[Music] hey everyone it's Logan here with the Lowdown from this week's city council meeting two important things to talk about today and to highlight from this week's meeting and we'll dive right into it first the city council received its annual comprehensive financial report more generally known as our audit from our partners at mmkr at this week's city council meeting this is an independent audit of the city's Financial records and it's a really critical task that we do each year the work of the audit is really a deep dive ensuring that all of our financial reports are following government accounting principles and standards that we as a government Finance Agency are required to follow we're really pleased to report that mmkr was able to give an unmodified opinion to the city council and I want to give a shout out to our teammates in the finance department for their really critical work administrative Services director Tia Malik leads a really talented team and most importantly they completed it with a positive report from mmkr so thank you so much to our friends in the finance department and congratulations on this important achievement next the city council awarded its contract for the Aspen Avenue construction project this is a really important project as we work towards the completion of Our Lifetime Fitness partnership over there at akan and conom Avenue Aspen Avenue is the north south Connector Road connecting cona down to Highway 42 this project involves a new Street Water and Sewer infrastructure as well as pedestrian connections connecting conam down to Highway 42 so that's it for this week's city council meeting as always check out the full YouTube video certainly as you want to check out that full financial report and our annual audit find that on the YouTube video online and we'll see you next time
