Lakeville Schools Honors Educators of Excellence Amidst EML Leadership Transition
The Lakeville Area School District recently recognized two outstanding educators with the EML Educators of Excellence awards, coinciding with a key leadership change for the local teachers' union.
The Lakeville Area School District recently shone a spotlight on its dedicated teaching staff, celebrating two exemplary individuals with the prestigious Education Minnesota Lakeville (EML) Educators of Excellence awards. This annual recognition event also marked a significant leadership transition for EML, the local chapter of the statewide teachers' union, as it prepares to welcome a new president.
Carrie Pop, the outgoing EML President, introduced her successor, Randy Adams, during the meeting. Adams, a respected fifth-grade teacher at Lake Marion Elementary, is set to officially begin his term as EML President on July 1. His new role will involve leading the organization that advocates for the professional interests of educators within Lakeville Area Schools and collaborates with the district to foster effective teaching and learning environments.
Our voters have chosen to invest in the success of our students.
Superintendent Michael Baumann highlighted the community's overarching commitment to education, a sentiment that underpins the work of dedicated educators across the district. He noted that the community’s recent support for the bond referendum reflects an ongoing investment in students' future, providing a robust environment for teaching excellence to thrive.
The 2025-26 Educators of Excellence awards were proudly presented by incoming President Randy Adams, acknowledging staff members who have made exceptional contributions to student learning and the broader school community. Hillary Morlock, a digital media specialist lead at Cherry View Elementary, was honored as the EML Elementary Educator of Excellence. Her innovative approaches to digital literacy and support for students and staff were key factors in her recognition.
The EML Secondary Educator of Excellence award was presented to Erin Mulvaney-Mankowski, an English educator at Lakeville Pathways Academy. Mulvaney-Mankowski's impact extends well beyond her classroom, as she is also recognized for her roles as an equity lead, a union representative, and a Professional Learning Community (PLC) facilitator, demonstrating a comprehensive commitment to student success and professional development.
