[Music] hi I'm superintendent Doug vanile this is everything to know in 194 where our District administration will give you updates on what's happening in our school district as we wrap up the 23 24 school year I'd like to share everything you need to know for summer break as summer approaches we're excited to share a few Resources with families to support you over the break school is out but learning doesn't have to stop this summer students should take their iPads home over the break and use their vetted resources to keep their minds engaged using a district issued iPad provides safe and secure learning access the vetted instructional apps is interactive and engaging and promotes hard and soft skill development families with students enrolled in Lakeville area schools have multiple options for meals throughout the summer the open door will provide wholesome healthy food and meals to our K12 students free of charge through a mobile l lunch box pickup program at several locations in Lakeville and Burnsville State and other agencies are also providing meal and grocery support through SBT benefits all students enrolled in an in-person school who qualify for free in reduced price education benefits between July 1st of 2023 and August 31st of 2024 are eligible to receive funds to purchase food over the summer Lakeville area schools also offers a number of academic Services throughout the summer for all ages academic Services include Small Wonders alphabet adventures launch into learning preiner Garten summer Adventures the den Middle School enrichment High School Credit Recovery the rising n Retreat and more you can learn more about iPads summer meal assistance summer academic services and additional summer resources on our district website before you head off for the summer we also want to remind you about our annual School Readiness event Ready Set achieve Ready Set achieve is an event for families with students who are in need of school supplies and or School immunizations for the coming school year all the supplies and resources provided at this event are free to students enrolled in Lakeville area schools last year with the support of our families staff and Community we provided more than 780 students with supplies that they needed to start their year strong our goal is to increase that number this year this year's event will take place Tuesday August 20th from 12: to 4:00 p.m. in Lakeville North High School Commons learn more about ready set achieve and how you can help support Lakeville area students on our district website are you interested in becoming more involved in Lakeville area schools learn more about becoming a Lakeville Area School Board of Education member Lakeville area school residents are invited to submit an Affidavit of candidacy between between July 30th and August 13th learn more about becoming a Schoolboard member including candidate criteria on our district website another item that I wanted to share with you was to extend a huge appreciation to our retiring Educators from the Lakeville area schools this year we have numerous people that are leaving us to move on uh to other adventures in their life one of the things that they've done has supported us with over 800 years of experience in our school district that's thousands of lives touched thousands of lives changed and we want to offer our sincere congratulations and appreciation for all that they've done another group that I want to extend my sincere congratulations to is our over a thousand students that'll be leaving Lakeville area schools through their graduation ceremony this year thank you for all that you've done to help our school district become what it is today we wish you nothing but the best of success and luck in your future endeavors that's everything you need to know in 194 thank you for all of your help and support this year and hope that you have a great safe summer [Music]
