[Music] hey everyone it's Logan here with the Lowdown from this week's city council meeting two exciting projects to discuss this week and so I'll jump right into it first the city council approve the initial construction project for talamore park on the east side of town telmar park is being constructed on the Eastern expanses of cona Trail at 144th Street this is a 1.5 acre Park and it'll be a great addition to the neighborhood it'll feature a half basketball court a Sun shelter a playground a hammocking area and a really new thing that we're trying an idea from our youth commission which is to install a small practice putting green over at the park so that'll be a cool thing to watch out for up next will come a review of what the sun shelter and playground feature will look like and that'll be bid and accepted by the city council at a later date next the city council approve plans for the city's newest Elementary School this school will exist on akran Avenue at Bon a on the southwest corner of that intersection on a 34 Acre Site this is an extremely exciting project and something that hasn't happened in the city for a very long time and is certainly a much needed addition to the community the school will feature 38 classrooms and house almost 630 students this project is being funded by the recently approved School bonding referendum that was approved last fall one of the biggest discussions around this project as it came through the Planning Commission and the city council was traffic and pedestrian safety a critical topic as we discuss in elementary school a traffic analysis was done on this site and a few minor adjustments are being made to support the school first a stop sign will be installed at kale Moore Trail to make sure that AR Avenue is the main through Street as folks come and go from the elementary school the site plan has being constructed with a very large stacking area for parent drop off and pickup to ensure that traffic doesn't need to spill out onto the street we're certain that traffic safety and pedestrian safety will still be completed as the project goes online so that's it from this week's city council meeting thank thanks for tuning in as always follow us on all of our social media channels and we will see you next time
