[Music] Hey everyone, it's Logan with a lowdown from this week's city council meeting. Got two good updates for you tonight and so we'll dive right in. First, the city council gave formal authorization for the city to enter into a contract with a professional staffing company called Citygate. Citygate is a company that specializes in analyzing fire department structures all across the country. So reminder, this is the continued process that Fire Chief Springer and the team are bringing us through as we analyze what the best future makeup of the city in our fire staffing model needs to look like. What we expect this could lead into is potentially a duty crew that trends towards some full-time staff working for the Rosemont Fire Department as we continue to grow. But again, much more to come. We're just kicking off a six-month process with Citygate as we begin to analyze what the future of the Rosemont Fire Department could transition to. Next was not on this week's city council meeting, but wanted to give another update in case you missed the exciting news. The city has acquired officially as of last week, the former Speedway gas station over on 145th. Folks in town have talked a lot about this this property. We know a lot about this property. Has been watched for quite some time. It's kind of a blight unfortunately in our neighborhoods. The building, as we've talked about, was stuck in a fairly lengthy bank process as it went through the foreclosure and and bankruptcy process, and it finally was able to come up for sale here this spring. The city was able to jump pretty quickly on acquiring the property. The city's plan is to demolish the building yet this summer just to clean the blight and remove the blight from the neighborhood. We will then engage in a community engagement process with the community and the surrounding neighborhoods to understand what might be the most interesting thing for the community in that area to again help us drive who in the private marketplace we would look to sell this property to or work with in the future to provide an amenity that meets the community's needs.
