Lakeville residents can now order trees from the city's annual Arbor Day sale, which features 13 different species at discounted prices. The sale opens February 18 and runs through April 17, 2025, or until inventory runs out. All purchased trees will be available for pickup on April 26 at the city's central maintenance facility.

City Forester Zach Jorgenson presented the details at Monday's city council meeting. "The annual Arbor Day tree sale opens soon this year sale includes a diverse mix of 13 different tree species available for purchase by Lakeville residents at a discounted price," Jorgenson said. The selection spans shade trees, ornamental varieties, conifers, and fruit and cherry trees, giving residents multiple options for their yards and neighborhoods.

Jorgenson emphasized that residents should place orders early to secure their preferred species. "Trees do move quickly so order early for best selection," he noted. This is a common pattern for the city's tree sale program, which has built a strong following among residents interested in expanding Lakeville's tree canopy.

Residents interested in purchasing trees can visit the city's online portal at Lakeville mn.gov/trees to place orders and find additional information about available species and pricing. The council did not hold a formal vote on the announcement, treating it as an informational item to alert the community about the upcoming sale.
