[0:15] about 13 years. I am in charge of
[0:18] implementing all of our less lethal,

[0:30] weapon. It projects probes down range
[0:33] and energizes the subject to create
[0:36] neural muscular incapacitation. That is

[0:41] that way they can't move. It knocks them
[0:44] to the ground and it gives the officers
[0:46] 5 seconds in order to go hands-on and
[0:49] then when they come out of that 5-second
[0:51] tasing, they are able to safely put them
[0:53] into handcuffs and get them under
[0:55] control. So, the Taser 10 has 10 probes
[0:58] that can go down range at a maximum
[1:01] distance of 45 ft. Before, we were very
[1:04] limited to either two probes or four
[1:07] probes at a distance of 8 to 15 ft. With
[1:11] the Taser 10, we are able to maintain
[1:13] officer safety by our standoff distance
[1:16] and still have really good results when
[1:19] it comes to that less lethal option. If
[1:22] we have a suicidal male with a knife, we
[1:24] are able to stand off, talk to them
[1:27] safely, and resolve that by possibly
[1:30] using the taser to incapacitate that
[1:32] individual. One of the benefits of the
[1:35] Taser 10 technology is that whenever it
[1:38] is armed, which is being turned on, it
[1:41] will activate all bodywn cameras in the
[1:43] area as well as any squad cameras. This
[1:46] allows for an officer to ensure that if
[1:49] they are in um a more dynamic situation
[1:53] that even turning on their taser will
[1:56] automatically activate their bodywn
[1:58] camera and start that recording process
[2:00] without them having to physically do it.
[2:03] All of the officers at Lakeville Police
[2:06] Department are trained in on taser. So
[2:08] everybody who is a sworn officer as well
[2:11] as all of our community service officers
[2:13] and our reserve officers are all train
[2:16] in to utilize the Taser 10 and carry it
[2:19] out on the road.
