[0:00] hi I'm John Mumo with the city of
[0:01] Lakeville and the construction services
[0:03] division i would like to highlight a few
[0:06] things that take place during a street
[0:07] project spot curb and gutter replacement
[0:10] is one of those things examples of spot
[0:13] curb and gutter that will be replaced
[0:15] are areas that are severely damaged or
[0:17] broken and curb that does not allow the
[0:20] flow of water during storm events
[0:22] examples of curb and gutter that would
[0:24] not be replaced include minor or
[0:27] moderate cracking and any chipped curb
[0:30] as these are just cosmetic
[0:32] damages removal and damaged curb and
[0:35] gutter may impact driveways this would
[0:38] typically occur in asphalt driveways
[0:40] where sections up to 5 ft from the back
[0:42] of curb may need to be
[0:45] replaced typically in concrete driveways
[0:48] this area would not have to be replaced
[0:50] however if city staff mark concrete
[0:53] driveways for replacement it would
[0:55] typically be up to that first joint
[0:58] other instances of driveway removals may
[1:00] be due to utility improvements such as
[1:03] fire hydrants water valves and storm
[1:06] sewer systems the removal limits vary
[1:09] depending on proximity and scope of work
[1:12] to be completed during a street project
[1:16] there's potential for limited access to
[1:18] your property typically this only occurs
[1:20] if concrete work is needed across the
[1:23] full width of your driveway city staff
[1:25] will deliver door hangers a minimum of
[1:28] 24 hours in advance if access is limited
[1:32] for any reason during this process areas
[1:34] in the lawn that may be disturbed to
[1:36] facilitate constructions include areas
[1:39] behind curb and gutter that are marked
[1:41] for removal areas surrounding driveways
[1:44] marked for removal around storm sewer
[1:47] catch basins and grates and around some
[1:49] fire hydrants for instance with concrete
[1:52] curb and gutter 1 ft either side of the
[1:56] marked curb and 4T behind it may be
[1:58] impacted due to construction with
[2:01] driveways impact limits may be two feet
[2:04] either side of the driveway and one foot
[2:07] beyond the removal
[2:09] limits the impact limits around fire
[2:12] hydrants may be up to 4 ft behind the
[2:14] fire hydrant and 8 ft either side
[2:17] special attention in these areas may be
[2:20] needed for private features located
[2:22] within the city right away if you would
[2:25] like to protect your private features
[2:27] from damage during construction such as
[2:30] irrigation or sprinkler systems pet
[2:32] containment systems and landscaping
[2:34] please temporarily remove them from the
[2:36] city right away in areas that will be
[2:39] impacted by construction your
[2:41] cooperation is greatly appreciated for
[2:44] more information about the street
[2:45] projects please visit the city of
