[0:05] What I really enjoy in [0:07] forensics is the documentaries [0:09] we watch, and we learn about all, [0:11] ballistics and blood spatters [0:13] and also hair and fibers [0:14] was also really cool, [0:15] that I really enjoyed. [0:16] And we also just do a bunch of [0:18] labs, and it's super fun. [0:21] I really liked welding this year. [0:22] It was one of those new skills [0:24] that you wouldn't learn anywhere else. [0:27] And it was a really fun experience. [0:29] I have been learning about circuits. [0:32] An open circuit is a circuit that does, [0:36] is like open. [0:38] It is not connected to the device. [0:41] As if, like a charger is connected to the [0:44] to the outlet, [0:45] but is not connected to the phone. [0:47] A closed circuit is when the wire [0:49] or the circuit [0:50] is connected to the device, [0:52] and can be used. [0:54] We've been working on [0:56] motorcycles the whole year. [0:57] Mainly, two of them we're doing [0:58] the Dennis Kirk [0:59] bike for them, for the raffle at Sturgis. [1:03] And then we've been working [1:04] on one of his bikes [1:05] that we were getting ready [1:05] for the Donnie Smith Show. [1:07] And we've been doing [1:08] a lot of different work with those. [1:09] We built this bike from the ground up, [1:11] the Dennis Kirk bike. And then his bike, [1:13] we've been doing a lot of adjustments [1:14] to make it look nice [1:15] and just get it ready to ride. [1:18] And then, last year [1:20] we were both on the Rat Rod Build Off [1:22] team for Northern Tool and Equipment, [1:25] with Richard Petty and Billy Lane. [1:27] We've been learning [1:27] about density [1:29] and finding formulas for it. [1:30] And we're just getting into acids [1:32] and bases. [1:33] We did a lab where we [1:35] fill different amounts [1:36] of salt into water and have them float [1:39] to make a rainbow. [1:40] So that was kind of cool. [1:41] We've been learning about Ozobots. [1:44] What I've learned about them is that they [1:46] follow lines and [1:49] they can go on color codes. [1:52] We actually did [1:54] a lot of stuff with fabrics. [1:56] Like acrylic, satin, polyester. [1:59] And we would look to try to identify [2:01] the types of weave patterns [2:02] which can fit in [2:03] with forensics and crime [2:04] scenes, to identify [2:06] where people purchase [2:07] fabrics or what type of fabrics [2:08] they’re wearing. [2:09] Some of my favorite units [2:10] were the ballistics, [2:11] so you can [2:12] see the trajectory of the bullets [2:14] and like, also blood. [2:15] We learned about [2:16] the different types of blood [2:17] and how to identify them [2:19] and different tests that they use.
