[0:14] i'm Katrina Pete i'm an artist i do
[0:17] watercolor and acrylic and oil so I
[0:21] don't have a formal degree in art i have
[0:23] a a medical lab science degree and so I
[0:27] worked in the medical field for 12 years
[0:30] and it was a great job um when my kids
[0:32] were born then I decided to take a step
[0:35] back and be at home with them but also
[0:38] around the same time I started doing
[0:40] designs for um Hallmark cards and that's
[0:44] when I started getting into licensing my
[0:47] work and so now a lot of the work that I
[0:51] do is licensed onto fabric and home
[0:54] decor um wall art things like that and
[0:58] my latest collection features flowers
[1:01] from my garden and nearby areas that I
[1:04] love and in this collection I really
[1:07] want to capture that light and the the
[1:10] movement um within a garden because we
[1:13] wait all winter long to see things bloom
[1:16] and so this collection is really just a
[1:18] celebration of that light that happens
[1:21] in spring and summer and so through
[1:24] these pieces I worked on larger canvases
[1:28] and I really just explored more of the
[1:31] movement of painting and using
[1:34] expressive brush work and trying to
[1:37] capture that color shift that you see
[1:39] with light filtering through leaves and
[1:42] petals my artwork will be on display
[1:44] here at the Lakeville Area Arts Center
[1:47] from now until June 28th and then my
[1:50] artwork will be on display at City Hall
[1:52] from July 16th through September 9th
