[Music] hey everyone it's Logan with the Lowdown from this week's city council meeting we had a fairly brief agenda so I've got two things to talk about today the main item from the regular city council meeting that I wanted to call out was an amendment to a recently adopted AAR for a project over on rosemount's East Side so this is an update to the AAR the alternative urban area wide review update that was approved back in November of 2023 this is for the parcel best reference would be west of Blaine north of the new ma metadata Center that's under construction and the request is to update that AAR to add a second development scenario to it so as a part of an AAR process uh a developer proposed or Scopes a number of development scenarios in there the one that was or is still included in there is up for upwards of 1.92 million ft of Industrial Development that had been identified for distribution the proposers adding an additional scenario upwards of 4 million square ft for data center or Technology Park use um one of the things to call to attention within that a update was a letter from Metropolitan Council initially they had some questions or comments on the information that was provided related to the uh the Wastewater um sufficient information has been since submitted provided and published and then included into the a largely related to how um a data center usage would consider water so I can um Point your attention to page eight of the actual document that's included in your packet it just talks a little bit about um the size of the use and data center is talking about the types of systems they use and it's prescribed in here that an air cool a dry cooling system is anticipated and will use between 10,000 up to 100,000 gallons of water per day and so this is a range that as well within the city's capacity to provide so as we wrap just want to give one key reminder there is no no proposal there is no project that has yet to be applied for this Pro property this is a planning and investigation document that prepares this property for any potential future development so I just wanted to lay that one out the city council met in its monthly work session before the city council meeting to discuss the 2025 budget as folks likely know we are deep in budget season at this time of year here at City Hall aiming towards an establishment of the ceiling for the city's budget and Levy here in September after September res resents will receive notification of their potential tax for 2025 and at that point the city council receives feedback from any residents with questions or concerns and then can reduce the budget before final adoption in December don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns as always full explanations of this and any other proposal or action of the city council can be found in our Council packet in the staff memal explaining what we're doing around here and also as you watch the City Council meetings on our YouTube video so that's it from this week and we'll see you next time
