[0:11] in the Lakeville areaschools community will vote
[0:13] on weather to renew
[0:15] our school district'scapital projects levy.
[0:18] Renewing means thereis no new tax increase.
[0:22] This levy was previouslyapproved by voters in 2015,
[0:27] and if approved for renewal,
[0:29] the levy would sustain $4 million annually
[0:32] for the next 10 years,
[0:33] to maintain staff and student devices,
[0:37] educational technology, infrastructure
[0:39] and security technology,
[0:41] and continue to invest in career pathways
[0:44] and STEM education opportunities.
[0:47] If voters do not renew the levy,
[0:49] the district will face budget cuts
[0:51] for the 2026, 27 school year.
[0:54] These cuts will includedelaying device, equipment,
[0:57] and system maintenance,leading to decreased cyber
[1:00] and physical security.
[1:02] Staff positions willalso have to be reduced.
