Local Theater Presents Christie Mystery Production
A Twin Cities theater company will present "A Murder is Announced," based on Agatha Christie's mystery novel, from Feb. 14-23, 2025.
The production features the classic detective character Miss Marple investigating a murder mystery that unfolds at Miss Blacklock's home. According to promotional materials, the story begins when a newspaper announcement declares a murder will occur at the residence that evening.
The cast includes community actors from the Twin Cities area portraying various characters, each with potential motives for murder. Miss Marple, Christie's recurring detective character, arrives unexpectedly to investigate the mystery alongside other guests.
Producers noted that Christie's mysteries continue to appeal to modern audiences because people enjoy trying to solve the puzzles before the reveal. The author's understanding of human nature and complex character development contribute to the stories' enduring popularity.
Tickets are available for performances running through Feb. 23. The theater company expressed appreciation for community support of live theater productions.
