[0:00] [Music] [0:06] uh Miracle on 34th Street is a comedy [0:09] the story of Santa Claus trying to make [0:12] people believe in him so to speak uh and [0:15] fighting back against uh the [0:17] capitalistic world that we've kind of [0:19] created for ourselves Chris Kringle is a [0:22] kindly uh older gentleman who is sort of [0:26] it seems maybe lost at the beginning of [0:28] the show seems like he's being almost [0:30] escorted to the next chapter of his life [0:33] this particular Santa is in New York [0:36] City and at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day [0:40] Parade he is pressed into Service uh [0:43] would you fill in for us and play Santa [0:45] in this parade I am not in the habit of [0:48] substituting for intoxicated imposters [0:50] as luck would have it a situation uh [0:53] presents itself or he gets to reclaim [0:55] the role of Santa Claus the reason I'm [0:58] here is there's a young girl who is [1:00] being brought up to be very realistic [1:03] about life no dreams as such no [1:06] fantasies life is straightforward [1:08] process Susan is a 7-year-old girl you [1:12] just went through a divorce and it was [1:14] very painful for her my character Doris [1:17] and my daughter Susan we are hardcore [1:21] reality people all business her mother [1:24] taught her not to believe in Santa Claus [1:26] so she doesn't believe at first that [1:29] chis cringle is Santa Claus I am there [1:32] to change that and help her believe and [1:36] use her imagination Fred from the get-go [1:39] is astounded by Chris he really truly is [1:45] an embodiment of what he has been trying [1:48] to do now for several years in knowing [1:50] Doris and Susan which is to help them [1:53] believe in faith and love and laughter [1:57] and who better than Santa Claus himself [1:59] to inject that into a daughter and [2:03] mother Chris kingle touches different [2:05] people's lives and makes little kind of [2:07] mini miracles happen throughout the [2:09] course of the show unfortunately there's [2:10] one particular character that isn't fond [2:13] of Mr Kringle and Chris finds himself in [2:15] court fighting to prove his own [2:17] existence this is a classic story I [2:19] think a lot of people know it and love [2:20] it and deservedly so um it is just a [2:24] story about letting love in your life [2:27] putting your walls down being present in [2:30] the season taking it for what it is why [2:32] it matters not letting all the external [2:35] things get in the way well I think it's [2:37] very sweet and I've never really watched [2:40] the movie so I honestly think it's [2:42] really good I think my favorite thing [2:44] about the story is [2:47] actually how um it ends because it I [2:51] really like Cliffhangers bolon 34 Street [2:54] is all about belief it's all about [2:56] letting go and believing in something [2:58] that's bigger than yourself [3:00] it's about family and most importantly [3:02] around the holiday what matters [3:05] Expressions theater presents Miracle on [3:07] 34 Street the show runs from Friday [3:11] November 15th through Sunday November [3:13] 24th for additional information contact [3:16] the Lakeville Area art center you're a [3:18] disgrace through the uniform where's [3:20] your Christmas spirit here right here [3:24] you got to keep warm [3:28] [Music]
