[0:02] Today we're working with snowplow [0:04] drivers. Uh we're doing various [0:06] exercises out on the course. Uh Mr. [0:09] Byron's doing serpentine and braking [0:12] exercises. I'm doing evasive maneuvers [0:14] and backing. This is important because [0:16] it obviously with the skill areas that [0:18] we focus on gives drivers an idea of [0:21] their limitations when they're driving [0:23] their vehicle and also vehicle [0:25] limitations. We do various speeds out [0:27] here. We increase speed, but we also [0:30] decrease it so they can find out how [0:32] maneuverable their vehicles actually [0:34] are. And [0:34] we're not all used to driving big [0:36] trucks. It gets you to understand what [0:38] the truck can actually do. It really [0:39] gets you to test the truck on the power, [0:42] the capability of the handling time. [0:44] I've been here for 7 years, so it's kind [0:47] of cool to do it again and just get you [0:50] familiar again and just gets you back in [0:52] the groove, gets you comfortable with [0:54] the with the steering, everything. It's [0:56] very important that the community go [0:59] ahead and know that these drivers are [1:00] trained, and these drivers have some [1:02] kind of knowledge of their vehicles and [1:05] what they're doing out on the roadway. [1:06] It's safer for the community. It's safer [1:08] for the drivers that are driving these [1:10] snow plows and for anybody driving any [1:12] type of vehicle at any time. Should be [1:15] very important for the community. If the [1:18] snow plows are working, they're working [1:20] in tandem, or even if they're working by [1:21] themselves, back off, reduce your speed, [1:25] and let the snowplow drivers do their [1:27] job. It's imperative that you do not try [1:30] to pass them, that you do not try to go [1:32] around them in any way, shape, or [1:34] manner. [1:35] Make our job easier to get your garbage [1:36] cans off the street in your driveway. [1:39] Just make sure they're behind the curb [1:40] so we can get that the wing right to the [1:42] curb line to make sure the road is [1:44] completely clear. Same with your cars. [1:47] So we can get most of the snow off the [1:50] road.
