[0:05] So tonight we are hosting the program [0:07] called Santa in Blue. [music] And Santa [0:09] and Blue is a program where officers [0:11] nominate families throughout the year to [0:13] join us for this holiday celebration. [0:15] It's [music] for families that have been [0:16] through traumatic uh incidences [0:18] throughout the year. It can be anything [0:20] from car accidents to families that were [0:22] in and had [music] a house fire. and [0:24] they come and have a positive [0:26] interaction with us because the last [0:28] time that we dealt with them was [0:29] probably not so positive. Not only is [0:32] [music] it for the kids and to have that [0:34] last interaction with the police [0:35] department to be a positive one, but a [0:37] lot of times when the officers are done [0:39] um with the case, they don't know what [0:41] truly has happened with the kids. And [0:44] it's an opportunity then for them to see [0:46] that the kids are happy and to see them [0:48] having such a good time. It really is a [0:51] great mental health initiative that we [0:53] can help with [music] the police [0:54] department as well. [0:55] >> The kids are just ecstatic, especially [0:57] when we hand out the personalized gifts [0:58] at the end. We hand out um all the gifts [1:01] to the kids and I count down to three [1:02] and then they just all rip open them and [1:05] and it's just it's massive [music] fun [1:07] chaos everywhere. There's no greater way [1:09] to end a year with the police [1:11] department, with our community, than the [1:13] Santa's in Blue program. [music] And [1:15] seeing our officers happy, our families [1:18] happy, the foundation is happy because [1:20] we were able to help them out.
