defense is playing for a 30 in [89:46] all game. See Berken right there just [89:49] didn't have enough room and great [89:51] outside pursuit. [89:53] >> Finished in a big tackle. [89:57] >> And again, the Raiders might find [89:59] themselves in a in an interesting [90:01] position here if they can get a few [90:02] yards. I mean, you're you're slowly [90:04] getting into field goal range. [90:07] It is a tie game, but even for Wendy, if [90:10] he can get it close, not a lot of wind. [90:13] Back to pass. HANSEN ON THE RUN. HANSEL [90:15] MAN OPEN. IT'S FOSS FIRST DOWN Hastings [90:20] caught and it above the 11 yd line and [90:22] that's perfect gain of about 12 and [90:25] that's a first down Raiders in the red [90:27] zone and you got to like that [90:29] >> and H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H [90:30] H H Hansen couldn't lose. We we he [90:32] either completes the pass to Fost or I [90:34] think he could have taken that with his [90:35] legs and got the first down as well. Not [90:37] that we've seen him run too much, but I [90:38] think I think that was a win-win [90:40] situation for Hansen and he made the he [90:42] made the right choice. He has just [90:44] enough speed to be very dangerous. [90:48] Elusive you could say. [90:52] And here is Hansen again under center. [90:54] He will hand off TO SHENI. LEFT SIDE HAS [90:58] ROOM. TOUCHDOWN HASTINGS. [91:02] YES. [91:04] Got that ball across the line and the [91:06] Raiders in from 11. Shady Shadic. his [91:10] first of the game and the Raiders take [91:12] the lean back. It's 13-7. [91:16] >> And that's that's exactly what the [91:18] Raiders have been chasing since that [91:19] first touchdown in the first quarter. [91:21] Just trying to put any points on the [91:22] board and whether it's penalties, [91:24] whether it's, you know, maybe incorrect [91:26] play calling or or just good defense [91:28] from Two Rivers. I mean, it's taken [91:30] almost three quarters, but they finally [91:32] get on the boards here and get the uh [91:34] get the lead. 11 plays, 63 yardds, and [91:38] it ends with Weber putting it through [91:41] for the extra point kick that is good. [91:44] And Hastings, they have the lead back. [91:47] It's 147 here against their rivals in [91:50] the playoffs. And you take a look again, [91:52] Sheney finally found that edge. The [91:55] rest, he did it himself. Reaches that [91:57] ball over. He had enough room. He gets [92:00] in. And again, that athleticism, but [92:02] speed kills, buddy. And you saw him go [92:04] into overdrive. [92:06] >> Well, they call him shady and he's and [92:08] he's so good at being shifty behind the [92:10] line, but he really excels when he can [92:12] get around the edge. And there has not [92:14] been an edge to get around tonight [92:15] against Two Rivers. That was probably [92:16] the first time all night where there was [92:18] an edge where he was capable of using [92:20] his speed to get around. And obviously, [92:22] you see the result there. Shannock, a [92:24] big touchdown, gets patted on the back [92:26] by an injured Marlo Strain. Got a chance [92:29] to see that young man after our last [92:31] home game. And uh you know even though [92:34] he he's injured, he gets it. The whole [92:36] thing, he knows that there's good that's [92:38] going to come out of it. He's going to [92:40] be just fine eventually. Is this on side [92:42] kind of a kick just a high poocher [92:44] that'll be taken out the far side out of [92:46] play by one of the upbacks and I believe [92:49] that should be 41. And that would be [92:50] Deacon Staples. So the Two Rivers [92:55] Warriors will start ball around the 35. [93:00] own Raiders up 14-7 section 34A playoffs [93:03] fourth quarter overcast it feels like [93:06] it's kind of getting brighter a little [93:08] bit brighter throughout the day I mean [93:09] it's been so gloomy yucky kind of look [93:12] out to the west southwest you see a [93:14] little bit of those whiter clouds that I [93:16] think the sun might sneak out here [93:19] before too long [93:24] out of the shotgun [93:26] here's all Villa he will hand off to [93:29] Plancha. The little guy finds room. [93:32] Breaks a tackle. First down. Gets across [93:34] the 45 down to the 47. That's enough to [93:36] move the chains. Another nice run. And [93:39] again, Fla Dominion tip, but has speed. [93:41] And boy, again, we're not that big. You [93:44] have those smaller seams. You threw [93:46] those seams right there. What a nice [93:48] break of the tackle gets through before [93:50] he meets up with fellow number 14, [93:53] Landon Johnson, who took care of [93:54] business. [93:55] >> Yeah, sometimes there's a benefit to to [93:57] being a little smaller. Yeah, you fit in [93:59] the in the cracks there. Well, you just [94:01] hope the Raiders defense has enough gas [94:03] in the tank here to stop them. They've [94:04] been excellent for the last handful of [94:06] quarters and and now that the offense [94:08] got some points on the board, you hope [94:10] that they can still stand tall here. [94:12] Flanch on the carry left side, gains [94:16] four, maybe five. Looks more into the [94:19] ladder. [94:21] 14-7 Hastings. Clock ticking. 9/11 to go [94:24] in regulation. The reason I say [94:27] regulation and not the game is because [94:29] these two teams have played more [94:30] overtime games in their existence than I [94:33] think teams I mean you look back at so [94:37] many times where these two teams have [94:38] gone into 10 10 games into overtime 144 [94:43] it's always seemed low scoring because [94:44] these two teams know so much about one [94:46] another and here is Alta Villa and we're [94:49] going to have a motion penalty the [94:51] running back left before the snap even [94:53] got to the quarterback so we're going to [94:54] go ahead and move back to Rivers. The [94:58] number three seated Warriors [95:00] and the two-seated Raiders will advance [95:03] back into [95:05] further into [95:07] Two Rivers territory again. [95:10] >> Well, I'll say if if we do head to [95:12] overtime, I'm going to place that [95:13] announcers jinx squarely on you there. [95:16] It's [95:16] >> just that it happens all the time and [95:17] I've been part of them anyway. So, I [95:18] feel like I am the Jinx. I am already [95:21] the Jinx. And too many of those games [95:25] Loggererman splits out wide to the [95:27] right, one to the far left side. That's [95:29] Lonnie West. Also a tight end in the mix [95:31] off right. Here's a handoff for Dana. [95:33] Gets across midfield. Rumbles ahead. [95:35] Gets near a first down. [95:38] Going to be a yard short. [95:41] So gain of about nine. [95:46] So third down and about a yard in a big [95:49] spot again for the Raiders. Boy, I'll [95:50] tell you what, you can get a tackle for [95:52] loss here. You really forced some [95:54] serious decision time for coaches [95:57] Orth and Carpenter. [96:04] And they'll come out of the shotgun [96:05] pistol formation. Two receivers off left [96:08] side including Scheler who's been fairly [96:11] quiet today so far. High snap and oh, he [96:15] pulls it down. Runs right. First down. [96:20] Initial penetration. had they brought [96:22] him down in the back field. That would [96:24] have been a big tackle for Loss. [96:26] Instead, it evolves somehow into a first [96:30] down run. And boy, great awareness by [96:34] Duml to Villa. I mean, that was not an [96:36] easy play to get that high snap and [96:39] break through there as you saw in the [96:40] replay. Just smarts at the quarterback [96:43] position. And now again, one to the [96:45] right, two, two to the right, one to the [96:47] left. And the one to the left again is [96:49] Scheler who like we said has been [96:53] noticeably quiet. Jet sweep. They're [96:56] going to hand it off left and nothing [96:58] there for Cole Alavilla. [97:00] He might have gotten back to the line if [97:02] he's lucky. Second down, 10 again. And [97:06] we'll take a peek here as that just [97:07] didn't have much to go on right away. [97:10] And the Raiders noticed that. You saw [97:12] the tackler and Carter Herman O'Brien [97:14] before the play tapping on his helmet. [97:16] He already kind of knew what was [97:17] happening there. He set up the play and [97:20] made the solo tackle. That's not easy in [97:23] space. You got to give a lot of credit [97:24] there to Carter Herman O'Brien on that [97:27] stop. [97:28] >> No, these defensive backs for Hastings, [97:30] they've always been great tacklers, [97:32] great gang tacklers, great open field [97:34] tacklers, and he had hawk vision the [97:35] entire time watching Altilla on that [97:38] sweep. [97:38] >> Altilla to pass. Right side runs, pulls [97:41] it down, will take off. He'll gain A [97:44] COUPLE. BOOM. COMES OUT AND HASTINGS I [97:47] THINK IS ON IT. Ball still loose. I [97:50] don't know. Raiders got it. Borman says [97:52] flag on the play. There's all sorts of [97:54] carnage out here on the field. What is [97:56] going on? Raiders say they have it. I [97:58] haven't seen an official point anyway. [98:00] Anyhow, point towards Prescott. My [98:02] goodness. [98:04] What are we going to say? [98:06] >> Well, a lot of deliberation going on [98:08] here. [98:08] >> There is too much deliberation. I want [98:11] to see the replay while we will wait [98:13] just a moment. Raider football. They [98:14] want it to be Raider football. It's [98:16] Raider football. [98:19] Penalty was against Two Rivers. Anyway, [98:22] Raiders decline it and it will be [98:26] Hastings football. That is the play of [98:29] the game. And let's take a peek here. [98:31] Altilla gets kind of tripped up and [98:34] really put him offkilter. Ball came out. [98:37] Boy, I think he might have been down. [98:39] Ball does come out and who is it? Xavier [98:42] Tim who puts that smackdown in there [98:45] along with who was 11 in there too [98:47] Esther but he's been hitting people hard [98:49] all season [98:51] big play maybe the play of the game for [98:53] the Raiders and very well now if they [98:56] can hang on to this win here could be [98:59] the play of the season for Hastings [99:01] could be a game clenching play if they [99:03] can get a an extensive drive going here [99:06] I mean the pressure is really going to [99:07] be turned on two rivers [99:09] >> coach Carpenter is livid Coach Orth [99:12] standing kind of behind off 9:00 to him. [99:16] Coach Orth's kind of bringing coach [99:18] Carpenter over saying, "All right, we're [99:19] good now. Let's just move on." [99:22] Oh boy, were they heated far side. And I [99:24] again looking at the replay, it was very [99:26] close to thinking he might have been [99:28] down as that ball was coming out. No [99:31] evidence there. And there's no replay of [99:34] course in high school football until you [99:35] get to the state tournament. [99:37] >> Well, we'll take another look at the [99:38] replay here. We'll let you decide. [99:41] It certainly was was close. [99:45] >> 120 on the ground now for Zack Shadic, [99:48] says Dick Craig. [99:49] >> It seems fairly obvious on on replay on [99:52] replay in in slow-mo that he was down, [99:55] >> but obviously that's a bang bang [99:57] decision that the the refs have to make. [100:03] Raiders [100:04] [Music] [100:05] playing well defensively tonight. Now [100:08] catch a break that they have really not [100:10] gotten much of today as Shadic like a [100:15] missile flying into the defensive line [100:18] and look who gets up off the bottom of [100:19] the pile and he has been playing his [100:21] tail off today. 5'10", 350lb senior [100:25] Sawyer Ralphus. [100:27] Man, he has been a run stuffing plugger [100:30] that has just gave Zack Shadic and the [100:33] rest of the Raiders nowhere to run in [100:35] the middle. [100:36] >> I just don't know how you move a guy [100:37] like that. [100:38] >> Can't. You just can't. But the Raiders [100:40] have done such a good job today of doing [100:42] just that, finding a way. [100:46] Here's Shadic. And again, not going to [100:49] get too much on a third down carry. [100:52] That'll force fourth down. And the [100:54] Raiders go three and out very quick, [100:56] very quickly. And now Rolus, who's been [100:58] working his tail off and he has been [101:00] slow to get up a couple different times [101:02] on this drive. Now he is down on his [101:05] belly and he needs some help getting up. [101:08] That poor young man. Like I said, you [101:10] just got to tip your cap to big number [101:13] 79 because he has given everything. He's [101:16] got in the tank here tonight has given [101:19] Two Rivers a chance up front to really [101:23] slow down this Raider rushing attack, [101:25] which not many people have been able to [101:26] do. And even slowing down the Raider [101:29] rushing attack is still like 200 yds for [101:31] Shady Shadic. as we will take a look at [101:34] uh some tasty goods from savory butter [101:36] burgers to sweet scoops of frozen [101:38] custard including your wonderful daily [101:40] pick. We've got something handcrafted [101:42] for everyone. You can visit us at Culver [101:45] of Hastings and our location next to [101:47] Foods right here in town right up there [101:49] on the west side near Hastings High [101:51] School. So if you're going up there and [101:53] of course the Spoolhouse from prom to [101:55] weddings, let us suit your formal wear [101:57] needs. And more information is available [102:00] at thespoolhouse.com/soing.html. [102:05] >> Going to need them to fix up Shadex's [102:06] jersey after the game. [102:08] >> I believe you are correct. Again, [102:11] that has been one of the ways that he's [102:13] been brought down tonight. [102:15] >> Well, it it's it's crazy how 90 seconds [102:18] of game clock has elapsed since that [102:20] that turnover and they're about to punt [102:22] the ball away. I mean that's credit to [102:25] two rivers I suppose [102:26] >> but not an efficient drive for the [102:29] Raiders that many here at home were [102:31] hoping for. [102:34] Ares back at the 15. [102:38] Snap coming from around the 26. [102:44] Kick decent [102:46] takes a Raider hop and goes past the [102:50] hand of Bicil. Thankfully down just [102:53] about nose on the 40 [102:55] >> and amazingly no kick catch interference [102:57] on that one. [102:59] >> And again the thing we were told was it [103:02] was a trajectory thing. If you're in the [103:04] way of the trajectory, [103:07] uh, then they're going to call that [103:16] >> first down [103:19] for Two Rivers. [103:26] Go out of the [103:28] pistol formation with two receivers [103:30] left. And this time they'll hand off [103:32] Flanch. finds a little lane there to cut [103:35] back into the middle right to the [103:37] midfield stripes. A little short of a [103:39] first down [103:41] right on the 50 yards. A gain of about [103:43] nine. Second down and one for Two [103:46] Rivers. [103:48] And now it's Hastings going back to [103:50] their defense just asking them for one [103:52] more stop. Can we get one more stop? Can [103:54] we get one more turnover? [103:58] >> Hand off. Plancha right side gets the [104:02] first down. Almost lost the football, [104:04] too. They're going to say he was down [104:07] before he coughed that up. Take a look [104:10] again on this replay [104:14] as we'll see here [104:17] get upended. Yeah, the ground caused the [104:19] ball to come out. [104:20] >> You You've seen so many running backs in [104:22] the air tonight. I mean, they they both [104:24] really on both sides, but particularly [104:26] Two Rivers, they're running so [104:28] fearlessly. [104:29] I'm I'm not sure how they do that. [104:32] First down here for Two Rivers. Two [104:35] receivers split out wide to the left [104:36] side, one near side, right, and that's [104:39] Lonnie West out of the pistol. Handoff [104:42] goes to Verdea. What a great tackle. [104:44] First one in the back field. Barrett [104:46] Borman. No gain on the play. Late flag [104:49] will be thrown against Carter Herman [104:51] O'Brien for coming up and shoving the [104:53] wouldbe ball carrier after the play. He [104:55] didn't hear the whistle, but that [104:56] doesn't matter. The whistle still came [104:57] and it's going to be a 15yd penalty. [105:01] Not good. [105:02] >> It's just totally preventable. [105:04] >> Not smart. [105:06] >> Game's on the line here. The defense is [105:08] trying to hold strong. We'll take [105:09] another look at the at the replay here. [105:11] It's unfortunate that penalties have [105:13] played such a large part. He threw one [105:15] of the guys off of him that they were [105:17] kind of tangling with. It wasn't the [105:18] actual ball carrier. [105:21] Quick shout out as well. Raiders [105:24] football team's manager Colton McGrath [105:26] is at home. He's recovering from ACL [105:29] surgery. And he is at home listening, [105:31] watching, and cheering on the Raiders. [105:33] And we're just wanting to make sure we [105:35] send a little bit of blue and gold well [105:37] wishes to that young man. Hopefully he [105:38] gets that knee better. Get well soon. [105:41] Colton as a Raiders leading 14-7. Hand [105:43] off here goes to Verdea [105:46] and he will fall ahead for about a yard [105:49] maybe. Oh, they give him three or four. [105:51] My goodness, talk about a left foot [105:52] spot. Second down and six [105:55] and Two Rivers trying to hustle to the [105:57] line. Remember there's 238 left clock is [105:59] running tick tick tick tick tick and now [106:01] Altavilla trying to rush him to the [106:02] line. He gives it off for Deha running [106:04] right side block set up and also if hold [106:07] comes in that'll help the Raiders. [106:09] Not much of anything on the carry. Coach [106:13] Strain very happy there at the end of [106:15] the play. Had a couple words for [106:17] Boardman there. He wanted to make sure [106:19] he can get a new helmet on. He broke his [106:22] helmet. So, he's going to quickly run [106:24] over and grab a Dracula's helmet. See if [106:27] it fits. Does it fit? He says, "Yeah, I [106:28] think so. That'll at least work for [106:32] now." [106:34] You know, you've seen pit stops and pit, [106:36] you know, changes and all that stuff in [106:38] in auto racing, but I've never seen a, [106:40] you know, helmet on the run like that. [106:45] So now the Raiders after the penalty [106:48] have their defense out here. Second and [106:50] 15. [106:52] Ball about the 34 yd line. [106:56] Second down out of the gun. Two [106:59] receivers left, one near side right. [107:01] Single back for Deja. act to pass. [107:03] ALTAVILLA PUTS IT UP OFF THE hands of [107:06] Cole Altilla. Great play in the back [107:09] field. Carter Herman O'Brien making up [107:11] for it a bit after the penalty that was [107:14] not necessary in a control the [107:16] controllable format right there. Makes a [107:19] big play in the secondary and maybe a [107:22] game- saving or overtimes saving play [107:24] there that sets up third and 15. A big [107:28] play again. And this is those situations [107:32] that every one of these kids in both [107:34] teams, you know, you're playing in the [107:35] backyard growing up, you get down final [107:37] couple minutes, close game. I mean, you [107:39] got to put yourself in those situations [107:41] in this particular moment. [107:42] >> And you got to credit Trey Bil on the [107:44] pressure there, too. Came in like a [107:46] missile from the near side. [107:47] >> That's not shocking. That young man has [107:49] done that all year. What's this? [107:54] >> Did somebody [107:56] Okay, we were talking about this before. [107:59] [Applause] [108:02] Now, earlier there was somebody in the [108:04] crowd that was playing with a whistle. [108:11] >> Does Boardman have to sit out cuz his [108:12] helmet came off for a play? Is that what [108:14] >> I don't know what happened there. [108:19] >> I thought for a minute they were [108:20] pointing to the crowd. Now at halftime, [108:21] Manny Hill had to announce to the crowd [108:23] that whoever has the referee's whistle [108:24] and the crowd need to put it away or [108:25] we're going to get a 15-y penalty. [108:29] I thought for a moment there as the [108:30] officials were pointing to the crowd and [108:32] going pointing with their finger. I was [108:34] getting very worried there. [108:36] >> That'd be very on brand. [108:38] >> Oh my gosh. Out of the gun. Alilla on [108:41] third and long finds his man on a slant. [108:44] It's caught and it's down to the one or [108:46] is it in for a touchdown? It's a [108:48] touchdown. Touchdown on the play. Cole [108:52] Altilla. The Altilla boys connect. [108:55] And now 1413. Extra point coming up to [108:59] tie it. [109:01] >> Oh my. [109:02] >> Well, how big is this extra point [109:03] upcoming? Nothing's a given at the high [109:05] school level. But there we see the [109:06] touchdown from Cole Altavilla. You know, [109:08] we talk about about Drew so much, but [109:11] Cole Altavilla, you know, just another [109:13] one of these great receivers for Two [109:15] Rivers as looks like we'll get a timeout [109:19] called here. Now, the thing I'm [109:22] wondering is if [109:25] Two rivers on the road doesn't go for [109:27] two here. [109:29] >> That'd be that'd be something if they [109:30] did. [109:31] >> You know what I'm talking about. I mean, [109:32] an opportunity for these guys to come [109:35] down here and win and really put or you [109:37] put the pressure on Hastings or find a [109:39] way to win. I mean, this is an [109:41] interesting spot. And the timeout here [109:44] makes me feel like something might be [109:48] happening here because the Warriors were [109:50] the ones who called the timeout. Well, [109:52] you you have such a big offensive line [109:54] and and the way Verde has been running [109:57] and in and you know these bruising [110:00] manner. I mean maybe they do think and [110:04] Altilla's got great legs so he could [110:06] roll out on a on a bootleg or something. [110:08] I mean if I was the Raiders I might be a [110:11] little worried that they're going to go [110:13] for two. Seven plays, 60 yardds to cap [110:17] on the touchdown pass from [110:21] Drew Altavilla to Cole Altilla. [110:26] 1413 extra point pending coming. [110:32] They're going for two. They're going for [110:35] two. Alt Villa comes out for the lead. [110:39] Verde in the back field. Are they trying [110:42] to bark the Raiders off sides? [110:45] Out of the gun. THEY'RE GOING FOR IT. [110:47] ALILLA. PASSIVE. Puts it up. It's [110:50] caught. Two-point conversion. Good. [110:54] Warriors lead at 1514 with 157 left. [111:04] Johnny Loggererman. [111:06] Of course, he's been burning Hastings [111:08] for years at this point. And take [111:10] another look at the replay here. Just [111:13] perfection. [111:14] >> Jeez, [111:16] that young man has just torched us for [111:19] years [111:21] and years, it seems. And finally, he'll [111:24] graduate. But boy oh boy, [111:28] is he giving a final send off [111:32] his senior year [111:35] in the playoffs. And take a look. [111:38] Well, and this is going to be the uh the [111:40] touchdown pass. [111:42] >> Just found a nice spot soft inside. [111:47] Shook off that first tackle and once he [111:50] got through Trey Bil, it was all over. [111:53] [Applause] [111:55] Well, and this this game has been so [111:56] much about swings. I mean, we you know, [111:58] we talk about these points in the game [112:00] where it could have gone one way, could [112:01] have gone another way. when they got [112:02] that stop with like 5 and 1/2 minutes to [112:05] go or whatever it was, you know, it was [112:06] really looking all Hastings. But you you [112:09] have a a twominute drive, punt the ball [112:12] away, they score, they get two points. I [112:14] mean, they totally flipped the script [112:16] here on Hastings. And now Hastings is [112:18] against the ropes. [112:20] Raider fans, you know better than to [112:22] count out your Raiders at this point. [112:29] kick line drive takes a hop and it's [112:32] going to bounce all the way back near [112:34] the end zone. It's a touch back. All [112:37] right, that's best case scenario from [112:40] what it seemed like it was about to be. [112:42] >> All right, [112:43] >> very well could have stalled at the at [112:45] the one. [112:47] >> Okay, two-minute drill. [112:49] >> We can do this. I [112:51] >> got all three of your timeouts. You [112:53] >> got your timeouts. You got the best [112:55] weapon in the state. [112:58] You got a line that I'll be honest, even [113:01] though they've been outsized, they [113:03] haven't backed down. They've tired these [113:04] guys out. We've seen guys on their [113:06] defensive line of two rivers down on the [113:08] turf. This Raider, this dimminative line [113:13] has kept up. And do they have one more [113:15] drive in them? We will see here [113:20] to pass Hansen on the run. Oh, he had [113:24] Foss in and out of his hands. would have [113:26] been a first down. [113:28] Second and 10. [113:31] >> If you're Hastings, you just got to [113:32] totally disregard that. Just move on to [113:35] the next play. That would have been [113:37] pretty [113:38] helpful if they would have got that [113:39] first down there and got out of bounds. [113:41] But [113:43] got to have a short memory in these [113:44] two-minute drives. [113:46] [Applause] [113:48] Hastings 150 away [113:52] >> from having their season stolen at home [113:54] against their biggest rival. Weber [113:57] starting to get his foot loose on the [114:00] sidelines. Back to pass, setting up a [114:02] screen to Sheney. It's caught. Sheney [114:05] breaks a tackle but gets only out to the [114:07] 22. Minimal gain. Clock starting to run. [114:10] Three timeouts. 140 to go. And the [114:13] Raiders will take a timeout. [114:16] Should be two seconds, but back on the [114:18] clock, too. [114:22] >> So, the Raiders take their time out here [114:24] now with 138 left. Two timeouts left for [114:27] each team. Warriors leading 1514 here in [114:31] fourth quarter. Calling regulation time. [114:34] Whoops, that was not fun. Oh, that fell [114:36] down. There we go. [114:39] Yeah, that's fine. [114:42] Throwing chairs in here. What's going [114:44] on? It's not it's not a royal royal [114:45] rumble quite yet. [114:49] Raiders though as a team hoping to find [114:52] some magic here in this final two [114:54] minutes. Now remember Raiders can get [114:56] you got to get close enough here for [114:58] Weber. See the clock there? They did put [115:01] those two seconds back on. [115:03] >> What What do you think the target [115:04] distance would be for for Weber? [115:06] >> You need to get down to the 15 yd line. [115:11] >> 20 maybe. The wind is in his face. [115:13] Remember that two fans? The wind is [115:15] blowing across the field here. And [115:18] that's a pass that was tipped, I think, [115:20] at the line or that was just a pass that [115:22] didn't connect. I don't know which one [115:23] it was. We're going to have to take a [115:24] look if that got tipped at the line or [115:27] if that was just a misthrown football. [115:29] Just a misthrown football. Not the best [115:31] time for that. [115:34] Take a peek again as Hansen out of the [115:36] gun. Drop back. Fine. Quick three-step [115:39] drop. Set well. Threw it well. No, that [115:42] just got kind of [115:43] >> I think he got tipped. [115:44] >> Oh, okay. Well, [115:46] >> season comes down to this. [115:48] >> Wow. Raiders 2025 season. [115:53] There's been lots of ups, some downs. [115:57] >> Yeah, they're going to have to call [115:58] timeout here. [115:58] >> They're going to call timeout here. [116:02] And that will give everybody a chance to [116:05] figure out what they want to do. And [116:06] then we'll also give us a chance to also [116:10] not just thank one sponsor, but really [116:12] all of our our sponsor supporters [116:14] throughout the year. And thank you very [116:16] much to the Schoolhouse Culver's. Uh [116:18] both have been just so wonderful. And we [116:20] want more as we get into the season, [116:22] which will start with some girls hockey [116:24] coming up here in just a few weeks. [116:26] Believe it or not, folks, girls hockey [116:28] always begins their practice setup right [116:29] around uh Halloween. So that's going to [116:32] be getting going here before too long. [116:34] And of course, we're going to have [116:35] plenty of coverage throughout the winter [116:37] season, the longest season we know we [116:39] have here in the Tri County area. Lots [116:41] of fun that will be taking place, [116:43] including hockey, basketball, swimming, [116:45] and more. We'll have that uh right here [116:48] on HCTV. And here we go. [116:53] Hopefully, we have some more football [116:54] yet. [116:56] 136 to go, but fourth and eight. Season [117:00] on the line on this play. Hansen over [117:02] the middle. that it's going to be [117:04] incomplete and that'll do it. [117:07] Unbelievable. You got to give big credit [117:10] here to Two Rivers for coming in here [117:12] today afternoon game. Raiders looked [117:15] really good off the start, but Two [117:17] Rivers stayed with it all game long. [117:20] Found a way to keep grinding and we knew [117:23] this game would be a onepossession [117:25] contest. We knew it would come down to [117:27] the final, what did I say? 4 minutes. [117:29] top of final 91 seconds before we found [117:32] a winner in this one. And it's going to [117:34] be Two Rivers 1514 131 to go. Raiders [117:38] have two timeouts, but really for all [117:40] intents and purposes, close enough for a [117:42] field goal try. Even if it were to get [117:44] to some weird spot where you'd want it, [117:46] but you wouldn't even want to try that [117:47] because you'd end up maybe getting a [117:50] block and returning it. [117:53] You just run it out here if you're two [117:54] Rivers. What a bummer for Hastings. And [117:58] the excitement we've had here at Todd [118:00] Field throughout the year, it's going to [118:02] come unfortunately to an end here [118:06] at home of all places. [118:09] And like we've seen for the last 10, 12, [118:12] 15 years, [118:14] either Hastings ending two rivers season [118:16] or vice versa. Well, you know, they say [118:19] a good rule of thumb and with offensive [118:22] philosophy and just game gameplay [118:23] philosophy is doing what would make the [118:25] team nervous. And boy, you know, when we [118:27] when we thought they were coming out for [118:29] the for the extra point and then they [118:30] call the timeout, you start to get [118:32] really nervous because, you know, I [118:34] mean, are you are you really afraid of [118:35] them kicking the extra point and, you [118:37] know, playing for overtime? They were [118:38] not playing for overtime. They were [118:39] playing to win the game. And and you got [118:43] to credit coach Orth and the the the [118:46] team for for that two-point conversion [118:48] too because you know the Raiders defense [118:50] up until that point really throughout [118:52] the entire you know second quarter third [118:54] quarter they were just standing on their [118:56] on their head right [118:57] >> you know yeah Verdea uh you know had [119:00] been had been doing really well in short [119:01] yardage and things like that but the [119:02] defense was playing so well that's what [119:04] makes it so interesting that they [119:05] decided to go for that two-point [119:06] conversion and play for the for the win. [119:10] >> Just a bummer. I mean, for the Raider [119:11] fans, but you know, you got to feel [119:14] really good for the Two Rivers kids, and [119:17] they're going to get an opportunity [119:19] after just physically willing themselves [119:23] in the second half to a win, which which [119:25] they did. I mean, we know that every [119:28] time you play two two Rivers for [119:30] Hastings anyway, it's going to be, you [119:33] know, tough tough tough and physical. [119:35] And it sounds so cliche, but it's so [119:36] true. I mean, every year that team puts [119:39] out [119:40] big fellas that can really play the [119:42] game. [119:45] >> And Two Rivers right now being stout on [119:48] managing the clock [119:51] while putting a couple of kneel downs [119:53] out there. Not really trying to find a [119:55] way to give the Raiders any semblance of [119:58] hope to get the football back. [120:08] Two Rivers again will kneel it down and [120:11] that will do it. [120:14] Two Rivers. Wow. They come into [120:18] Hastings. They get the big dub. [120:22] Playoff win. Raider season will end at [120:25] four and five. And I can't believe I'm [120:26] saying that right now after such a [120:29] wonderful start. So many great things [120:31] happening this year. But it ends [120:35] at 1514. [120:38] And the Raiders will end their season at [120:41] four and five. Uh gosh, mail man. I I I [120:44] know I'm a bleeding heart Raiders. So it [120:46] might cut me a little more than your [120:47] park skin. I know. But [120:50] uh you get very close to these guys as [120:52] well. That's tough as you look at Shady. [120:54] He did get that touchdown, but boy, they [120:55] did a nice job bottling them up tonight. [120:58] >> Yeah, man. They they played so well. And [121:00] here's the the final dagger. that that [121:02] touchdown pass from Altavilla to Altilla [121:05] and Altavilla to Altavilla connection [121:07] and you know they get that two-point [121:09] conversion. Yeah, it's a it's a [121:10] devastating way to lose. I mean, you [121:12] knew this game was going to be ugly. You [121:14] knew this game was going to be physical, [121:16] you know, just like the first one. You [121:18] know, sometimes when you're the team [121:20] that loses the first matchup, you're [121:21] kind of at an advantage in a way in in [121:23] the second matchup cuz you know what you [121:25] have to fix. you know, when when you [121:27] win, you don't commit it as much to [121:30] heart, you know, but when you when you [121:31] lose when when you know what's, you [121:34] know, ahead of you, when you know what's [121:35] on your plate, you know, sometimes that [121:37] could be an advantage. And it and it [121:38] really was for Two Rivers here tonight. [121:40] And man, they're uh that's a big win for [121:43] them. And here we'll take a look at the [121:45] bracket. They're going to take on St. [121:46] Thomas. That'll be an interesting [121:48] matchup. St. Thomas always a powerhouse, [121:50] always good, probably the better team on [121:53] paper than Two Rivers, but you know, Two [121:55] Rivers just has an ability to, you know, [121:57] they've been getting that some good [121:58] wins, that shut out against Northfield, [122:00] that win against Mano East and obviously [122:02] the win here on the road at Hastings. [122:05] So, you got to figure they're going to [122:06] be live dogs in that one. Take a look at [122:09] the winter sports preview. Like you [122:11] said, a lot of hockey, a lot of girls [122:13] hockey. Starts on the 11th versus Egan. [122:16] And then a couple weeks later, we got [122:18] girls hockey versus Hudson, boys hockey [122:21] versus Dodge County to kick off [122:22] December. And then the following day, we [122:25] have girls hockey versus Two Rivers. [122:28] And that's going to be our winter. [122:29] You're going to have lots of fun, all [122:30] sorts of fun coming up. Don't be afraid [122:32] to take a peek at our website, our [122:34] Facebooks, our Twitters, all that fun [122:36] stuff to let uh let you guys know what's [122:38] going on. Hunter Pinky, great job doing [122:40] the producing and directing today. [122:41] Mailman, always a great uh time to be [122:43] next to you. Ian Andrewac, Max Locom, [122:46] Tory Selner. Awesome. Hunter doing more [122:48] stuff, graphics and replay as well. I [122:50] want to thank you, bud. This was so much [122:52] fun as always. You know how much fun I [122:54] have when we're around here. We get all [122:55] crazy and whatnot. Hopefully, we can do [122:57] some fun stuff here in the in in the [122:59] winter time, you know, basketball, [123:00] hockey stuff. That'll be a great time as [123:02] well. But, a lot of good memories, you [123:04] know, and it's a bummer for the seniors. [123:05] It's the hardest part of everything, but [123:07] they're going to leave us to some great [123:08] memories. And I think we had a lot of [123:09] fun with them throughout the year. [123:11] >> Yeah, I couldn't put it any better. [123:13] Right. It was it was a fun year. No [123:14] matter how it ends, no matter you know [123:16] what the record, it was it will always [123:18] be remembered as a as a a historic [123:20] season certainly from uh you know an [123:22] offensive perspective, but you know this [123:25] this season uh meant a lot to a lot of [123:27] people and you know had to come to an [123:30] end at at some point and they they sure [123:32] gave it their all here against Two [123:33] Rivers but came up short. [123:35] >> Raiders end the season at four and five [123:38] overall. Two Rivers goes to 5-4. They [123:40] have a date with St. Thomas Academy next [123:43] weekend for the mailman Owen Ely. I'm [123:46] Nick Tuckner. I've had a whole bunch of [123:47] fun with you folks that have been [123:48] watching throughout the year and can't [123:50] wait to come back with you again next [123:52] season. Of course, coming up in the [123:53] winter as well. Don't forget Hockey Day [123:55] Minnesota coming up in Hastings this [123:57] year. A lot more coming up on all that. [123:58] We'll have plenty of primers and good [124:00] fun preview stuff for you when we get to [124:02] that point. But that's it for us for the [124:04] fall. Final score 1514. The Two Rivers [124:08] Warriors pull off the upset against [124:09] Hastings right here on Hastings [124:11] Community Television. [124:14] [Music]
