look having full-timers on duty sleeping at the station within 50 yards from their truck is massive it's pretty nice to be able to be on site when we get calls instead of responding from from our house to the fire station now makes it a lot quicker lot smoother from the time that we get page until the station or the truck goes in route

with a staff truck that turnout time is less than 2 minutes and that is one of our goals that we had when we started down this uh this uh Staffing was to be 2 minutes or less that's the average that we want to get them out the door on any call

our overall response time as example used to be with uh the pay on call staffing and it is what it is is would be 12 to 14 minutes before we get a truck on scene right now with just one truck because they're covering the ENT entire city they're at that they're at 9 Minutes 13 seconds to get on scene so that's a pretty dramatic shift

they already have dedicated tasks like one guy I know is going to force the door and then the other guy's going to be pulling a line in the front door and so a lot of the times we can save a lot of property just because we're taking out the fires so fast before they actually spread to the rest of the house so that's like a big I'd say that's like the major advantage of having full-timers

the comfort is knowing we have a truck that is staffed all the time versus when we were doing a pay on you know paid on 100% pay on call we're paging out of state and we never know are we getting enough people to respond to that emergency

next year when we add a second truck that staff we're going to watch that that come down to our goal is to be at about 7 minutes 30 seconds to have a truck on scene for any incident in the city of Lakeville
