[0:00] [Music] [0:06] Super [0:07] turtle. [0:13] >> Choose your character. [0:16] >> Wendy [0:17] Nicole. [0:20] Hey everybody, I'm Wendy Schultz [0:22] Johnson, hometown Hastings girl and [0:25] owner of the studio downtown. Our space [0:28] is your place. It is my rookie year, but [0:32] I am a true believer in beginner's luck. [0:35] It is real and is where I'm counting on, [0:38] but I might have been practicing just [0:41] anyway. My duck, Mrs. Beley and I, we [0:44] are psyched to be here today. We love [0:47] the support everybody seeing everybody [0:49] down here. We are here to ride. We are [0:54] here to win. [0:57] I'm Nicole Sindelar, owner of Hastings [1:01] Golf Club and Hastings Public House here [1:03] supporting the YMCA and of course [1:04] Rivertown Days of the Chamber of [1:07] Hastings, the best place around. I'm [1:10] here today to represent [1:12] on this super scary river and my plan is [1:16] to take down all my opponents and if I [1:19] don't, I'll probably murder them. [1:23] [Music] [1:27] Three, two, one, fight. [1:34] [Music] [1:42] [Music] [1:53] Yeah. [1:55] [Music] [2:16] [Music] [2:21] You win. [2:25] High scores. [2:35] Choose your character. [2:37] Jordan [2:39] Adam. [2:41] >> Hi, I'm Officer Georgan Freeman Den. I'm [2:44] actually the school resource officer and [2:46] I'm here on the duck race today. We got [2:48] a lot of competition here, but I'm in it [2:50] to win it. I'm sponsored by Hastings [2:53] Chrysler. Oh, no. Hastings Ford, [2:55] Chrysler, and Jeep. Um, I don't want to [2:58] give out the details of what I've [3:00] learned to win because competition is [3:02] nearby and they can hear me. So, I don't [3:04] want to share that yet, but you'll see [3:05] at the end. Thank you. [3:08] >> Hey everybody, my name is Adam Elling. [3:10] I'm the 2024 Duck Race Champion. It's [3:12] great to be back. I'm honored to be [3:14] invited one more year to take on this [3:17] river. Last year was in the pool. Now, [3:18] we're back in the river. I can't wait to [3:20] get into the river. I have been [3:21] practicing this week, so I've got some [3:23] strategies. George Anne was looking at [3:25] my duck and she stole my strategy a [3:27] little bit, but that's okay because she [3:28] doesn't know how to handle the duck the [3:30] way it's inflated. Anyway, I'm really [3:32] excited to get out there. So, let's go. [3:35] [Music] [3:40] >> Three, two, one, fight. [3:45] [Music] [3:48] Heat. [3:54] [Music] [3:58] Heat. [4:01] [Music] [4:09] [Applause] [4:28] You win. [4:30] [Applause] [4:31] High scores. [4:34] [Applause] [4:35] [Music] [4:40] Choose your character. [4:43] Mitch [4:45] Connie. [4:48] >> Hey, I'm Connie Waters. I am [4:50] representing the YMCA. I am their new [4:52] aquatics director. I am from South [4:54] Carolina and this is my first time [4:56] racing on the dock. Um, I'm very [4:59] competitive. I like to win. I like to be [5:01] number one. So, you know, we'll just [5:03] have to see what I do out there. But [5:05] yeah, I wish everybody luck, but I'm [5:06] going to be number one. [5:10] >> Hi, my name is Mitch Sheman. I'm a [5:11] middle school teacher and coach. I'm [5:14] going be heading down to the river here [5:16] in just a second riding my duck, Chuck. [5:19] Chuck at the duck. We were floating on [5:21] the river earlier this week and uh we [5:23] are feeling pretty good. Doesn't matter [5:25] about the other competitors. I'm just [5:28] racing the river right now and I'm [5:29] feeling pretty darn good. Hope you're [5:31] ready to go. Woohoo. [5:34] [Music] [5:39] Three, two, one, fight. [7:35] This is the the first time I've been on [7:36] a rubber duck. I've trained a little [7:38] bit, okay, but and everything went to [7:40] the game plan. I absolutely love all the [7:42] people back here. I had a lot of family [7:44] and friends I was sitting here watching. [7:46] Raced against uh Adam who was a coach I [7:49] coached with over the summer. So, it was [7:51] always I mean it was it was a lot of [7:52] fun. Georgian being our school resource [7:54] officer. It was a blast. That was that [7:56] was awesome. And it all goes to Hastings [7:58] YMCA. So, it was a fantastic time. Hey, [8:01] if they if they ask me, I I'll jump back [8:03] on the river. Yep. I'll I know how the [8:05] river flows. I think I've got a leg up [8:07] on if anybody uh is the Oh, something [8:11] happened. [8:13] Yeah. Uh if they ask me back, I'll jump [8:14] back on the river. Absolutely. No, thank [8:16] you again. Thank you to Hastings YMCA [8:18] for uh for putting this on Rivertown [8:21] Days on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. [8:23] Lot of people here cheering around. We [8:25] had uh six six competitors that were [8:27] great people all around. And then um [8:30] jumping into a nice ice cold river on a [8:33] hot day was was beautiful. So yeah, it [8:35] was a lot of fun. So thank you. [8:37] >> Perfect.
