[0:07] my name is Britt Nelson with the [0:08] Lakeville Fire Department here with [0:09] another Lakeville Fire Safety Minute [0:11] today we're sending a PSA out to all of [0:13] our Lakeville area parents uh nationally [0:16] there has been a trend going around on [0:17] TikTok involving uh Chromebooks and [0:20] electrical outlets where kids are [0:22] sticking paper clips and push pins into [0:25] those and causing significant damage [0:27] most recently this has started to impact [0:29] us here in the city of Lakeville so we [0:31] wanted to make sure that all the parents [0:32] are aware of that uh there are many [0:34] dangers with this trend including damage [0:37] to devices like Chromebooks and iPads [0:39] damage to electrical outlets and [0:41] electrical systems and most dangerous [0:44] that could cause a fire and/or serious [0:46] bodily harm we urge parents to take some [0:48] time and have a conversation with your [0:50] kids about intelligently viewing social [0:52] media and the dangers of trends that may [0:55] seem cool in the moment but could have [0:57] lasting impact if you have questions [0:59] about fire safety around your home or [1:01] around the school or any questions about [1:03] youth fire setting behaviors feel free [1:04] to give us a call at the Lakeville Fire [1:06] Department 952-985-4700
