[0:00] [Music] [0:05] hi I'm Grace Benson I'm the new forestry [0:08] technician for the city of Lakeville [0:10] I've been working in the cities and the [0:11] metro area for about 2 years now working [0:14] in Municipal forestry helping out with [0:16] forestry departments and their tree [0:19] disease and insect issues most recently [0:22] I was working at minona where I work as [0:24] a tree inspector scouting the city for [0:27] tree diseases as forestry technician [0:30] here at Lakeville I will work with [0:31] residents to manage trees in the city I [0:35] am available to consult about private [0:37] trees specifically concerning diseases [0:40] and insects such as Emerald ashore Dutch [0:43] elm disease and Oak quilt management [0:45] these are diseases that affect our Urban [0:48] forest and all of our trees individually [0:51] what we're dealing with the most right [0:52] now is Emerald ashore I've been scouting [0:55] the city for ash trees that are affected [0:58] and working to manage it in the City so [1:00] that we can keep the effects of the [1:02] insect under control I also work to [1:05] manage Park trees and keep them healthy [1:08] and safe in our parks and work to [1:11] replace a lot of the ash trees that we [1:12] currently have planted as we move in [1:15] more diverse species with a bunch of [1:18] different kinds of trees that will be [1:20] more resistant to insect and pest [1:23] problems in the future I'm available to [1:26] answer any questions about forestry [1:28] concerns in the city especially [1:30] concerning Dutch elm disease Oak quilt [1:32] and emerald ashore [1:35] [Music]
