[0:02] Dear wrestling, thank you for being [0:05] there for me the last four years. Thank [0:07] you for taking me out of my comfort zone [0:09] and continuously pushing me in school [0:11] and in my sports. Whenever my life felt [0:13] out of control, I could count on you to [0:15] bring me back down to earth. Wrestling [0:18] provided me with a stable place and [0:19] people that I knew would be there for me [0:21] no matter what. [0:23] When I moved schools and began high [0:25] school in Hastings, I never would have [0:27] thought it would lead me to join the [0:28] first girls wrestling team. Being a part [0:31] of the first six girls and ending as one [0:33] of 35 was an experience I will take with [0:36] me for the rest of my life. And it [0:38] created countless friendships and [0:39] relationships I will cherish forever. [0:42] Wrestling in high school was never just [0:44] a sport. It provided me with work ethic [0:46] and mental toughness that I would not [0:47] have gotten anywhere else. [0:50] Wrestling turned me into the person I am [0:52] today. I have a new attitude, a new way [0:55] of looking at my life and future ahead [0:57] of me. And most importantly, the coaches [1:00] constantly provide new life lessons [1:02] every step of the way. It showed me the [1:06] biggest challenges give the biggest [1:07] rewards and not just in the sport, but [1:10] every aspect of your life. As well as [1:12] the biggest thank you to my family over [1:14] the last four years. It took a special [1:16] type of person to put up with my [1:18] attitude from being tired and [1:19] overwhelmed at times, but nevertheless, [1:21] I always had someone in the stands [1:23] cheering me on. I know the weekends at [1:26] wrestling were never quick and fun, but [1:28] I had the biggest supporters there, [1:30] especially my dad, who made sure I knew [1:32] that it was exactly where he wanted to [1:34] be. The time I spent with him during the [1:36] season, driving me home from meets and [1:39] sitting with him in the stands in [1:40] between my matches is some of our best [1:42] memories and turned my dad into my best [1:44] friend. [1:46] So, thank you wrestling. I could not [1:48] have asked for a better ending, better [1:50] coaches, better supporters, or better [1:52] teammates.
