[Music] Hey everyone, it's Logan with the lowdown from this week's city council meeting. Got a few things to share with you tonight and so we'll dive right into it. First, the city council met in a work session and then later in the regular meeting to receive an update from our partners at Dakota County. County Commissioner Bill Drasty presented to the public and the city council during the regular meeting. And then prior to that at our work session, county staff and the two county commissioners that represent Rosemount were on hand to talk about upcoming county transportation projects. As you can imagine, as the city of Rosemount grows rapidly, we partner deeply with Dakota County to ensure the safe and easy flow of traffic throughout the city of Rosemount. A couple things to flag for residents that you'll see in the upcoming years that the county commissioners uh reminded us of at the meeting. First, next summer, there will be a roundabout added at Akran and Kamera near the new Lifetime and Quick Trip commercial area. An exciting opportunity there that's going to increase the flow and the ease of flow and traffic maneuvers on Akran Avenue. County staff and the commissioners also talked to the city about the 42 corridor study that's been underway to understand how safety enhancements and traffic enhancements need to happen along Highway 42. A couple things of note here. A signal light is coming at Biscane Avenue to support the future Rosemount Middle School that's currently under construction. A signal light is also forthcoming at Auburn Avenue and both of these projects are slated for the summer and fall of 2027. You've also seen some of the traffic enhancements at Business Parkway to protect uh ease of traffic flow there and some traffic accidents that we did experience in those areas. And so that's a temporary solution in advance of the signal light that's coming at Biscane Avenue. As I mentioned, this partnership is really critical as we make sure that county roads and city roads and state highways function as effectively as possible. Lastly, I want to remind everybody that it's a really fun weekend here again in the city of Rosemount coming up this weekend. Saturday is our second annual October Fest event set from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. here at Central Park. We'll have beer and alcohol selections from Omni and North 20. food trucks offering some really fun German flare and some American food as well. We have a poker band from 12 to 3 to really get that German vibe flowing. And then DJ Shotsky is going to play some music and perform some music from 3:30 to 7:00. So come on out to Oktoberfest. We also have a costume contest. So pull out your later hosen and come on out about 4:15 p.m. to register for a 4:30 costume contest to win prizes for who can look the most German. And as you likely know, October is fire prevention month. And so on Sunday, we are celebrating fire prevention week with our annual open house at fire station number two. Come on by to fire station 2 on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. We have a full slate of events and fun kind of demonstrations happening about every half an hour starting with a car extraction. We have the aerial truck up in the air with some repelling happening off of our aerial bucket truck from our special operations team. Also some free hot dogs and free food for all the families to come on out. So please come on out to the fire open house. The focus for this year for fire safety month is on those lithium ion batteries and the headline is charge into safety. And so come on out to the fire open house. It's a great weekend in Rosemount as usual. Thanks for everybody always showing up and participating. Uh and a reminder to check out our videos online if you want to see the whole video. And we'll see you next time.
